  1. That's true, but to us, you guys have departed from the faith.
  2. I know that it must have been mistranslated because of the errors that are contained therein. Unless God made those mistakes. And I highly doubt that. For the most part, we do have the contradictions covered, largely because of modern day prophets that are in contact with God. Yes, we do use the King James Version of the Bible. And even though that contains many of the same contradictions, we've learned through modern revelations that it is the most correct of the various versions out there. I was originally taught by a missionary, but I've gained a testimony of the truth through the power of the Holy Spirit. Much in the same way that you came to believe that Jesus Christ is your savior. Yes, it is the fulness of the gospel, but it completes the gospel, it doesn't replace it. The Bible contains many aspects of the Christian faith, but our scriptures complete it. A lot of what we believe was originally going to be part of the Bible, but through various circumstances, the books were lost to the world. Despite being full of contradictions, the Bible is still an essential part of salvation. Most of it is right and if we are guided by the Holy Ghost, we can decifer what is wrong.
  3. Hey, Smallcald. Yes, we believe the Book of Mormon is inspired by God just like the Bible. If there is a contradiction between the two, if that happens, I'm unaware of any such event, but if they did conflict, most Mormons would probably do what the Book of Mormon says. I don't know if I would, though. And yes, we believe in continuing revelation. We have modern day prophets and apostles just like the primitive church. The Book of Amos says, "Surely the lord, thy God shall do nothing lest it be through his servants, the prophets.
  4. [ Then you must not also believe that the Bible was inspired by God. What makes you think that the Bible is incomplete? I mean, how did you first arrive at that conclusion?
  5. First off, yeah, I'm Mormon. Secondly, I believe the Bible is a priceless thing, but I believe that it is incomplete. I don't believe it is infallible, there are many precious truths that have been lost over the years and more is needed in order to embrace the fulness of the gospel.
  6. It's pretty hard to make us see a different point of view because we believe what we do as strongly as you believe in your faith. This question can also be flipped the other way around. How do I get non mormons see the truth, because to me, mormonism is synonomys with truth. I see all other church's doctrines as incomplete.
