The woman in Revelation 12:6 represents the "Remnant Church" seen in Roman's chapter 11, they will be in Israel's wilderness during the 1260 day tribulation, as Jerusalem is in desolation

You will closely note Micah 7:13-18 is a detailed description of Revelation 12:6, the Remnant will be in the wilderness of Carmel, Bashan, and Gilead, they will be fed "Manna" from heaven as in the days of coming out of Egypt, the world will watch in "Fear" of the Lord's power

Revelation 12:6KJV
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Micah 7:13-18KJV
13 Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.
14 Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.
15 According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt
will I shew unto him marvellous things.
16 The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf.
17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the Lord our God, and shall fear because of thee.
18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

The Woman of Revelation 12 is New Jerusalem before she is perfected. Let us see what attributes she has.

  1. She is a "sign" thus not physical
  2. She is in heaven, but delivers her Man-Child on earth
  3. She has already two other seeds - those who "keep the commandments of God", and those who "have the testimony of Jesus Christ"
  4. She is thus a "Mother"
  5. She is clothed with the sun. A garment in parable is one's works (Rev.19:7-8). Christ is the "Sun of righteousness" (Mal.4:2)
  6. She has the moon under her feet. She thus rules this light that only reflects the sun and which rules the night (Gen.1:16)
  7. She has a crown of stars. A crown is for ruling
  8. She produces the Man-Child with pain
  9. She produces the Man-Child at the end of the age because only 1260 days are left
  10. She flees to a wilderness for these 1260 days
  11. She is helped by the earth during these 1260 days - not God

Let us why the contemporary interpretation that she is Israel cannot be correct We'll compare the Woman to Genesis 37 - Josephs's dream.

  1. Israel is a physical nation - The Woman is a “sign”.
  2. The Woman is in heaven - Israel was never in heaven
  3. In Genesis 37 the sun is Jacob, a man - In Revelation 12 it is clothing
  4. The Moon in Genesis 37 is Rachel, one of FOUR mothers of Israel - In Revelation 12 it is the footstool of the Woman
  5. Eleven stars in Genesis 37 are Joseph’s brethren, none of which ever had a crown - Israel cannot rule (Matt.21:43)
  6. The TWELVE stars in Revelation 12 are worn as a crown for the Woman. That would make Rachel the ruler if a direct comparison were made. Rachel never ruled and died early.
  7. Israel were in the wilderness 40 years - The Woman is in the wilderness 42 months
  8. Israel never produced "those who have the testimony of Jesus Christ". Jesus did (Jn.12:24)

The only COMMONALITY is that in Genesis 37 and Revelation 12 is the NUMBER 12 - the number of the TOTALITY OF GOD’S PEOPLE ON EARTH AT THE TIME. This is the only similarity that fits BOTH Genesis 37 and Revelation 12. The Woman of Revelation 12 CANNOT be Israel. Joseph's dream is only similar in that it speaks of the totality of God's people on earth.

I judge that the most decisive of these is that if we can discover who the Man-Child is, the rest will be clear, and the Man-Child can ONLY BE ONE OF TWO, for to only TWO are given the power to "rule the nations with a rod of iron". They are;

  1. Our Lord Jesus (Ps.2:9; Rev.19:15)
  2. The Overcomers of the Church (Rev.2:27)

Satan’s displacement from heaven is caused by the rapture of the Man-Child. This could not be the ascension of our Lord Jesus, for in Ephesians 2:2, written some 34 years after our Lord’s ascension, Paul still calls Satan “… the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that NOW worketh in the children of disobedience.”

Satan’s displacement from heaven is at the end of the age, the Man-Child is raptured at the end of the age, not the beginning like our Lord Jesus. The Man-Child is displaces Satan when he "has only short while". After this he is bound a thousand years in an underground prison.

The Man-Child is the Overcoming Christians. In the following verses 10-11, He is called "THEY" (plural).

Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

And finally, where else in scripture do we find the constellation presented here in Revelation 12? In THREE other places:

1. The book of Galatians was written because those of the Law, those who "kept the commandments of God", tried to impose the Law on Christians. The whole book is a CONTRAST between the two. But after contrasting them over and over again, they are found SIMILAR in Galatians 4:26

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

The word "us" according to the grammar is the Church and Israel. The whole book shows the difference between Israel and the Church. But in this one verse it shows a COMMON MOTHER.

2. In New Jerusalem we have the City with WALLS which must be the Church. She has the glory of God and the testimony of Jesus in her. Attached to the city is the GATES which are the twelve Tribes of Israel. She rules forever

3. The Olive Tree of Romans 11. A Tree in parable is a king and his kingdom (Judg.9, Dan.4, Ezek.31). The Root is Holy - Christ. It has natural branches - Israel, which are cut off in this age, but grafted back in at the end of the time of the Gentiles. It has wild branches that are grafted in to this KINGDOM. In this age it is imperfect, but in the next age, with Israel restored, it is perfected.

The Woman of Revelation 12 is the Kingdom of God but not yet perfected. It testifies of God and His Christ with three seeds

  1. The Overcomers of the Curch
  2. The rest of the Christians "who have the testimony of Jesus Christ"
  3. The Remnant of Israel "who keep the commandments of God"

Seeing as these three are her SEED, she is "Mother of them all".

Do you mean literally, as those were coming from the Captivity, or metaphorically?

Thanks for the response, we disagree

The woman represents the "Remnant Church" in the wilderness, the remnant of God's heritage

Micah 7:18KJV

18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
