George finds himself in the Jerusalem Post

Recommended Posts

Last week there was a flood just outside of my apartment building. About 2 1/2 feet of water in the deepest part and there was a car that was stranded suddenly by the rapidly rising water. After seeing this, I felt it necessary to walk out and see if the motorists were ok. After putting on some flip flops, and shorts, I weathered the freezing weather and waded through the water. I found the car with 3 elderly people and realized they couldn't handle the freezing water. So I decided to push the car out of the flood risen waters to higher ground. I had to push the car roughly 100 + feet through the freezing water. To my surprise, a girl saw my picture in the Jerusalem Post and asked a friend of mine -- "Did George help some car out of flooded waters?" Upon which I found out that I made it in the Jerusalem Post. I thought you might be interested.

Actually what happened was I was pushing this car for over 60+ feet or so and my wife on the balcony yells to the Yeshiva across the street where there were all kinds of teens just watching the flood and says, "Someone help my husband for heaven sakes!" -- in Hebrew of course and then this young teen studying at the Yeshiva jumps into the water and helps me the last 40 or so feet when the water wasn't so deep. But the car was a pain to move through the water. As soon as I got it to dry land, I bolted and took a hot shower. It took a good 5+ minutes of hot water to regain feeling in my feet. It was freezing -- imagine -- we are in December in the mountains. It had hailed with tiny hailstones previously that afternoon of the flood. That's how cold it was.

Anyway it was interesting how I got into the paper and I didn't even know about it until someone told me about it.

Your brother in Messiah with much agape love,

George
