If you are implying that Paul was only speaking to those in his presence at that time, then you would have to follow that line of thinking all through the New Testament and none of it would be relevant to us today.
If that were true then Paul and those he was talking to would have been caught up because he said "we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds".
But, it is not true that he was only speaking of them. The fact is , the Bible is our guide in every situation today and is to be applied to every part of our lives.
WHEN shall we "----be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air---" ???
Matthew 24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Since no one knows, then be ready to meet Him now and it will not matter when it happens!!
