New to apologetics so please bear with me in gaining understanding? Why does Jesus not say in the beatitudes"blessed are those who believe, for they shall inherit eternal life? What could be more blessed than faith in Christ? But He said: blessed are the merciful, they shall obtain mercy! I thought we obtain mercy or forgiveness of our sins by faith alone in the shed blood of Jesus!
