Though I do not celebrate Christmas, I always appreciated being able to see, "Its a Wonderful Life". Now it can be obtained on DVD etc.... but use to be I could only see it during this time of year. I like many of the Jimmy Stewart movies and I always liked this one because it showed the effect that one person can have upon others. The main character in the movie was blessed to see how his life impacted others. It shows the strength of a man who stood up for what was right and how his caring made a difference. Perhaps you have a different movie that you really enjoy during this time of year?

Not especially, I am really busy celebrating ( by reading ) of the incarnation of my creator come to suffer and die for me that I may have life eternal with Him in the presence of his Father. But, if I am to have need of a favorite movie I guess there is one that has replaced two others that have been my absolute favorites. It could apply to Christmas quite well I suppose. It is "War Room".

I have seen this film for only the 2nd time today, great to see one that does not have xmas anywhere. That's probably due to it being set in the early 1800's. I would say it is the greatest musical ever, as it combines love, war, passion, comedy, heartache & wrongful justice of 19yrs for a man stealing bread for his family. The compassion that oozes from him, affects those around him. The recurring themes of the many songs, strike at the heart, & I defy anyone not to have shed a tear or two.

I am, of course referring to Les Miserables, & the great voices of Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman & Eddie Redmayne, & the love & loss, that surrounds them. The villains, aptly played by Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter & Russell Crowe.

The other musicals near the top would be Yentl, the love triangle with Barbara Streisand posing as a man. Quadrophenia, the Who's epic soundtrack of 60's gangwar, between mods & rockers.

Really? I could hardly wait for first intermission of the play to get out of my box seat and go to the car to wait for my wife who loved it.
