MorningGlory 18,339 Posted November 18, 2007 This is great....gravy is one of the things I miss most as a low carber......! But, as I reminded myself, it's not low calorie. Nevertheless, what's Thanksgiving without the gravy? Now, if I can just find a recipe for low carb dressing....... Low Carb Giblet Gravy~*~ 3 cups chicken stock 2 tablespoons butter 1 can (4 oz.) mushroom pieces 1/2 cup diced cooked turkey giblets (optional) 1/2 teaspoon sage 1 teaspoon dry onion flakes salt and pepper to taste 1/8 tsp Tumeric (for color, optional) 1 teaspoon Xanthan Gum Makes 8 Servings Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil until it thickens. Carbs = less than 1 carb per serving (Received this from a friend...no idea where it originated)

MorningGlory 18,339 Posted November 19, 2007 Aww come on...LOL!!! Thanksgiving low carb??? I wouldn't make it personally...I would dive headfirst into the cheesecake!!! Sounds like a plan to me! I know, for most, Thanksgiving isn't about watching the carbs. But for those who must, or are trying to lose weight, it's a nice thing to have alternatives to the standard high carb fare. Btw, I posted a Low Carb Cheesecake recipe too.
