The Three gods of the 1960s & the Spirit's Response

I was having some dinner fellowship with a couple brothers this evening and our conversation was about the dark spirits operating in the world.  This spirit blinds people and makes them think wrong is right and energizes them to be adamant and energized about it.  One way we see this as the blatant upside-down sexuality themes that are sweeping western society now.  We're told that this is real love and to be against it is just hating.

There was then some inference in our fellowship that the enemy always tries to counterfeit God's move and that there are three deceiving spirits that go out together at different times in history.  (think antichrist, beast, false prophet).  I said, "Well think about it - you had sex, drugs and rock & roll in the 60s!"  We all agreed that these three things were true of that time and it got me to thinking.

Those three things were really what changed our culture back then.  The sexual revolution brought in an openness to a myriad of unscriptural practices and ideas that we are dealing with today.  The drugs opened people's mind to who-knows-what!?  And rock & roll helped facilitate the other two.  It's hard to imagine a more damaging triad of things!  Each one was not be an accident and there was a mind behind this that we know is only out to steal, kill and destroy us (there's that 3 again) .

But, hallelujah, God's Spirit moved mightily back in that time, to save many through the Jesus movement!   When the enemy moves to destroy man, our loving God always comes in to save!

Brothers & sisters, it's hard to imagine how things could go on in this world for much longer without Him wrapping up this age.  And as things get darker and whackier, I believe we will see God's Spirit move mightily again to save many souls gloriously!

I think many will be saved too. Remember the great multitude coming out of the great tribulation in rev. God's purpose is to save souls.

My hubby agrees and that it is escalating, and that Jesus is coming soon.

My thoughts are that rebellion expressed in these ways has always been yet as you rightly point out they have come out into the open in these last days of lawlessness abounding.

Well, no one knows except the Father, right?  We Christians see through a glass dimly.  In my fellowship last night someone pointed out the believers probably thought things couldn't get any worse when they saw fellow saints being used as torches in Rome!

In my limited view, it's just hard to conceive things going at this same pace for a lot longer.  But then again, His timing and ways are not the same as mine.

Agreed.  Each decade and age had its own version of debauchery and lawlessness - the same spirit has always been working to steal, kill and destroy.  And then at some point, the end will come after all.

As far as the USA and western civ in general, I have long suspected the pivotal point and God's likely judgement on nations is connected to Molech worship, which I equate with nations giving open approval for abortion. There has always been abortion, but I am convinced that God deals with nations differently than individuals. We can pray for change in this regard--or so it seems to me.

Some of what happened in the Jesus Movement is still happening in churches today.  In the Jesus Movement, we had certain groups that used the "love" line so they could "make love" with those whom they were trying to get to join them.  Today, we have the same "love" movement with homosexuals.  Nothing was perfect, and still isn't.  Those who did/do this speak of the only love they know, worldly love.

Yes, Satan is always trying to mimic God in every way.  Even Satan knows God has the right idea.  He just enjoys twisting it to suit his purpose.

The last thing I could do would attempt to timeline God. We still have that purple thread running through America .
Though, I believe God's clock alarm will go off when the last seeker says "I believe Lord Jesus".

I am not suggesting any timeline. I avoid that sort of thing like a do avacados.
