We did not exist back then. Of course ANY nation that disobeys God, will be judged. Just as any MAN who disobeys God. I fail to see why people ONLY see the evil without looking at the good. This country has it's problems but in retrospect, we are the most generous, the most tolerant, the most free, the most Christian etc.... Do not confuse confidence and strength as arrogance. Many a Goverment will not allow anyone to take part in Christanity. Some will not let you say his name in any form. There are people who have been caught teaching or taking part in an service of our Lord.They were placed in underground cells.The things they do to them are to herrid to put in words. Our President Bush is not perfect,no one is.He is a very good leader.There are thoes who would love to have his job.They are not to be trusted. It was Abraham's contention that the Lord would not destroy the good with the bad, and asked him several times that if he could find any number of righteous men, that the Lord would not destroy the cities for their sake. God then agreed, basically, that if any good were found there, that He would not destroy them. However, the task was moot because Abraham could not find even one. The only exception was for Lot and his family. Why do I bring this up? Well, in the US, there are still millions of God's children who pray for our country and for God to have mercy on us. Our leaders may fall short, and we may be digging ourselves into a hole, but I think that, based on the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, God will have mercy on us and not destroy us. The only nation supposedly to use the lion as its national symbol is England, and all the young lions thereof are speculated to be the nations born out of the British Empire, the USA being one of them.
