I am not even close to being done this thread, but as we progress I believe that people will start looking at things in a spiritual manner and then from that position deal with things in the physical realm. May God bless and later on today I'll add another long thought, Your brother in Messiah with much agape love, George

One of the most powerful methods the enemy uses to bind us up is the thought, "It won't hurt anyone, and nobody will ever know!" The temptations and the seductions of it's just a little sin creates the foothold in the believers life that leads to bondage. Footholds always lead to strongholds! Once you have fallen into the sin, then the enemy turns it from the pleasures of life -- to the condemnation of the believer. He takes an area in your life where you are vulnerable, exploits this weakness -- then goes about to try to rob, kill and destroy! Once a believer has fallen -- then the thoughts suddenly fly -- "Oh you can't be a Christian -- it's too hard!" or "There's no sense in praying now -- God's not going to answer your prayers!" Then the thoughts start really flying -- "Since you have already blown it today, you might as well just do whatever and start over tomorrow!" When tomorrow has come, the enemy places the guilt and the condemnation to the point where you are set up for failure over and over again. Now the stronghold has begun to form, when you are most weak, then the enemy attacks any link to having victory so that one stronghold forms to create other strongholds. The enemy seeks to discredit, destroy, and bring destruction to the believer and one of the easiest ways is through the sublity of sin! The key to walking the Christian walk is not about being perfect -- it's about learning to get back up! Learn from your past mistakes, and go forward in that knowledge! Repent and learn! For example, anyone who used to smoke and has quit smoking usually has to go through the process of quiting several times. Why? Because once someone quits, the thought always enters in -- "One cigarette won't hurt! -- You have quit for this long and you know you can stop at any time -- so go ahead have just one!" This is the same tactic the enemy uses with any sin! How to overcome sin? First and foremost -- you need to go to the Father and confess your sins! And ask the Lord to give you a new heart so that you can walk in victory over the sin. Learn from David! Read Psalms 51 closely! This is the Psalm, David wrote when his sin was found out. What did David do? 1. Cried out to the Lord and cried for His mercy! 2. He asks the Lord to cleanse Him! 3. He confesses his sin. Then he says -- Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Ask the Lord to create a new heart and a new spirit within you so that you can overcome sin! Then the work of restoration began in David's life. Psalms 51:12 3

Well George, I thank God that He side-tracked you to share this, it is something I really needed to read and hear! To forgive oneself even though God has already done so by our heartfelt confession, is sometimes the hardest thing to do, I have a lot of trouble doing so. Strongholds are so easy to form and so hard to tear down! Reminds me of a quote my dad taught us: "The strings of a habit are too weak to be felt until they are too strong to be broken."
