It's a vision. It is a graphic way to tie the elements of Joseph's dream to the situation that John is seeing.
To speculate further:
The woman of Rev 12 stands on/is supported by/is rooted upon/grows out of the "moon" of Joseph's dream, which is clearly Joseph's mother.
Clothed with the sun, again against the backdrop of Joseph's dream, would seem to suggest the authority or house of Jacob. A lord's authority was often expressed in his robe. The embroidery of the hem could be impressed onto a clay tablet as his "signature", etc. Those under a lord's authority are said to be under his hem (Ruth 3:9).
The crown of twelve stars is pretty obviously the twelve tribes or twelve sons of Jacob. The woman of Rev 12 has these sons as her crown, her crowning achievement, her signature characteristic, the thing she most proudly displays.

The woman is Israel, in the sense that she, through the generations, has been the line through which the "seed of the woman" of Gen 3 would be brought forth. She is Israel, in the sense that she begins with Eve.
Fleeing to the wilderness here is analogous to Mat 24:16, those in Judea fleeing for the mountains.
Between v5 and 6 is an example of the "church gap", where scripture that deals with Israel seems to move straight past "us", and continue the thought as though our time didn't happen.
I don't get "what is meant by 1260 days"? -It means 1260 days, or 42 months, etc. What is ambiguous here?

Because God has and had other "future" plans in which the devil will play a part in. When those future plans are finally fulfilled then the devil and the wicked angels that rebelled with him will get their due punishment. Sometimes having patience is a hard thing living in this wicked world with all of it's hazards and sufferings. But we as believers must as James said "let patience have her perfect work" when our faith is being tried because we shall reap everlasting life if we faint not. It gets weary I know listening to the news and all the violence and killing and the uncertainty going on around us and we just scratch our heads in disbelief utterly astounded at the depth of depravity some people will go to in their wickedness apart from the God of the Bible. Sometimes our personal lives are touched with death of loved ones, depression and longing to be free and all of it sometimes makes us ask the "why" questions.
Why didn't God deal with Satan right from the start when he rebelled against God whenever he was lifted up in his pride. Why did God delay the punishment of Satan from the start. But we have to remember and always trust in the plan and will of God which we have been given which is the written word of God and all of it will come to pass in due season and in God's chosen order of things. Even if we do not have all the answers to everything and all the answers to all the "why" questions. Being believers we have to walk in and live by faith we must simply trust and obey the "part" that we have been given. That part in which we have been given in this life will one day pass away and we will know in full. There will be no dying there, no heartache, murder, terrorists, hatred, no sin whatsoever, no crying, no more suffering of any kind, no more devil(yes and amen) to tempt the hearts of man, no demons or wicked angels in the kingdom of darkness, no more spiritual warfare with Satan and his army for they will be brought down and destroyed and burn "forever" in the lake of fire.
Take comfort from the words in scripture and know for a certainty the devil will have his end it will come to pass. Jesus told his disciples his followers when speaking and given the signs of the end-time events that will take place in the earth and he said that when all these things comes to pass "the end is not yet". But the end will come but it will be according to God's plans and in his time. God is Soveriegn and he knows far better than we what he is doing and why he is doing it the way he has chosen to do it that way. HE understands his own plans in full we only know in part. But all the promises of God are yes and amen and God is not slack concerning his promises there will be a new heaven and new earth the former shall pass away and behold the new shall come. Eye hath not seen nor ear hath heard of all of what God has got layed up in store for us. We must be patient in waiting for it because the trying of our faith will come out as "precious gold" and in due season we shall reap everlasting life. It may look and seem like sometimes the devil has gotten away with things but it isn't true for in "due season" he will come to his prophesied end foretold to us in the scripture.
Does God know the end from the beginning ? why did He make something that He knew would rebel in the first place ?

`Why has God allowed the Devil to continue?` you ask. Many people wonder that too. But as the others have said it is a part of God`s plan. We know that God is a God of justice.
`Ascribe greatness to our God! The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness & without injustice, righteous & upright is He.` (Deut. 32: 4)
Wonderful words & thoughts.
Now God could take out Satan anytime He wants, as He is all powerful. However God is not a Dictator, ruling just by might. He rules righteously. So He is showing to `principalities & powers,` the right way to govern. Satan usurped power over mankind & now has `legal,` control of each person, as we all succumb to him. However Christ, when manifested as a man, never gave over His right over the earth & thus Satan has no control over Him. So all who come to Christ are now able to overcome the enemy.
This is a great subject for it brings out the great victory of our Lord in every realm & by `legal` means not by just superior strength & power. Remember that the great Lord of glory at His most vulnerable time in the garden & on the cross, could have called on 12 legions of angels to rescue Him. But no. Christ overcame by being the substitute for our sins & because Satan had no claim on Him, Christ rose triumphant from the grave. And we will too. How utterly astounding that will be!!!!!

There are seven trumpets mentioned in the Book of Revelation (Rev.8:6). From the first trumpet to the seventh trumpet the world will be undergoing the Great Tribulation (Rev. 8:7-13; 9:1-21 Rev 16:1-21). It is only at the seventh trumpet after the tribulation Jesus appears for His Church

The Word of God divides the 70th Week of Daniel (seven years) in two.
Daniel 7:25, Daniel 12:7, Revelation 12:14 (time, times, half a time)
Revelation 13:5, Revelation 11:2 (forty two months)
Revelation 12:6 (1,260 days)
Indicating that there will be two tribulation periods in the one seven year time frame. One will be the Great Tribulation (in the end) the other will be a tribulation period for the saints.
Thus the rapture will take place in the middle of the 70th Week (which is not classical mid-trib eschatology which teaches one seven-year tribulation).

There are no possibilities with regards to Eve deceiving Adam. The serpent deceived Eve. Eve was not the serpent.
I guess that is a lesson for anyone who wants to claim ignorance when they sin....that is, when a person hears the truth, knows the truth and then proceeds anyway.
I think problems occur when someone wants to peak behind the curtain that has already been raised on the scene

Eve knew not to eat from that tree. Lets suppose Adam told her not to touch the tree. So what? That isn't going to cause her to be deceived. The deception was from the serpent, in that he told her she would not surely die. That wasn't even a lie. She didn't fall down dead immediately, but she did eventually die.
As for Adam, he was not deceived into believing it was ok to eat the forbidden fruit. There are two possibilities. Either Eve saw that she didn't immediately die, and she brought the fruit to Adam and he ate, not knowing where it came from, or he saw she had eaten it and now had the advantage of knowing good and evil, and he wanted the same knowledge so he ate. That would be outright rebellion, but not a deception. The woman did know better. She was taught properly.
Lets look at this example. Lets say I have a small child, and I know there is a danger in him playing in the road, so I tell him not to play in the road, lest he be run over, but I add one thing to this. I tell him not to play in the road, and not to even get near the road. He knows not to go in the road, lest he could get run over, and I added that extra thing about not going near the road for his added safety. Eve thinking it was wrong to touch the tree didn't mean she was misinformed.

When they see construction on the 3rd Temple begin in Jerusalem a couple years before Daniel's final seven, what will be there emotional response? Will they embrace it or become more hostile?
Ezekiel on his side predicted exactly to the month and year when Israel would become a nation again, and it happened May 1948. That's almost amazing as Daniel's prophecy when he said when Jesus would be cut off or the prophecy of the Tetrads needing to be completed before the 7 year peace treaty can take place. Anyone predicting when the final seven would take place needed to take into account Rev. 6.12 must occur (all 3 events in order) before Daniel's final seven.

Are you saying there that people that don't believe in a pre-trib rapture won't be raptured out if a pre-trib rapture occurs? If so, I would like to know why it would matter what one believes on a timeline of Christ's Return would have to do with being taken, or made to stay....and some scripture stating that.

Yes the Bible actually does.
Paul had a specific purpose in mind when he wrote these letters to Timothy and that purpose was to remind him of the authority he had to preach against false teachers and their distorted doctrines, this is the entire theme it is soaked up in Pauls letters to Timothy. ( Please everyone keep this context in mind as we discuss the authority of woman)
1 Timothy 2:11-15 Empowers Woman

A woman in quietness let learn in all submissiveness
Paul pushed hard that woman should learn, why? Because Ephesian women in particular were being led astray by false teachers ( Remember context?). Evidence of this can be found in 2 Timothy 3:6-7. Paul decried that some were turning away and following Satan in 1 Timothy 5:15.
Therefore Paul DEMANDED woman learn sound doctrine first to avoid being deceived from false teachers
διδάσκειν δὲ γυναικὶ οὐκ ἐπιτρέπω, οὐδὲ αὐθεντεῖν ἀνδρός, ἀλλ’ εἶναι ἐν ἡσυχίᾳ. (original Greek text)
to teach however a woman not I do not permit nor to use authority over a man but to be in quietness
The Greek word for authority is authenteó
a. according to earlier usage, one who with his own hand kills either others or himself.
b. in later Greek writings one who does a thing himself the author" (τῆς πράξεως, Polybius 23, 14, 2, etc.); one who acts on his own authority
Therefore, its meaning is not authority in general, but an undue, stolen authority. ( Interesting??)
So if we look at everything in context, Paul's letter to Timothy about false Teachers and then addressing woman as they are busy getting deceived by false teachings, let them learn sound doctrine first before they can Teach others with legitimate authority.
In other words the text reads as follows that while a woman is learning, “I do not permit women to wrongfully teach or to exercise illegitimate authority over a man, but [she is] to be in humble quietness.”
1 Timothy 2:11-15 does not bar woman from ever becoming pastors ( Teachers). Woman have just as much Biblical right to become preachers that have been taught with sound doctrine and exercising LEGITIMATE authority over a man as much as Male pastors have who have been taught sound doctrine and exercising LEGITIMATE authority over fellow men.
This rubbish of twisting that Paul tells us that the reason women are not to teach or exercise authority over men in the church is that Adam was created first and then Eve. Therefore it’s the created order and Man is the head of the church. What complete utter nonsense.
That’s not what Paul is meaning or even teaching, theologically Adam received God’s commands in Genesis 2:16 before Eve even came on the scene. Adam was supposed to teach Eve, but either Adam taught poorly or Eve learned poorly, and she was set up to be DECEIVED. This doesn’t let Adam of the hook Paul wasn’t letting Adam off as we see in Romans 5 shows that Paul clearly understood that sin entered the world through a MAN. Adam’s sin was his rebellion

While I do agree that women can serve as Pastors, so long as they are not Bishops, as the Bishop must be the husband of one wife and a woman cannot meet that qualification, I reject the conclusions of InChrist. There is no evidence Adam taught Eve wrong. She knew full well that she was not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and told the serpent that if she did, she would surely die.

The glaring error on Eve's part is her mishandling of God's Word. She added to it, saying neither shall ye touch it....clear indication she did not fully understand God's command...Hense why sound doctrine is so important because if we add anything to God's words, Satan has a key to deceive us. It is extremely dangerous to add to God's Word.

God had stated emphatically that death would be the consequence of eating of the forbidden fruit, but Eve changed this to "lest ye die," meaning that "ye might die."....again clear indication Eve did not understand God's commands, in other words she did not have sound doctrine...Thus, the groundwork for the Fall had already been laid through adding to and altering the Word of God. Hence why Eve could be so easily deceived...which is again very clear how you have been deceived.
