An interesting topic. I would like to hear from you all.

What do YOU think? Is Christ the Eternal Jehovah, God of the Old Testament?

First of all, are you a Mormon? a god in training? In any event since you are here let me give you the following scriptures. God is a trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and all are Jehovah. I will show you that Jesus is called Jehovah here too.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

(Isaiah 43:10) Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD (Jehovah), and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

(Isaiah 43:11-12) I, even I, am the LORD (Jehovah); and beside me there is no saviour. (12) I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD (Jehovah), that I am God.

(Isaiah 44:6) Thus saith the LORD (Jehovah) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Notice here that Jehovah states there is no other God. There is a holiness movement that believe Jesus only is God manifested in three different forms or offices.

(Acts 4:10,12) (10) Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. (12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

(Isaiah 40:3) The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness (John the Baptist), Prepare ye the way of the LORD (Jehovah), make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

(Matt. 3:1-3) In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, (2) And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (3) For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord (Jehovah), make his paths straight. Here John the Baptist calls Jesus Jehovah!

The Father is God - (Isaiah 43:10) Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD (Jehovah), and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Jesus, the Son is God - (John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This is not "the word was a God," because (Isaiah 43:10) repeated ". . understand that I am he (Jehovah): before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

The Holy Spirit is God - (Acts 5:3-4) But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? (4) Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

That's my Bro! :)

Yes, of course He is. The Scriptures plainly teach it.

See also the Creed of St. Athanasius.

An interesting topic. I would like to hear from you all.

"..... What think ye of Christ? ....." (Matthew 22:42)

An interesting question. I would like to hear from you,

Dear "a god in training"

Have you ever heard the true story about the most wondrous being who thought to become "a god in training"?

Where it all started.....

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"

"For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:"

"I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."

"Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

"They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms"

"That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?"

"All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house."

"But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet."

"Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned." (Isaiah 14:12-20)

Wow! Are you sure you really, really want to be known as "a god in training"?

Oh look here "a god in training"!

How it all ends.....

"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them." (Revelation 20:10-11)

As you may or may not know "a god in training", there is no need to join "the one who would be god" in this lake.....

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:16-17)

Dear "a god in training", a question of love you only need to answer to The Holy Father in Heaven but one you are encouraged to share with this Jesus family here at Worthy.....

"..... What think ye of Christ? ....." (Matthew 22:42)

An interesting question. I would like to hear from you,

Love, Joe

Hi Joe, you didn't answer my question. But to answer yours, Lucifer was a god before the world was. The Bible tells us this.

Lucifer was a god before the world was. The Bible tells us this.

A "god" in the sense as he was a heavenly being, an archangel of high rank. So, what does this have to do with your name? Surely you do not identify with Lucifer? Why so obscure?

Good observation. It has nothing to do with Lucifer, nor to I wish to offiliate myself with him. He certainly was a person of high rank before the world was, and it is a pity that he desired more than what God had promised to give him.

Now, to all, the reason I proposed this question is not because I am in doubt on the subject. I lived in Brazil for some time, and I saw many different religions and I often asked about their beliefs and practices. I guess you could say that I interviewed a number of leaders and members. It seemed that nobody knew whether the Father is Jehovah, or if it is Christ. People from the same congregations often contradicted one another. I wanted to see if it was the same in the States, but I find that people here are much more well informed on the topic.

Thanks for the replies.

What do you mean different religions? Only Christianity recognizes God and Jesus as Jehovah. Are you meaning other denominations? I wouldn't expect any other religion to know.

religion ~ a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

denomination ~ a religious group, usually including many local churches, often larger than a sect: the Lutheran denomination.

Floatingaxe, I always considered Christian, Mormon, Jehovah's Witnesses etc to be different religions. Even Atheism would be considered a religion, according to the definition. Hmmm, Atheism is a religion. . . I never thought of it that way before.

To me Denominations would consist of, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Protestant, Catholic, etc. All under the heading of Christian Religion[ followers of Christ]. Even the Non-Denoms have become a denomination in and of themselves.

"a g-d in training" I think it is rather a dangerous practice to consider yourself a g-d in training. Or a g-d at all. There is only one God who exists in three persons. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
