Guest kball Posted October 9, 2003 Share Posted October 9, 2003 I started cutting myself when I was about 12. Not allot but I did think about suicide. I came from a verbal/physical abusive father and my parents didn't show me any affection as I got older like they did when I was small. The I love you's stopped, and the hugs/kisses. People should remember that even as their kids are getting older they still need to no that they are loved. I would suggest spending allot of time with this girl showing her that she is loved simply by doing things that she enjoys doing with her and I bet she will turn around with enough love and support. I don't no the situation with her so she may need counseling as the others suggested, but I no came out of it as soon as I met my first husband and moved out of my parents home at 16. I had a husband and a baby and in return felt very loved and a reason to live. My guess is that she just needs someone to show her that. God Bless you. His only begotten son....that JESUS LOVED HER SO MUCH THAT HE WENT TO A CRUEL AND RUGGED CROSS AND TOOK EVERYTHING SHE DID SINFUL AND PLACED ON HIMSELF AND PAID FOR IT ALL...THAT HE LOVES HER SO MUCH THAT HE WAS WILLING TO SUFFER BLEED AND DIE FOR HER TO MAKE HER HIS OWN..THAT HE LOVED HER SO MUCH THAT HE DID THIS TO BREAK SINS CURSE ON HER AND GIVE HER A NEW LIFE IN HIM AND ETENRAL LIFE WITH HIM FOREVER INHEAVEN....CHILD THIS IS HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU., AND HE PROVED IT.HE MORE THAN PROVED IT. While I'm sure it seems to some ppl , that the obvious approach here would be to "sit her down" and tell her the gospel, and tell her about God's love for her, as Mr. Dare suggested, I would offer another pov: 1. this girl is certainly aware of how sinful she is. Do you honestly think that a person who is hurting themselves would NOT be feeling self-hatred, at the least? 2. for godman and Mr. Dare; I'm sure your intentions were good, but how about SHOWING this girl the love of God? You remind me of my Dad when I was young, and he almost literally BEAT me further down than I already was, with his religious spirit. He was instrumental in the liar convincing me that God would not even want to have ANYTHING to do with me, and I might as well just stop even trying to do right. If either of you are truly like my Dad was then, I feel so sorry for you and your families. It seemed judgemental and condemning somewhat, the way your post was worded. I don't know if you meant it that way or not. Jesus was about LOVE, and to children, if not all humans, "love" is most commonly spelled "T-I-M-E". The suggestions by the ladies who do or have been cutters were directly from the Lord. They carried Love, Hope, and encouragement, not to mention acceptance for the girl, herself. I suspect there might be those for whom this aggressive "take-no-prisoners"/"shoot first, ask questions later, MAYBE" approach would be just what they needed, but if this girl is to be won to the saving knowledge of JEsus-----and WHO is to say that she's NOT saved already?! ---then it will be by the sweet wooing of the Holy Spirit, in whom, BTW, there is NO condemnation. I am not the one to judge whether or not someone is saved, and neither are the rest of us. Sure this young lady has some things that need His touch, but who doesn't? They're not all this apparent, but they're all there, aren't they? May the Spirit of the One true Living God, the Creator of all that is Good, fill you to overflowing with His sweet gentleness, and love. God lets me know what to say , and when to say it.. for only HE CAN SEE THE HEART AND EVERY INTENT OF THE HEART. His only begotten son........................." this is not true, as in two of the girls i know that have been cutters, one still is, the other no longer, Both of them have knows the Word of God....... one was raped by an uncle, and sexually abused in other ways....... this one has dreams and visions of demons on a regular bassis, and the "counslers" have not been able to do a thing with her, even the meds/drugs dont help.... this one has been surrounded by demons so long and has had the Word preached at her so much, she dont know where to turn, she has all the love in the world, and it dont stop, this is where prayer and fasting come in, heavy duty....... she dont know how many different demons..... the other one that was a cutter, lived in a situation where she kept a ball bat in bed with her, for fear of her father, again, another abusive relationship, she also has heard the word of God and is being pulled back by the Spirit..... the Spirit is working on her. folks, this is not just a mental disorder, or a stress thing, dont let the enemy deceive you, this is not even an attack on the person, this is an all out invasion of the enemy into these people, the enemy is in occupation of these people, it takes lots and lots of prayer and fasting to cast out these. not just talking too, not just listening to the problems, not just any of that..... this is a spiritual thing......... not a mental thing...... mike Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But like i said.....God knows the heart and every intent of the heart and God knows when to use what scripture.... do we know more than God? please children, we do not. sometimes it takes fear to make them want to change....it is a sad fact but sometimes it does. some have rebelled against God so long they will only heed to the warning and obey the Gospel...there hearts are cold and indifferent . they see God as yes he loves me and so what...so what? thats the attitude of many today. SO WHAT? Let me ask you something. say u have talked and talked and given a young person the gospel...just talk about the love of God amen. and say that person wants no part of it...over and over u talk to them. they still reject the Lord Jesus Christ. now say you got a phone call from that young persons parents and they tell you their child died in a car accident. now we all know from the word of God if we die in our sins we will go to hell...there are no ifs nor ands ....it is a fact because the word of God declares it... now let me ask yu what do u think that young person is thinking when they have been escorted to the very gates of hell and cast in and they realize.....THIS IS IT.
