Pianist Anthony Burger died today after suffering an apparent heart attack. He

was 44. Anthony was aboard a Bill Gaither Homecoming cruise this week and it was

during one of today's performances when he suffered the heart attack. Anthony is

survived by his wife LuAnn, two sons and one daughter.

As you may have already heard, the award winning Anthony Burger died tonight

while on a Gaither Cruise to the Caribbean. I received word that during a

performance, Anthony was on stage playing the Dottie Rambo song, "We shall

behold Him", when he suddenly died of an apparent heart attack.

This is a very shocking time in Gospel Music after the passing of Warren

Parker, Doug Riley and now Anthony Burger. Please remember Anthony's family

in your prayers.

This is the E-mail I recieved today from a gospel group from my church.

Wow. I can't believe it. How sad for his family. Of course, it's the best thing that could have happened to him, isn't it? Imagine...playing the piano is Glory, with the heavenly host as your audience! Wow.

Hello, I'm new to this board. In fact I just joined, and as I was surfing through the board I came across this post about Anthony Burger. This is a shock. His family will be in my prayers.

That is so sad... I have a number of the Gaither Homecoming CDs. He will be so missed. It is encouraging to know that he is with Jesus, though.

Yes, my husband usually plays one of our Homecoming tapes on Saturday evenings. We saw Anthony Burger at the Florida State Fair a few years ago. Such talent!

Now playing a command performance for the King of Kings!

Right up there with Keith Green and Rich Mullins.

Boy, the songs they must be composing now!
