believe ALL of God's Holy Spirit inspired Word and Truth as it IS HIS Word and Truth .. if there is something you don't understand, pray to the Holy Spirit to enlighten you and help you to understand .. IF you believe He will and IF you are genuinely concerned, HE WILL help you but in HIS Way and HIS Timing .. so, be patient .. but NEVER EVER doubt God's Word and Truth as it is ALWAYS the TRUTH as God cannot lie and would not lie .. what man says God says and God means is not always accurate, so go directly to God in His Word and Truth and in prayer and listen to Him tell you What HE said and What HE meant, for Who better than HE to tell you so ..

I do hope you understand it isn't me that isn't believing everything in the Bible...    It's johnthebaptist.

I cannot believe God told Paul to tell us that women can't speak in churches or that husbands should rule over their wives. That would be great for men, but not so great for women. Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves, and this just isn't love. Paul was a great man and had much to teach us, just as Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries is a great man, but I don't believe everything Charles says is true, and I don't think the two things above that Paul said are true.

I'm curious @johnthebaptist, what other scripture do you not believe in?

First, I believe the Bible is a trustworthy account of the events to which it witnesses. If it said God or Jesus said something, then God or Jesus said it. We are bound to obey God and Jesus, and they said a lot.

I do not believe the epistle writers carried the same authority. They were wise men and we can learn much from them, but I don't think Paul was speaking for God when he told women to be silent in church or consider their husbands to be their masters.

Do you not believe the Holy Spirit, Who moved men to write Gods words?

I believe the Holy Spirit is God. I'm sure he inspired most of the Bible, but not Paul's remarks about women remaining silent in churches and obeying each and every command issued by their husbands.

About 2000 years have gone by since Paul wrote the epistles.  Have you ever considered the culture it was written in, or are you basing the scripture only on what the world is like today?
