  1. We sometimes get so focused on the mechanics and details of being a Christian, evangelizing, and developing others that we sometimes miss the moment.

Example, tomorrow, the neighbors are coming over for dessert and I was thinking that I as a good Christian should do something to determine their spiritual standing and share my faith. I was planning how to work things into the conversation and what to discuss. Then I started to worry, what if I turned them off?, and I realized, I was developing my own agenda for tomorrow!

Why couldn't it just be about them coming over tomorrow? Why did I feel I had to make sure Christianity came up? Why was I worried if I'd do it right?

Sure you should study dance and know the techniques and styles, but your movement needs to be coordinated with the moment. In professional dancing, mastering the techniques and giving a perfect performance is key to how you are evaluated. But for most, dancing is a social activity. Let's take the club scene, most common place for dance. You and you partner hadn't practiced a routine prior to coming, and most likely you aren't even that familiar with your partner. Your partner doesn't expect you to dance perfectly, or even know sophisticated moves. Just move with the beat, keep off of her toes, and dip her once and a while.

Sharing your faith should be the same way. Don't worry about perfection, don't step on their toes, have a few tricks up your sleeve, and most importantly be in that moment with them.

So tomorrow, when my neighbors come over I won't have an agenda, I'll just be me and move with the beat.

Hey Rose: I had a interesting experience Aug 31, yesterday. My Brother who I love dearly has been going through a rough situation in his personal life. Over the years I have shared Jesus with him and I pray every day for his salvation. We were moving him into a new home and I have said stuff in the past about Jesus and His love for him. Yesterday was about helping and blessing him in moving his belongings into a new home. I know that by being there I was showing the best of the Lord by being a helping hand to my brother.

I was definitely in the moment, without agenda. Showing the love of Jesus to all that were helping. God bless and thanks for sharing these thoughts. :)

  2. FAMILY

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,

"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.

    He said,"Please excuse me too,

    I wasn't watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.

We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,

How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,

My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down,

"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken,

    I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,

God's still small voice came to me and said,

    "While dealing with a stranger,

    common courtesy you use,

but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,

You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you,

He picked them himself, pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,

you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,

And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed,

"Wake up, little one, wake up." I said

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"

He smiled, I found 'em, our by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you,

I knew you'd like 'em especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today,

I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."

He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.

    I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,

and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

    FAMILY

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are

working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.

But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more

into work than into our own family,

    an unwise investment indeed,

    don't you think?

So what is behind this story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

    FAMILY = (F) ATHER (A) ND (M) OTHER (I) (L) OVE (Y) OU.

I don't take credit for this as a friend emailed this to me. I pray that you are blessed and thank the Lord for you FAMILY. :emot-wave:
