  1. Hi David, please consider that John was also talking to Gnostics - believers who did not believe in sin. Therefore, "we" was a general statement that people sin. Also notice with the "children" and "fathers" that the believers had different levels of spiritual maturity, i.e., not everyone was born again.
  2. I don't see contradictions here. Please consider that not everyone who believed the Gospel was born of God.
  3. My point is that if I say that I am sinless, or know someone who is, this is not going to prove anything to anyone if we don't understand the Sriptures.
  4. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. (Luke 16:31)
  5. Thank you for your response. In Romans chapter 7, Paul described himself BEFORE the Holy Spirit came, for contrast. And in chapter 8 he shows the change the Holy Spirit made. Please compare: What a poor man I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank my God by Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore the same I with my mind serve the law of God, but with my flesh the law of sin. (Romans 7:24,25) There is therefore now no condemnation to those who in Christ Jesus, who do not live according to the flesh, but according to the spirit, because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1,2) Also, please consider Romans 6: Thanks be to God that you, who were formerly slaves to sin, have have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which you were entrusted. But then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness. (Romans 6:17,18). Notice that Paul speaks of himself in chapter 7 as a captive of sin, and in chapters 6 and 8 as having been delivered from the captivity of sin.
  6. Regarding the scripture (1 John 3:9). "No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God 's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning," - it is not a literal translation, but the interpretation of the translator with adding words to "help people understand" what the scripture means. It is not an advisable practice. Young's Literal Translation every one who hath been begotten of God, sin he doth not, because his seed in him doth remain, and he is not able to sin, because of God he hath been begotten.
  7. Hello, David. Thank you for your thoughts. Regarding "we". "We" is used as a general statement that all people sin. With the exception that those who are born again don't sin anymore (1 John 3:9). Let me give an example. During the war in some country, the president may announce in his speech, "We all will defend our country and fight to the last bullet". It is a general statement which does not mean that the president personally will fire a single shot. Please consider 1 John 3:6: ...whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. If "we" in 1 John 1 are those who are born again, who "have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled", and also who sin (1John 1:8), than it is in direct contradiction to 1 John 3:6,9.
  8. Are you sure that Paul's thorn in the flesh was sin? Where is it written?
  9. I think there is no need to suggest anything, because John's words are very clear: Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9)
  10. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9)
  11. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:31-36) Did the Savior free the believers from sin?
  12. I hope it is going somewhere, for you and those who are reading. Let me answer your question, "So, if I don't use the name you say I need to will I go to hell?" First of all, I don't want you or anyone to use the name I say because I said it. I want everyone to do his or her own investigation to make sure this is true (1 Thess 5:21). Most importantly, Our Creator repeatedly told people to praise and glorify His Name, that He devastated the nation so that His name would be known (Exodus 9:16). He comanded to worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:24). He said that whosoever calls on His name will be saved (Romans 10:13). As I said before, it is between you and the Creator. Are you convinced that He is pleased when the believers don't care to know and praise His Name? This is why I asked you and so far received no answer, "Could you show me in the Bible where His Name does not matter? That we can call Him as we want?" As for me, I would like to do what is pleasing in His sight.
  13. The Creator is not a rose, and Yahweh's thoughts are not Shakespeare's thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9). This is between each of us and the Creator. Could you show me in the Bible where His Name does not matter? That we can call Him as we want?
  14. This apparent contradiction exists because the true names and titles were removed from the Scriptures. Briefly, Moses, Aaron and 72 elders of Israel saw Elohim (Exodus 24:9,10). Yahshua said no one has seen the Father, Yahweh (John 1:18). Father, Yahweh - Spirit in abstract invisible state (John 4:24, Acts 17:28). He took on visionary shape and form (in part) as Elohim, Word, Christ (Exodus 24:9,10; ). In this form He appeared to the prophets. Later Elohim became flesh (John 1:1-14).
  15. It is so good to see that the true name of the Savior, Yahshua, is being glorified!
  16. I am glad to hear that. I believe that every believer's desire should be to "worship the Father in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23). Therefore, it is important to know and glorify the true names of the Father (Yahweh) and the Son (Yahshua).
  17. I don't agree with this logic. For example, there are questions about salvation, but it does not make salvation unimportant. What does our Creator think about the importance of the Name? And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the Lord [Yahweh] God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. (Exodus 3:15) my people shall know my name (Isaiah 52:6). for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
  18. "Fuss" - a show of anger, worry, or excitement that is unnecessary or greater than the situation deserves (Cambridge Dictionary). Do you think that knowing the true names of the Father and Son is unnecessary or unimportant?
  19. I agree that the original Hebrew name was not "Jesus", but Yehoshua or more correctly, Yahshua. Therefore, the name "Jesus" was not chosen by divine instruction, because it is a man-made name. Yehoshua/Yahshua means "Yahweh saves" as you said. Therefore, this is a true name, because the Messiah came in His father's name (John 5:43). "Yeshua" means "he saves" and therefore it is a different name.
  20. Was the Savior given a Greek name at birth?
  21. Proper names are pronounced the same in different languages. For example, even though Michael is the English variant of the Russian name Mikhail, when Gorbachev visited the US, he was called Mikhail Gorbachev and not Michael. It would have been a sign of disrespect.
  22. It is interesting that AI does not want people to know the name of the Father and the Son. Do Christians know? Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (Matthew 6:9) I came in my Father's name and you received me not (John 5:43). Surprisingly, no one stated the name of the Father. Can "Jesus" be the original and true name of the Son when there is no letter "J" in Hebrew and Greek?
  23. Psalm 83:18: that they may know that you alone, whose name is the LORD, are the Most High over all the earth (English Standard Version) That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. (King James Bible) May they know that You alone— whose name is Yahweh— are the Most High over all the earth. (Holman Standard Christian Bible) So, is Father's name LORD, Jehovah, Yahweh os something else? What is the name of the Son?
  24. Can someone simply state: The original name of the Father is ... The original name of the Son is ... So far, it looks like nobody knows.
  25. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13. What is the name of the Lord?
