  1. I know it is still early times but am I right in thinking, after reading this, that your certainty comes from Jesus having made you good?
  2. "Translation" and "interpretation" in the Bible mean the same things.
  3. It seems to me that in saying that you were not convinced, you mean that your "experience" did not go the way YOU wanted it to go! That does not make our belief a belief in an imposter. Please don't re-interpret my words to suit your argument. I ended up homeless, destitute and out of my head.
  4. To those who answered 'Bible' Which Bible? Which translation? Which interpretation?
  5. My own experience did nothing to convince me. I just want to know if you had any signs or evidence to reassure you.
  6. I have no intention to disparage your remark or, for that matter, your belief however, it seems to me that when you say 'only God' you ignore a possibility. The prince of lies could easilly do anything that God can do. Even to the extent of impersonating God. My own experience did nothing to convince me. I just want to know if you had any signs or evidence to reassure you.
  7. I know that I am a stupid, fallible, ignorant human being. Please resist the urge to tell me so. I have a simple question to ask of the
  8. Evolution Various dictionaries define the word evolution in different ways, mostly having to do with Darwinian thinking. However, the word evolution existed long before Darwin gave us the benefits of his wisdom. Before and since Darwin, the word meant (and means)
  9. Excuse my ignorance but who or what is lol?
  10. I was talking about the name. I was born in a different Bangor, North Wales. So I can't answer questions about Ulter. Sorry. In fact I was looking up Irish web sites only the other day.
  11. Jesus made a fig tree wither because he found nothing on it except leaves. Matthew 21:18 & 19 Are you comparing me to a fig tree with nothing on it but leaves? If you are right I expect I'll be withering soon.
  12. Phil it sounds as if your trying to save the world. Brother you can't, not even Christ could for He would have convinced the Pharisees/Roman/Judas He was real. You also have to remember not all who call on the Lord are Christians in His eyes. Why don't you find fellow devoted Christians in you community who are willing to take up the Cross and spread the Gospel and work in His name, find satisfaction with the impact you can make and not with the one you can't. Actually, I thought I was only asking that we love one another.
  13. At this point I would just like to reformulate my original thesis. 3,000,000,000 people could achieve anything they set themselves to do, without compromising their free will. The rich countries could solve all economic problems and still make a profit. However, before any of that became possible, they (including you and me) need to have the will. The longest and hardest journey must of necessity begin with a single step. This 'thread' has convinced me that that won't be happening soon. Arrogant beggar aren't I?
  14. God calls each individualy to service. But didn't Jesus heed the call of the weak and opressed ? It has always been my understanding that He identified more with them than with the 'saved' Answer God's call by all means, but don't be deaf to man's call.
  15. My Father, rest his soul, often said "TACT is always a good TACTic" I waited sixty years to hear that again.
  16. To be honest, I don't see my attitude as very different to yours.
  17. Sadly you are right. However in my defence, My attitude is a response to my experience reading these pages. You would need to be me to know it.
  18. It is a very noble cause that you minister to the homeless. I don't have any homeless people where I live. What would you suggest I do? You have to want to do such work. I believe that if you really want to you will find a way. Asking stupid people like me seems lik a BAD idea.
  19. It isn't your responsibility to see that we do our part or accept responsibility for our actions, inactions and consequences. It is not for you to judge for our personal relationship with Jesus that allows us to grow and He takes care of all that. Why are you so concerned about other believers actions when you should be thinking only of your own. It's rather condescending to look at us through your eyes. I'm sorry, I haven't got any others.

  21. This isn't the first time this question has been asked. I hate to blow my own trumpet but here goes. I have worked as a carer and with homeless people. I have long been associated with my own homelessness initiative dealing with those unfortunates that others neglect known as tramps. please don't ask again.
  22. I'm yelling BECAUSE no one agrees. I find that sad. Half the world's population SHOULD be able to make the world a better place, don't you think? What am I doing. Writing to the uncaring. Not a lot then eh?
  23. I am writing this here since I can't find any way to contact those concerned. If you know how please pass it on. Subject: On checking my 'posts' I found myself creditted with 'posts' which I did not post. I have also received notifications of posts which have nothing to do with me. Please excuse the liberty. Mac.
  24. I am absolutely NOT a NON-BELIEVER. I just ask that fellow believers accept responsibility for their actions, their inactions and their consequences and set higher standards for themselves than they do for others. Not too much to ask.
