I tried that WWJD once, but couldn't turn water into wine :(

I thought WWJD was just a slogan, is it a book or movement?

It was a reminder, like you said. But I found there was much I couldn't do what Jesus would (like walk sinless).

To cynical me, the whole thing was another lame Christian marketing scam.

Well I think however now we can do those things, we are now covered by Christ's sinless sacrifice and He lives in us (Colossians 1:27) so we are sinless in that regard, as for drinking wine, that was custom of the times (water was often polluted, and wine mixed in to cleanse), and Jesus said he wouldn't drink of another cup until the Wedding Supper of Lamb. When it says WWJD, I think the goal was to do what Jesus did, prayer for sick, tend to the lost, preach the Kingdom, and so forth. For even Peter was allowed to walk on water with Jesus, and so anything is possible in God the Trinity.

What a great way to think and live, asking yourself in every situation "What would Jesus do?" and then do the same.  Unfortunately, there is so little true faith these days not much is accomplished in His name.  Just doing what He guides us to do can be hard enough for most.

I think a better question is... JWWYHMTD?

Jesus, what would you have me to do?

Do you think He would have someone do anything different than what He would do?  Not sure what you are talking about here.

What's Jesus going to do when he comes back?  What will Jesus do should be the question if you are going to go this route.  I don't think we are authorized to do what Jesus would do.

Got this one from a friend:

Keep in mind that answering the question, "What would Jesus do?" could also include turning over tables and chasing people out of a place of worship with a whip. Just sayin'.

Raise the dead, walk on water, give sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf etc. I don't doubt the original intent was noble but it quickly got commercialized and WWJD trinkets were found all over Christian 'bookstores' in the early '90's.

Well it is possible a commercialization was involved, jut like now Life Way is pushing the slogan "The Way, The Truth, and Life," albeit omitting the whole verse, "I am the Way, The Truth, and the Life, none shall come to Father except through me." (John 14:6).

The classic popped up in the late '70's..."I found it" buttons and bumper stickers. Sad when salvation becomes an 'it'.

You've gotta admit, its better than "Nikki, Just Sports" or "Apple, take a bite." I would rather have Christian slogans, than the secular ones.

It's expected from the secular arena...but the Christians? I guess it's becoming that way. (sigh).

Isn't there a new one called "Not Today Satan!" I thought, wear that shirt and you will be the target of Satanists.

It also depends, if you have deep relationship with Trinity and now the words in their proper sense, the slogan can just be profession, instead of just commercialization. But I understand what you mean, there has been marketing to us Christians merely to make a buck, in my opinion Risen, the movie was such a film as well as some others.
