Guest adean
Not being a big news junkie, all along I thought the Live 8 concerts seemed to be a good idea and an honorable cause for raising money for the poor people of Africa. From what I understand now, the concerts did nothing to raise money for Africa, but only had the purpose of influencing governments to give more money. Is this true? Perhaps I

He talked about it but never seemed to answer the question. Does a lot of talking without saying anything....hmmmm....sounds like a politician to me Does anyone have an opinion of World Vision? I sponsor a dear 13 year old boy in Rwanda through World Vision. I think it's wonderful organization.

Unfortunately this will mean NOTHING for the poorest people, but only for the wealthy bankers and the corrupt dictators of those nations, for THEY are the ones who borrowed the money, now they don't have to pay it back. We think they've done something nice for the poorest people in the world, when the money we loaned NEVER REACHED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! Virtually 100% went to line the pockets of the dirty bankers and dictators in those countries, and the notes--by and large--are guaranteed by THE U.S. TAXPAYER: That's you and me folks. All our government did is allow those wealthy third world bankers and military dictators to pick the pockets of the American people. But that's what 'Liberalism' is all about: Make yourself feel morally superior by giving away OTHER PEOPLES' MONEY!

It's well known that many celebs only show up at events where there are "Goodie Bags". $12,000.00 would not be considered enough of an incentive for some to show up, actually.
