The quotation from Oxfam in the Guardian article title "Global food prices to rise highest ever levels after Russian invasion", seems to correlate with what will be the worst of times ever experienced by man.

“Without immediate radical action, we could be witnessing the most profound collapse of humanity into extreme poverty and suffering in memory,” said Oxfam’s international executive director, Gabriela Bucher.

Seems to me that the prediction by that Man in Palestine some 2,000 years ago is right:

 Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Revelation 6:7-8; 7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

But this is just the BEGINNING of sorrows for men. It's what comes AFTER this that is sobering.

Indeed. It will be bad for the tares.

Matthew 13:[36] Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
[37] He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
[38] The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
[39] The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
[40] As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
[41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
[42] And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
[43] Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Well that's Oxfam's bailiwick, isn't it?

Without that purpose they cease to exist. They use the fear of dearth to solicit donations and gain status.

They could be right but I find no reason to trust any organization such as Oxfam.

Typical charities give about 5% of total revenue to the stated cause, the rest is administrative cost and all tax free.

Sorry if that's cynical. World governments and global organizations have destroyed any trust I have in them.

     " Egypt…gets about 85 percent of its wheat from Russia and Ukraine. The Egyptians are now desperately looking for alternative supplies. In early March…in the Cairo area…flatbread loaves increased in price by 50 percent over the course of a week. This is an urgent issue for the Egyptian government, and beyond: The mass protests, deadly confrontations, overthrow of the Mubarak regime and temporary seizure of the country by the radical Muslim Brotherhood all began with a surge in the price of bread. War in Ukraine could lead to another revolution in Egypt, and a revolution in Egypt would affect other nations in the Middle East, and beyond.

     " “Remember, bread riots are what started the Arab Spring; bread riots are what started the French Revolution,” said Teucrium CEO Sal Gilbertie. “It is a biblical event when you run low on food stocks.” "

I saw a couple of clips on Youtube that claim the world has a 71 day supply of wheat remaining. How true this is, I don't know; but we'll see by September I guess.

New crops will be coming on, including some now in Ukraine. However, their storage capacity is nearly full, since they have been unable to export much of last year's crop from Odessa, so it is unclear if the new harvest will be able to make it onto the world market.

This whole crisis is by design, and not just by the Russians.

P. S. What do you want to bet that Biden will soon call for a major export of American grain, just like he has been exporting major quantities of the American military's weaponry? And heavily depleting the Strategic Oil Reserve to boot.

If man is doing this by design, then the famines in Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and Revelation, would be man made by design. Revelation 9:20, however, states that the plagues in Revelation 8, where 1/3 of earths environmental resources are destroyed, is caused by the love mankind has for the things his hands produce. And as the majority of things made today is through fossil fuel burning industries, I believe todays famines are primarily caused by fossil fuel burning industries.

Revelation 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

The oil industry allowed for the massive growth in agriculture, which allowed for the world's massive growth in population. But unrestrained growth always has a limit, and then there is always a collapse. That is what is happening now.

Did the UN think that they could keep on feeding large populations of people that would keep on propagating, while they never had any possibility of ever being able to feed themselves and their children? Of course not. This was by design: create the crisis, then provide the solution. The solution being a powerful global government, with control over the world's economy; not to mention the world's military.

" David Beasley, executive director of the World Food Program, said the world is now facing “an unprecedented crisis,” noting that 49 million people in 43 nations are “knocking on famine’s door.” With famine comes political destabilization, he noted.

" “We are already seeing riots and protesting taking place as we speak—Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, Peru,” he said. “We’ve seen destabilizing dynamics already in the Sahel from Burkina Faso, Mali, Chad. These are only signs of things to come.” "

" GENEVA (Reuters) - Food rations for refugees and displaced people are being cut by up to half in parts of the Sahel due to a massive funding shortfall with millions set to go hungry as prices rise and climate shocks hit yields, U.N. agencies said on Friday. "
