How do we know Spain will be head of the EU in 3 months? Fill me in please.

NOte: People who study Biblical prophecy are not necessarily prophets. There is a difference between having the "gift of prophecy" & studying established biblical prophecy.

Hi Debbie,

The Presidents of the EU don't get elected by the people. The way they do it is weird. They rotate every 6 months. So Spain is next in line, and is scheduled to lead the EU for 6 months. But here is another interesting point I found in Daniel:

Dan. 7:25 - "And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, (and think to change times and laws): and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

This was my prediction on April 8th, 2002:

Debbie, this is only my opinion, but I believe this may be talking about the AC trying to change the set 6 month rotation that is now in place. I also believe that he will try to change the laws of the nations, into World Law and start the World or Global Court System. Time is getting short Sister, and very exciting too I might add. Keep your eyes on Israel, the flame is getting hotter.

Daniel 7:25 has nothing to do with AC or EU or anything like that.......It has everything to do with the Roman Catholic Church and the pope.......I have the articles in which the pope states these things.......Speak great words against the most high= The pope speaks as if he is Christ himself in the flesh, He cliams that he can forgive sins, he claims to have the power to excommunicate angels out of heaven!.............Shall wear out the Saints of the Most high = Over 500 million Christian martyrs during the papacy's reign which was exactly 1260 years! The pope even apologized for all the killing and bloodshed in the past (Remember that!)............Think to change God's times and laws = They changed the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday and they even admit it (See The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine) and they changed the 10 commandments (They completely got rid of the 2nd and then split the 10th in two parts to make up for the missing one!)...................Given into his hand for a time, times and the dividing of time = Time is a year, times is 2 years, the divining of time is a half year. Your total is 3 1/2 years.........or 42 months.........1260 days! Remember Ezekiel 4:6 and Numbers 14:34. A day in bible prophecy is a literal year. 1260 years is exactly how long the papacy was in power and killed millions of Christians. This verse cant get any plainer. I hope that this will help you with you studies. God Bless.

Sorry Bud, but after further review, Dan.7:25 has nothing to do with the RCC. It is referring to the little horn that will rise up among the other ten horns. Back in 2002, I assumed that the little horn was the antichrist, which is a very wide spread teaching even today. Scripture is clear that it is the little horn, and in the New Testament, I do believe the son of perdition is an appropriate title also, as is the man of sin, but antichrist is nothing more than an assumption.

Given into his hand for a time, times and the dividing of time = Time is a year, times is 2 years, the divining of time is a half year. I agree that some prophecies relate to a day for a year, but not in this case. A time, times and half a time are 3 1/2 years, so are the 42 months, which = 1260 literal days. All you need now, is some scripture that shows 42 months = 1260 years, and then too, time, times and 1/2 = 1260 years, but good luck finding it. :)

Russia heading for internal 'crisis,' Kasparov says

23.05.2007 - 17:39 CET | By Andrew Rettman

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Russian chess master turned dissident Gary Kasparov warned Europe that its giant eastern neighbour is heading for a "political crisis" by the end of the year, while urging the EU and G7 states not to give Putin propaganda ammunition.

"The gap between rich and poor is growing...political instability is growing, as the Russian elite doesn't know who will take power in 2008. These developments are pointing to a serious political crisis at the end of this year," Mr Kasparov said.

His remarks, made at the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday (23 May), depict Putin's Russia as an ideology-free "corporation" with policies designed only to enrich the nomenklatura, no matter what the cost to ordinary Russians or international relations.

The Russian president in state-owned media portrays himself as having 70 percent popularity, rebuilding post-Soviet Russia as a petro-based superpower and playing a positive, counter-balancing role to "unipolar" US imperialism in areas like the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Mr Kasparov says Russian oligarch capital is fleeing west amid fears of a redistribution of wealth after Russia's March 2008 presidential elections; popular disenchantment is mounting and Russian arms sales to Syria and Iran are fuelling Middle East conflicts.

"If the US administration exercised the same control, Bush would have 70 percent also," he explained. "The regime needs high oil prices, instability in the Middle East is keeping oil prices high."

"In 1989 there were a few hundred people on the streets. In 1990, a few thousand. In 1991 [when the Soviet Union collapsed] there were hundreds of thousands," Mr Kasparov said. "On the streets of Moscow and St Petersburg [in April] we had a few thousand."

The Kremlin has repeatedly rejected the Kasparov line, denying that it sells sensitive arms technology to rogue states. It has also highlighted the fact Mr Kasparov's opposition rallies attract far-right and far-left groups, and questioned the chess genius' political nous.

"He's a better chess player than he is a politician," the Russian envoy to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, once told EUobserver.

But the Kasparov picture is also matched by other reports: BBC journalists talk of mansions being built outside Moscow while basic social welfare services lapse. The International Energy Agency says under-investment in infrastructure could see massive gas shortages hit around 2010.

The book "Putin's Russia" by murdered journalist Anna Politkovskaya also paints a sad picture of the Russian army: drunk colonels shooting civilians in Chechnya with impunity; nuclear submarine captains unable to feed their families due to unpaid wages.

"Russia is run on the basis of 'output legitimacy' - Putin is not interested in democracy, but he has promised energy rents will bring social benefits," European Council on Foreign Relations analyst Nicu Popescu said. "If after 2010 there is no output legitimacy and no democratic legitimacy there could be a crisis."

"It's difficult to predict when this will happen, but economic and political trends are pointing in this direction. It might not be this year, it might be three or four years from now," he added.

The G8 circus

Mr Kasparov - in Strasbourg at the personal invitation of European Parliament president Hans-Gert Poettering - noted the EU has hardened its criticism of Russia in recent months, with harsh words from EU leaders at the Samara summit last week.

"Those were not words spoken from abroad, those were words criticising Putin spoken in Russia, and that made them very valuable," he said. "The EU must stand for democracy and human rights and not apply double standards."

But with the G8 summit on 6 June in Germany fast-approaching, he also recalled the positive publicity given to Putin at last year's G8 summit in St Petersburg - an event remembered for a flashy reception at a Czarist-era palace and empty promises on energy security.

"Kremlin propaganda tries to portray Putin as part of the global democratic environment," Mr Kasparov said. "Ordinary Russians were puzzled to see him side-by-side with world leaders and at the same time hearing from us, that Putin violates basic democratic principles."

Solana says: "EU would consider military role in Gaza if asked"

By Associated Press

The European Union would consider participating in an international force in Gaza if asked by the major players in the region, the EU's foreign policy chief Javier Solana said Wednesday.

"If we are asked, of course, we will consider the possibility," Solana told reporters.

He spoke in response to a suggestion by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that international forces could be stationed along the Gaza Strip's volatile border with Egypt to prevent arms from reaching Palestinian militants.

The EU, which has police officers already helping to monitor the Gaza-Egypt border, has long said it would examine a possible peacekeeping role in the region if there is an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

Solana stressed that as yet there had been no decision among players in the region to seek EU help.

"We are far from a decision," he said. "We'll see how things go, and what is the decision to be taken by the important players, that have to take a decision, which are ... the Israelis, the Palestinians and the Egyptians."

Solana said he'd been in touch overnight with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian leaders in an effort to calm the situation in the Gaza Strip between Abbas' Fatah forces and the rival Hamas faction.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he supports the deployment of a multinational force along the Philadelphi Route in Rafah on the Gaza-Egypt border.

The presence of an international force could help curb the smuggling of weapons into the Gaza Strip from Egypt, and halt the ongoing strengthening of the militant groups in the Gaza Strip.

Blair prepares to say hasta la vista to No 10

MICHAEL SETTLE, Chief UK Political Correspondent June 26 2007

Tony Blair will hold his last official foreign talks today plus his final press conference as Prime Minister when he welcomes ex-film star Arnold Schwarzenegger, the governor of California, to Downing Street.

The breakfast meeting with the "Governator" at No 10, primarily on climate change, is expected to come just hours before Mr Blair's appointment as a special envoy to the Middle East is confirmed by a meeting of representatives from the Quartet - the UN, US, EU and Russia - in Jerusalem. Yesterday, when the Prime Minister's spokesman was asked about Mr Blair's appointment, he refused to deny it, saying only: "Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

One source close to the Quartet said: "Blair's appointment has been 150% approved. The Jerusalem meeting is all about arranging the logistics, making final arrangements and getting the announcement out."

advertisementThe prime mover behind the PM's appointment has been American President George W Bush with support from Ehud Olmert, the Israeli premier. Given Mr Blair's central role in the Iraq war, the prospect of his appointment has raised eyebrows in certain quarters, though it is thought Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, has decided not to object.

Javier Solana, the EU's high representative on foreign affairs, is believed to be unhappy at Mr Blair's appointment because it could distract from his own role in the region. However, diplomats have insisted the PM's new role will focus on Palestine and will not directly involve talks between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli government.

This morning, Mr Blair will hold round table talks with Mr Schwarzenegger, star of Hollywood's Terminator films, alongside David Miliband, the Environment Secretary, and business leaders when they discuss global warming.

The talks will pick up from last August when the Prime Minister visited the governor in Los Angeles to agree on working together to reduce greenhouse gases and promote low carbon technologies. At the time a mission statement was issued saying the two would, among other things, "share experiences" and "find new solutions" on climate change.

Asked if what has already been dubbed Mr Blair's "hasta la vista" meeting would be the PM's last bilateral talks at No 10, his spokesman said: "I suppose that will be the case."

EU treaty ratification may be difficult, experts say

27.07.2007 - 17:51 CET | By Mark Beunderman

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Even if the EU manages to avoid referendums on its new Reform Treaty, ratification of the text may prove less easy than has been assumed so far, a Brussels think tank has warned.

A paper by the European Policy Centre released on Thursday (26 July) highlights "hurdles and traps" in member states' ratification of the reform treaty, which the Portuguese EU presidency hopes to get signed by EU leaders before the end of the year.

France, which rejected the original EU constitution in a referendum in 2005, has this time opted for treaty ratification via the parliament.

But Mr Sarkozy may run into "unexpected problems" according to the EPC paper.

Before it can ratify the reform treaty, Paris will first have to make changes to its own national constitution because it still contains direct references to the old EU constitutional treaty.

These references were agreed by French deputies in 2004, in the expectation that the EU constitution would soon come into force - before French voters said "no" to the treaty.

"It is true that the constitution should be changed," said a French official, adding that "this process should take place quickly during 2008."

But in order to have the French constitution amended, Mr Sarkozy needs a three-fifths majority in the French 'Congress' - a body combining the country's national assembly and the senate.

For this he depends on the support of the opposition socialists.

"The socialist are in a very difficult situation right now. They could use this opportunity to take revenge at Sarkozy and negotiate to the maximum," said Philippe Moreau Defarges, a senior analyst at the French Institute for International relations (IFRI).

Mr Defarges indicated that it is unlikely that the socialists will actually block the constitutional changes, but added that the party's internal disarray makes its behaviour unpredictable.

Once the constitutional hurdle in France is cleared, parliamentary ratification of the EU treaty is set to be relatively easy, as for this move Mr Sarkozy would only need a simple majority of UMP deputies, who dominate in the assembly.

Obstacles on the road

Other governments in the EU, however, do need a three-fifths or two-thirds parliamentary majority to have the treaty ratified, the EPC paper points out.

In Austria and Finland there are "no signs" that a two-thirds majority will pose a problem, but Poland and the Czech Republic may prove more problematic, the paper notes.

Warsaw still needs to indicate what parliamentary procedure it wants to follow, but opposition support in parliament may prove crucial to pass a two-thirds threshold, with a eurosceptic party in Poland's ruling coalition recently saying it could vote against the treaty.

In the Czech Republic, opposition support may also be necessary for a three-fifth majority.

An even bigger problem could be posed by possible referendums down the line, the think-tank argues. So far, only Ireland has officially announced that it will call a referendum, but other member states are facing pressure to do the same, including the UK, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Denmark, Spain and Luxembourg.

"Much could depend on which country is first to ratify the new treaty - and whether any other member state apart from Ireland decides to call a referendum at an early stage in the process," according to the report.

"If that happens it will be increasingly difficult for those governments which find themselves in the 'grey area' to avoid having one."

Did you notice that the scripture said, "He will think to change the times and laws"?? It didn't say that he would be the one to change them. This was all Solana's idea, and his thought. This to me makes him a very possible candidate to become the future AC dictator that will make Hitler seem like a choir boy. Could it be possible, that the EU will do away with the 6 month rotation, and Solana take hold of the reigns in future days, namely the tribulation?? Fear not folks, if this does happen, it will more than likely take place after the rapture. I can almost imagine this whole thing taking place. The world will be looking for the man who has all the answers in the time of trouble. Come Lord Jesus!!!!!!!

When the bible says that "it shall be given into his hands" it means what it says. The antichrist will change the laws of God. The laws of men are already on his side. Laws regarding abortion, gay marraige, euthanasia and what the bible says about sinners is already considered "hate speech" in the EU are already reflecting rebellion against God. So the antichrist will not be changing the laws of men but the laws of God. " iniquity ( which means lawlessness of God's law) shall abound so much so that the love of many(lovers of Christ) shall wax cold".

As for the times the antichrist will change we know this much from the bible. The antichrist can not change the present because God is in control, the antichrist can not change the future because God has pr- ordained it. But the antichrist can change the past. He will appear claiming to be Christ. He will also claim that the Christ of two thousand years ago was a fake and with his many miracles he will decieve many.

Whena man gaines control of the EU and starts speaking out against the laws of God and persecuting Christians there will be no doubt about who he is.

I think you may be reading a little bit more into it than is there. Remember what Jesus said. Not one jot or tittle will be removed from the law until all is fulfilled.

Once Solana suggested publicly that the EU needs to do away with the six month rotation of the presidents, that's when they began writing the new constitution of Rome, which is a new system of law to govern the entire EU.

Cheers!

So do you know what a tittle is? If so please tell me. And please tell me where the bible says that he doesn't get to change the times and laws he will be thinking about changing. I don't think that I am reading to much into what the bible says but I do think that you are making assumtions that can not be scripturally supported. If there is no scripture that says that the antichrist doesn't get to do the things that he will be thinking about. Then we should take what the word of God says at face value. So when the bible says that what the antichrist will be thinking to do was given into his hands that means that what he will be thinking about doing, will happen. And since there is no other scripture that says anything else. The words (given into his hands) shows that God, (who has the powerto do so) will give into the antichrist's hand the power to do what he is thinking to do.

In the Hebrew the word given means (to be given over to) or (given control of) which means that God will give the antichrist the power to do what he wants to do. Just like God gave satan the power to do what he wanted to do to Job. What ever he wanted to do to Job was given into the hand of satan, except that he was not given the power to kill Job. Job 2:6

Also in the Hebrew the word time is speaking of one year, the word times is speaking of 2 years and the words "the dividing of times" is speaking of 6 months. So all together this verse is speaking of three and one half years and not six months. This verse is still yet future and will not come to pass until after the antichrist has already come to power. There will not be any question as to who the antichrist is. When the time comes. We will know.
