'Sugar Sandwich'

i dont know what the big deal is. since i was a kid, i've been eating sour cream with sugar in it. tastes amazing.

Actually my grandmother, if she lived she would be well over 100yrs, used to make brown sugar sandwiches. You would put butter on 1 slice of bread, sprinkle dark brown sugar on it, slice the bread in half and put together the halves. I have had it in at least 50 yrs but at one time I sure did like it :th_praying:

Scotland is not the same as England.

Neither is Wales (sorry, LadyP) :thumbsup:

Sugar in sour cream is good in recipes ..

ever try sour cream dip with fruit? :)

that is why I am willing to try the sugar sandwich..

I can understand why you dn't eat it .. ..

But I knew some Brittish gals and when they came to America they are the ones who "introduced" our family to it..

I know it is not a spacifically Brittish but Scottish but I do know the Brits eat it too...

I was not fond of it either.."not my cup of tea" :blink:

Plain ol' sour Cream and sugar on Bread???? EWWWWW

But here is something I have tried........a Bannana Sour Cream Cake!!!! Now that is Amazing!

(recipe at Kraft online)

*****Plain ol' Sour Cream is best for Baked Taters' and Tacos!!!

Although I did see a fella recently smother sour cream all over the top of a Great Ribeye...gross!!!
