  1. .... and again what relevance?????

I Wonder What You Are Doing On Worthy. Posting ideas. How about you?

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matthew 2:1-2

And If You Actually Think It Wise To Mock God's Holy Words

About as wise as commenting on the Koran or the Iliad or the Decameron.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

    Brother, Are You Teachable?

Some say yes, others not so sure.

But I certainly was once and got the diploma to prove it. What about you?

There are two main sections to Worthy Boards, the Inner Court and the Outer Court. The Inner court is designed for fellowship and discussion among those who know Jesus Christ as Savior. The outer Court is an area where we allow anyone who wishes to learn more about our belief to ask questions and learn. Those who join Worthy who do not claim Christ as Savior will be designated "nonbeliever'. This designation will mean that they will only be able to post in the Outer Court area. They can read every part of the Forums, but their discussions will be limited to one area. http://www.worthychr...tion=boardrules

    Jesus Saves

    From what?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

    Science (Ignorance)

Really? I doubt you actually believe that. But we can find out real quick. You have disinfectants in your bathroom? (Thought so) :kiss2: :kiss2:

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:20-21

    Don't

    See above

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Romans 1:19-22

    You See?

    Believe

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

    And Be Blessed Beloved

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:20-21

    Love, Joe

Another unsupported assertion. You have any actual evidence to support this?

  2. Reading Is A Privilege Not A Right

Actually it is neither. It is a skill. And that is relevant here . . . how?

    Strangely, Most Won't Read {Scripture}

    Correct. And what relevance… ?

And Yet Strut About So Proud (In Their Ignorance)

To support that you first define what "Ignorance" you are referring to.

Believe {in Jesus} And Be Blessed Beloved

An unsupported assertion and again what relevance?????

  3. II have no idea that can be supported by actual evidence. Neither do you. :biggrin2:

    Taste

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalms 34:8

    And Know

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

As I said, neither do you. As you have just demonstrated. :biggrin2:

  4. I was speaking with a troll in the chatroom tonight, and I didn't get a good opportunity to go over evolution with him, so I thought I would put my thoughts down here.

People that believe in evolution say we came from pond scum. But, how can that be where life originated? Has pond scum always existed, or do we need to break it down to smaller components, like molecules, or atoms, or protons, or neutrons, or electrons? How about smaller than that? They all have mass, so how did the mass come into being?

Which brings me to the big bang theory. The theory is that, one day a singularity happened, the big bang occurred and that is how it all began. But, to make a massive explosion like that, you would require a whole lot of energy. But, as we all know, in theory, energy equals mass times the speed of light squared. So, in order to have the energy required to initiate the big bang, would need a whole lot of mass moving at the speed of light. Where did the mass come from? How did it start moving?

How can the amount of mass required to create the universe exist before the universe? Something had to create the mass, something had to move it to the speed of light, and theoretically, only light can travel at the speed of light. So, let's say that the entire mass of the universe started out in particles smaller than atoms, and somehow it all gravitated towards the center of the universe at the speed of light, collided together like in an infinitely sized super collider and the big bang happened. That mass had to come from somewhere, we can break it down to the 10^-100000000000000. . . .but mass cannot create mass. An object, no matter how small, at rest must remain at rest until an outside force puts it in motion.

Motion is energy, even the smallest particle had to start at rest. So, what energy, absent mass travelling at the speed of light squared, initiated the creation of the Universe?

You cannot have pond scum without energy and you cannot have energy without mass. You cannot have motion without an outside force first initiating it.

Sounds like the big bang is a big bust. . .

If the big bang did happen, Who lite the fuse on this big firecraker, call the Big Bang? :mgdetective:

II have no idea that can be supported by actual evidence. Neither do you. :biggrin2:

  5. OK, arguendo, the universe is the result of a supernatural being(s) and was deliberately created every atom, every life form.

    So what?

WHAt being? How do you know? Why your favorite invisible friend and not Zeus? And assuming such creatures existed WHY would they care?

  6. Definitions of a cult:

1/ Group adulation of one human leader and founder, personified to almost deity-like status.

2/ Peer pressure by other members of the cult to conform to the rules and principles as laid out by the leader. Pressure to conform may be aggressive in nature.

3/ Criticism of the cult leader forbidden.

4/ Contact with outsiders limited or forbidden altogether. Access to outside information limited or censored.

5/ Internal Peer pressure encouraged by the leader. Cult members expected to inform on each other and report any dissidence. Vigilante activity within the cult is encouraged to keep subordinates in line. Members may be expected to die for causes to the cult or for the leader.

Christianity is definitely NOT a cult (although there may be cults claiming to be Christian).

According to the above definitions there is one major World religion that would be classified as a cult. I'll leave you to guess which one that is!

I'm not good at guessing. Care to be more specific.
