That negates any sort of link to plastic surgery or ear piercings in the western world. 1

Taking on tattoos can be symbollic of being owned by the owner of the tattoo symbol, and if we are owned by God, we therefore we shouldn't vandalise or deface God's temple with symbols of another. Use not your liberty to enjoy some carnal activity, = "use not your liberty for an occasion to the flesh""" So, we are not under any type of Old Testament verse- bondage. WE the born again, are under Grace.. Freedom in Christ. WE the born again, have the right to use our liberty, our freedom in Christ, to do what we want.....as that is the idea presented in the word "LIBERTY".....However, as Paul said, even tho you can do all things, not all things are good for you to be doing. And right in there, is where "abstain from the appearance of Evil" and ""But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak ."""" come into play.....big time. See, if you deeply understand the principle of Grace, and how God will no longer view your wrong deeds as being judged by the Law, then you have complete freedom to do what you want. But, because we are to walk in LOVE towards others, especially the brethren, we are to consider how our behavior impacts them, and so, we are to be careful that what we do, does not cause them to stumble.... What does that mean? It means that if you are a deeper disciple who can enjoy certain fleshy activities without condemnation, YET< these same activities would cause someone who is weak in the faith to come under extreme guilt and condemnation if they copy your behavior......then your liberty has harmed your brother or sister in Christ. We have to be sure we are not causing this.....ever.
