  1. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International CorrespondentWorthy News JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Israel’s government said Sunday that an Israeli-Moldovan rabbi who disappeared in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was killed in a “heinous antisemitic terror act” and indirectly blamed Iran for his murder. Zvi Kogan was found dead Sunday in the Emirati city of Al Ain, which borders Oman, around 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Abu Dhabi, said former Israeli Druze politician Ayoob Kara and other sources. His car was discovered in Al Ain, about an hour and a half from his home, and there were signs of a struggle in the vehicle, Israeli media reported. Israeli officials suspect that several Uzbek citizens recruited by Iran attacked the rabbi and later fled to Turkey. Kogan had been under Iranian intelligence surveillance, Worthy News learned. The 28-year-old Kogan, who also holds Moldovan citizenship, was a representative of Chabad, a religious movement of Hasidic Jews with communities, synagogues, and other institutions in many countries. The organization explained that he was among Chabad emissaries who ” expanded Jewish life in the Emirates. ” Kogan had been missing since Thursday afternoon when he was apparently abducted in Dubai, where he ran a kosher market, Chabad and others said. SEEKING JUSTICE Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the killing and warned that “The State of Israel will use all means at its disposal to bring the criminals responsible for his death to justice.“ Israel’s President Isaac Herzog also expressed outrage over the rabbi’s death and thanked Emirati authorities for “their swift action.” UAE officials said the nation was in shock over the rabbi’s death. Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of Great Britain and the Commonwealth, Ephraim Mirvis, called the assassination a “devastating blow for peace.” If confirmed, the killing was due to put additional pressure on Tehran, which has been linked to several high-profile killings, including of Jews. Iran is suspected of kidnapping and later killing Abbas Yazdi, a British-Iranian national, in Dubai in 2013, although Tehran has denied involvement. The Islamic Republic also abducted Jamshid Sharmahd, an Iranian-German national, from Dubai in 2020, taking him back to Tehran, where he was executed last month, Israeli sources said. There were at least 33 assassinations or abduction attempts in the West in which local or Israeli authorities alleged an Iran link since 2020, according to court documents and government statements. 2. by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – Turkey has seen a surge in anti-Christian hate crimes since 2020, International Christian Concern (ICC) warns in a new report. Muslim-majority Turkey ranks 50 on the Open Doors World Watch List 2024 of the top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted. According to an analysis by ICC, 52 hate crimes against Christians have now been reported in Turkey since 2020. Notably, there were ten recorded hate crimes against Christians in 2021, and that figure more than doubled to 22 in 2023. “The crimes include property damage, harassment, and violence,” ICC said in its report. Moreover, ICC noted: “The true number of hate crimes is likely higher than what has been reported due to victims’ fear of ostracization.” In a statement about the situation facing Christians in Turkey, the Open Doors Christian advocacy organization explains in a website statement: “Although conversion from Islam to Christianity is not legally forbidden, anyone who is not a Muslim, or who converts to a different faith, is seen as a disloyal Turk. Christians are viewed as a negative Western influence, and those who choose to follow Jesus—whether from Islam or secularism—can face pressure from their families and communities to recant their faith.” “Even Christians from minority ethnic backgrounds, such as Greeks and Armenians, are feeling the pinch in the form of various legal and bureaucratic challenges. And given that religious affiliation is registered on the electronic chip inside ID cards, it’s easy for employers, particularly those with connections to the state, to discriminate against believers,” Open Doors reports. 3. Friend, experience it! Genesis 22:1 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested (Hebrew word len-a-sot, to try) Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am." John 6:5-6 Then Jesus lifted up [His] eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" But this He said to test (Hebrew word, lenasot, to try) him, for He Himself knew what He would do. James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials (nisayon (noun form of lenasot)), knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have [its] perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. The testing of Abraham's faith was repeated by YHVH throughout the patriarch's entire life. The tests grew greater as his life advanced, and through everyone, whether Abraham passed or not, YHVH proved Himself to be his friend over and over again. Every test or "trial" involved a serious challenge or threat in which Abraham had to trust that the LORD knew what He was doing, asking, or requiring, and that His goodness and faithfulness were unquestionably reliable. This type of testing or trying of faith is displayed throughout the Scriptures. In an entirely different setting, Yeshua (Jesus) asked His disciple Philip a question, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" The purpose of the question was simply to try Philip's faith. The Hebrew, "lenasot" "to try, or test", in the Greek is "pi-ras-mos", which carries an interesting connotation: "proving by experiment". James, the Lord's brother, speaks of the "testing of our faith", as well. Though we often think of this testing in negative terms, James exhorts us to "count it all joy", never mind that it's virtually certain there will be little pleasure in the experience of any trial. The fact is that trials function as experiments, and experiences, which serve to prove and improve our faith. In the Hebrew New Testament (Brit Chadasha) the word for "trial" is "ni-sa-yon", which also happens to be the word for "experience" and "experiment". So the trials we experience are literally, experiments upon our faith. And while it is clear that God Himself does not tempt us, we also know that He allows our faith to be proven by experience, and experimentally verified. Faith is not based on experience; it is based on revelation from God. But it's genuineness is tested by experience. And it ought to be growing through every trial, producing a deeper comprehension of God's faithfulness. Friend, your faith is being proved to be genuine through testing and trial; experimentally and experientially, just as was the faith of Abraham, Philip, and every true saint of the Lord. For while faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen -- it will be proven in, by, and through the very hard experiences and realities of your life. This is not accidental but very much in the plans and purposes of the Lord. 4. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News reporting from Budapest, Hungary BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán says Hungary won’t comply with a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) calling for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In a show of defiance, Orbán invited his Israeli counterpart to visit Hungary, saying the ICC’s ruling would not be applied in Hungary as “we will not follow its provisions.” The world’s top war crimes court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant, alongside Hamas commander Mohammed Deif on Thursday. The warrants accuse them of “crimes against humanity” related to the 13-month armed conflict in Gaza. Israel claims that Deif was killed in a July airstrike, but Hamas has denied he died without providing evidence to the contrary. The outspoken pro-Israel Orbán described the ICC’s call for the arrest of Netanyahu as “outrageously brazen and cynical” and motivated by politics. He regards the move as an “interference in an ongoing conflict in legal disguise.” PROVIDING SECURITY Orbán pledged that Hungary, a European Union and NATO military alliance member state, would provide security to Netanyahu when he visits the country and prevent his arrest. In comments monitored by the Worthy News Europe Bureau in Budapest, he said the ICC warrant would completely discredit the reputation of international law and could “add fuel to the fire” in the troubled Middle East. The right-wing Orbán stressed he had “no other choice but to oppose” the ruling, saying Hungary would help ensure a safe visit by his political ally. “We solely consider the quality and state of Israel-Hungary ties … Israel’s prime minister will be surrounded by suitable security to conduct substantive talks in Hungary,” he added. Orbán’s comments were remarkable, as his Central European country currently holds the rotating EU presidency, and all 27 European Union member states, including Hungary, are part of the ICC. The court argues that its members, 124 in total, must detain suspects if they step foot on their soil. However, experts say the ICC cannot enforce this in practice. EU’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the ICC’s decision should be “respected and implemented” by all ICC states, but Hungary rejected his assessment. ‘PROVOCATEUR-IN-CHIEF’ Orbán is seen by his critics as the “EU’s provocateur-in-chief” has long been at odds with Brussels over themes ranging from supporting Israel’s leadership to the war in Ukraine, migration, LGBTQ+ rights, and rule-of-law issues. Besides Hungary, Netanyahu could still travel to dozens of nations that are not ICC parties, including China, India, Israel, Russia, and the United States. Ukraine will soon become the 125th ICC member. Ironically, the Netherlands, where the party of pro-Israel and anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders won the elections, said it would arrest Netanyahu. Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp said, “The Netherlands implements the Rome Statute one hundred percent,” referring to the Hague-based court’s founding treaty Veldkamp was to visit Israel next week, but Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar axed his trip over his comments supporting the ruling. Other EU member states, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, and Slovenia, also said they would arrest the Israeli prime minister on their soil. However, Israel’s ally Germany and EU members such as the Czech Republic, France, Italy, Slovakia, and non-EU nation Britain declined to confirm whether they would detain Netanyahu. And with the opinions of other EU nations still uncertain, Hungary has become the EU’s only safe haven for Netanyahu. 5. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News TEHRAN/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Iran warned Friday it is launching “new and advanced” centrifuges to rapidly enrich uranium because the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog censured the Islamic Republic for failing to cooperate fully with the agency’s monitoring and inspection. The censure resolution adopted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) late Thursday could lead to penalties against Iran, including more economic sanctions. The IAEA also told Tehran to provide answers in a long-running investigation into uranium particles found at two locations that Tehran did not declare as nuclear sites as required under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. Sources familiar with the closed-door vote in Vienna, Austria, said the agency’s Board of Governors voted 19 to 3, with 12 abstentions, for the censure, despite intensive lobbying by Iran and its foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi. He reportedly urged officials of countries on the board, including Algeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Pakistan, and South Africa, to oppose the resolution by Britain, France, Germany, and the United States. The three votes against were cast by Russia, China, and Burkina Faso, Worthy News learned. POWERFUL MACHINES Soon after Thursday’s vote, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the Iranian foreign ministry condemned the passing of the resolution. They said Iran’s nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami “issued orders” to launch new and advanced centrifuges, powerful machines that spin rapidly to enrich uranium, despite global concern. “The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran issued an order to take effective measures, including launching a significant series of new and advanced centrifuges of various types,” said the organization, and Iran’s foreign ministry issued a statement. It added, however, that “technical and safeguards cooperation with the IAEA will continue, as in the past” and within the framework of agreements made by Iran. However, Israel and its allies have expressed concern that Iran is close to having one or more nuclear weapons that could further destabilize the Middle East. A confidential report leaked earlier this week suggested that Iran defied international demands to rein in its nuclear program and increased its stockpile of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels. MANY KILOGRAMS That report said that as of October 26, Iran had accumulated 182.3 kilograms (401.9 pounds) of uranium enriched up to 60 percent, an increase of 17.6 kilograms (38.8 pounds) since the last IAEA report in August. Uranium enriched at 60 percent purity is just a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90 percent. The latest standoff comes at a critical time, ahead of Donald J. Trump’s return to the White House. Trump’s first term in office was marked by a tense period with Iran, as the U.S. president pursued a policy of “maximum pressure” against Tehran. In 2018, Trump unilaterally withdrew America from Iran’s nuclear deal with world powers andimposed even harsher sanctions that weakened Iran’s economy further. 6. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News PORT-AU-PRINCE (Worthy News) – The humanitarian medical organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) says it is “heartbroken” to suspend its operations in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, for the first time in three decades due to deadly violence. MSF, also known as “Doctors Without Borders,” made the decision after the alleged killing of two patients they were treating by Haitian police officers. The incident took place last week as violence continued to worsen in the country. MSF said that on November 11, one of its ambulances carrying three young men with gunshot wounds was stopped by Haitian law enforcement officers. Apparently supported by a paramilitary self-defense group, the men attacked the vehicle, removed two of the patients, took them outside the hospital grounds, and executed them. The humanitarian group denounced the violence in a strongly worded statement last week, saying their personnel had been tear-gassed and held against their will for several hours. While that incident appears to have been the final straw for MSF in Port-au-Prince, it was not the only recent example of extreme aggression against their staff. DOZENS KILLED An estimated 25 people were killed in Port-au-Prince on Tuesday alone in what police say was a foiled attempt at a gang invasion of a wealthy neighborhood. Politically, the situation also remains critical, with interim Prime Minister Garry Conille fired this month by the country’s ruling council – less than six months after he took office. Christians are among those suffering as well in the violence-ridden Caribbean nation. Several missionaries and clergy are known to have been kidnapped and killed, often by violent gangs. Earlier this year, a U.S. missionary couple Natalie Lloyd, 21, and her 23-year-old husband David and Jude Montis, a 20-year-old Haitian, were killed by gunmen as they left a church. In a similar incident in 2021, 17 North American missionaries were kidnapped and held east of Port-au-Prince. Five were released, and 12 ultimately escaped by using stars to navigate through dense bush. Missions in Haiti for which the killed couple worked has been operating in the country since 2000 and is primarily focused on helping Haitian children. 7. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News MOSCOW/KYIV/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed Thursday his military fired “a new intermediate-range missile” into Ukraine in response to Kyiv firing American and British long-range missiles. Earlier, Kyiv had claimed that Russia launched an “intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM)” toward Ukraine, apparently referring to the new weapon that could carry nuclear warheads. Although U.S. officials claimed Russia had only “a few” of the newer missiles mentioned by Putin, it marked a significant escalation of an armed conflict in which hundreds of thousands of soldiers are believed to have been killed. In a video statement to the nation, Putin said the use of the new weapon was a response to the United States and Britain permitting Kyiv to fire their long-range missiles deep into Russia. “In combat conditions, one of the newest Russian medium-range missile systems was tested,” Putin said, adding that it was a hypersonic, ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. The new weapon was part of a larger missile attack on Dnipropetrovsk, home to critical military-industrial plants. ICBMs, which are designed to deliver long-distance nuclear strikes, have never been used in war before. “On the morning of November 21, 2024…Russian troops attacked the city of Dnipro (facilities and critical infrastructure) with missiles of various types. In particular, an intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation,” the Ukrainian Air Force said in its statement on social media platform Telegram. BALLISTIC MISSILE Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said later that the new Russian weapon had “all characteristics — speed, altitude — [of an] intercontinental ballistic missile.” Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said Russia struck Ukraine with an “experimental” intermediate-range ballistic missile that was based on its RS-26 Rubezh ICBM. Singh explained that Russia had informed the United States it would be launching the experimental missile shortly beforehand through “nuclear risk reduction channels.” She added that the new weapon had a smaller warhead than some other missiles Russia has launched into Ukraine. A U.S. official who asked not to be identified told the media that Putin “was seeking to intimidate” Ukraine but added that Moscow only had a few of the “experimental” nuclear-capable missiles. However, Putin warned that the war could become a broader military confrontation involving more nations. He said the “regional conflict in Ukraine, previously provoked by the West, has acquired elements of a global character.” He added, “We are developing intermediate—and shorter-range missiles as a response to U.S. plans to produce and deploy intermediate—and shorter-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.” STORM SHADOW Ukraine fired a dozen British Storm Shadow cruise missiles deep into Russia on Wednesday after launching U.S. ATACMS missiles, prompting Moscow to warn that it is lowering its threshold for the use of atomic weapons. Britain and the U.S. had previously opposed the usage of such weapons inside Russian territory, but they changed their position following the arrival of more than 10,000 North Korean troops to help Russia’s military. Witnesses said Kyiv fired up to 12 Storm Shadows, which have a range in excess of 250 kilometers( 155 miles), into Russia’s Kursk region, which Ukrainian forces have partly invaded. Earlier on Tuesday, Kyiv launched for the first time the U.S. ATACM, capable of hitting targets at up to 300 kilometers (186 miles), firing at a Russian arsenal in the Bryansk region on Ukraine’s northern border. Separately, US President Joe Biden agreed to give Ukraine anti-personnel land mines in a move to slow Russian troops who have been steadily advancing in Ukraine’s east in recent months, U.S. sources said. Such mines would reportedly be delivered soon after Kyiv pledged not to use them “in densely populatedareas.” Yet the developments added to mounting concern in Europe that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, launched in February 2022, could lead to a world war. In recent days, millions of Europeans have been advised to stock up on food, water, and medicines. FRESH ADVISE Perhaps nowhere is that as clear as in Scandinavia, where millions of Swedes will start receiving copies of a pamphlet advising the population how to cope in the event of war or another unexpected crisis. Neighboring Finland has also just published its fresh advice online on “preparing for incidents and crises.” Norwegians recently received a pamphlet urging them to be prepared to manage on their own for a week in extreme weather, war, and other threats. During the summer, Denmark’s emergency management agency emailed Danish adults about the water, food, and medicine they would need to survive a three-day crisis. In a detailed section on military conflict, the Finnish digital brochure explains how the government and president would respond in an armed attack, stressing that Finland’s authorities are “well prepared for self-defense.” In other European countries, people are also encouraged to stock up on food and water for at least three or four days and on batteries for lights, radios, and mobile phones. “We certainly live in strange times,” said a bartender at an Irish Becketts pub in Budapest, Hungary, talking to Worthy News.“People are even stocking up on food and water.” Yet, with war just hundreds of kilometers (miles) away, people could still be seen drinking Guinness beer from Ireland. If it’s up to Hungary’s government, Budapest remains peaceful as it does not want other European nations to become involved in the Ukraine-Russia war. 8. by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – President-elect Trump announced Thursday evening that he is nominating former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as the next U.S. Attorney General. This follows his previous nominee, Matt Gaetz, withdrawing his candidacy for the position earlier in the day. Bondi, a Republican, served as the 37th Florida attorney general from 2011 to 2019, the first woman to hold the position. She also defended President Trump as one of his lawyers during his first impeachment trial in 2020. “Pam was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, where she was very tough on Violent Criminals, and made the streets safe for Florida Families,” Trump stated in his announcement. “Then, as Florida’s first female Attorney General, she worked to stop the trafficking of deadly drugs, and reduce the tragedy of Fentanyl Overdose Deaths, which have destroyed many families across our Country. She did such an incredible job, that I asked her to serve on our Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission during my first Term — We saved many lives!” “For too long, the partisan Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans – Not anymore. Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again,” he continued. “I have known Pam for many years — She is smart and tough, and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter, who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!” Gaetz withdrew his nomination as attorney general following meetings with U.S. senators, who had reservations about his candidacy due to his controversial actions in Congress, including his role in the removal of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. “I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday,” Gaetz announced his decision on X. “I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition.” Shortly after Trump’s announcement, Gaetz posted on X, praising Bondi as “a stellar selection” for attorney general by Trump. “Pam and I worked closely together when she was Florida’s Attorney General and I chaired Criminal Justice in the state house,” he wrote. “She’s a proven litigator, an inspiring leader and a champion for all Americans. She will bring the needed reforms to DOJ.” The post President Elect Trump Announces New Nominee for Attorney General After Gaetz Withdraws appeared first on Worthy Christian News. 9. By Sarah Roderick-Fitch | The Center Square (Worthy News) – The cases against two men from Jordan accused of illegally attempting to enter Quantico Marine base have been dismissed. The U.S. Department of Justice filed motions to dismiss charges filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Oct. 3. A federal judge ordered that the matter be dismissed “without prejudice.” In earlier court appearances, the Jordanians identified as Hasan Y. Hamdan and Mohammad K. Dabous were released after being charged with misdemeanors stemming from a May 3 incident for attempting to “trespass” on the headquarters of the U.S. Marine Corps, home of the FBI Training Academy and the military’s top criminal investigative agencies. The case garnered national attention, including pleas from Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who demanded answers from President Joe Biden’s administration. The duo’s identities were finally disclosed at the end of July following exhausted efforts made by congressional leaders in addition to Youngkin. Prior to the recent dismissal, the Department of Justice accused the pair of “unlawfully go[ing] upon a military installation for a purpose prohibited by law, to wit: knowingly and intentionally entering Marine Corps Base Quantico,” according to court documents. During their July court appearance, Hamdan and Dabous were granted release upon condition to appear for “all future court appearances,” including immigration appearances they have “pending.” They were ordered “not further trespass on Marine Corps Base Quantico or any other military installation.” Potomac Local News first reported the May incident. The pair claimed to be Amazon subcontractors while attempting to enter the base; the truck driver reportedly ignored commands by security officials to wait while officers tried to identify the men, who did not have identification. The driver then “hit the gas” and hit a barricade deployed to stop the truck, according to sources. The breach has been the focus of multiple congressional investigations into similar incidents reported at various U.S. military installations, demanding answers from the federal government. 10. by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – In an unprecedented move, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over the war in Gaza that places the leaders at risk of being detained across over 120 member states of the ICC. The ICC cited credible evidence suggesting that Netanyahu and Gallant were involved in committing the war crime of using starvation as a method of warfare, along with crimes against humanity that included murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts. The warrants prevent Netanyahu and Gallant from entering any of the ICC’s 124 member states. Both Israel and the US, which are not members of the court, have strongly criticized the court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant. Josep Borrell, the EU’s outgoing foreign policy chief, emphasized on Thursday that the decision was judicial rather than political and should be respected and enforced. He stated on X, “These decisions are binding on all States party to the Rome Statute, which includes all EU Member States.” Netanyahu condemned the arrest warrant, labeling it “anti-Semitic.” “Today marks a grim moment in the annals of nations. The International Criminal Court in The Hague, originally founded to safeguard humanity, has now turned against humanity itself,” Netanyahu stated in a video shared on the social media platform X. The antisemitic decision of the international court in The Hague is a modern Dreyfus trial, and it will end the same way. pic.twitter.com/e1l8PMghrB — Benjamin Netanyahu – בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) November 21, 2024 Across the United States, leaders from both sides condemned the ICC’s decision. “Let me be clear once again: there is no equivalence—none—between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security,” stated US President Joe Biden in his initial response to the ICC decision, which he slammed as “outrageous.” Senator John Thune of South Dakota, the newly elected leader of the Senate Republicans, criticized the ICC for its “outrageous, unlawful and dangerous” actions, which he said “threaten Israel, but left unchecked they could pose a threat to the United States in the future.” He called on his Democratic counterpart, Schumer, to bring a bill to the US Senate that would sanction the ICC, warning, “If he chooses not to act, the new Senate Republican majority next year will.” President-Elect Trump’s designated national security adviser, Mike Waltz (R-FL), stated on X, “You can expect a strong response to the antisemitic bias of the ICC and UN come January,” referencing the time when Trump assumes office. “The ICC has no credibility, and these allegations have been refuted by the US government,” Waltz continued, adding, “Israel has lawfully defended its people [and] borders from genocidal terrorists.” Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) also criticized the ICC and its prosecutor Karim Khan, remarking, “The ICC is a kangaroo court and Karim Khan is a deranged fanatic. Woe to him and anyone who tries to enforce these outlaw warrants,” as stated on X. He added, “Let me give them all a friendly reminder: the American law concerning the ICC is called The Hague Invasion Act for a reason. Think about it.” The post ICC Issues Arrest Warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant appeared first on Worthy Christian News. View the full article
  11. By Christen Smith | The Center Square (Worthy News) – Bob Casey Jr. is finally ready to say goodbye. Seventeen days after the polls closed, the two-term Democratic senator called Republican challenger Dave McCormick to congratulate him on his win. “As the first count of ballots is completed, Pennsylvanians can move forward with the knowledge that their voices were heard, whether their vote was the first to be counted or the last,” he said in a video posted on X. The concession comes after 16 of 67 counties finished recounting ballots cast, with results showing Casey falling even further behind. Of 702,000 ballots tallied again, McCormick, who declared victory three days after the election, increased his lead by seven votes. During my time in office, I have been guided by an inscription on the Finance Building in Harrisburg: “All public service is a trust, given in faith and accepted in honor.” Thank you for your trust in me for all these years, Pennsylvania. It has been the honor of my lifetime. pic.twitter.com/RSXEFwdge8 — Bob Casey Jr. (@Bob_Casey) November 21, 2024 The close margin – less than 17,000 ballots or 0.2% – triggered an automatic recount last week, to which Casey could have objected. Counties have until Tuesday to finish the job. 12. Elizabeth Gregory, spokeswoman for McCormick, said in a release “there’s only five more days until the obvious happens.” “Another day closer to this waste of time and money being over,” she said. “We all know how this will end. 13. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News STOCKHOLM/KYIV/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – With Ukraine firing Western missiles deep into Russia and Moscow not ruling out using nuclear weapons in response, millions of Europeans are urged to prepare for an escalation of the armed conflict. Perhaps nowhere is that as clear as in Scandinavia, where millions of Swedes will start receiving copies of a pamphlet advising the population how to cope in the event of war or another unexpected crisis. “In case of crisis or war” has been updated from six years ago because of what the government in Stockholm calls “the worsening security situation,” which means Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Neighboring Finland has also just published its fresh advice online on “preparing for incidents and crises.” Norwegians also recently received a pamphlet urging them to be prepared to manage on their own for a week in extreme weather, war, and other threats. During the summer, Denmark’s emergency management agency said it was emailing Danish adults about the water, food, and medicine they would need to survive a three-day crisis. In a detailed section on military conflict, the Finnish digital brochure explains how the government and president would respond in an armed attack, stressing that Finland’s authorities are “well prepared for self-defense.” JOINING NATO Sweden joined the NATO military alliance only this year, deciding, like Finland, to apply after Moscow expanded its war in 2022. Norway was a founding member of NATO. Unlike Sweden and Norway, the Helsinki government has decided not to print a copy for every home as it “would cost millions,” and officials said a digital version could be updated more easily. “We have sent out 2.2 million paper copies, one for each household in Norway,” said Tore Kamfjord, who is responsible for the campaign of self-preparedness at the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB). In other Western countries, people are also encouraged to stock up on food and water for at least three or four days and on batteries for lights, radios, and mobile phones. Among other attacks against Israel, a drone strike claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded 24 others at a military base in the Golan Heights in early October. According to sources cited by the Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath, the Biden administration has told Iraq it has run out of “all means of pressure on Israel,” and called on Baghdad to take swift action to stop the Iran-backed attacks on the Jewish state. Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar himself called on the UN Security Council to demand Baghdad stop the attacks by paramilitaries in Iran’s “axis of resistance,” TOI said. On Wednesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani reportedly responded to Sa’ar’s statement by accusing Israel of seeking a pretext to attack Iraq, TOI reports. At the same time, however, Al-Sudani reportedly directed Iraq’s security forces to block paramilitary activity by forces that are not under the Iraqi government’s control, TOI said. 16. by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – A former Muslim teacher in eastern Uganda was murdered by his Islamist brothers last month, less than three weeks after leaving Islam and putting his faith in Christ, Morning Star News (MSN) reports. Wanjala Hamidu was a teacher at Swidiki Islamic School in Nankoma, Bugiri District, when he became a Christian during an evangelistic event in Bulange on October 4, MSN reports. He was 32. Hamidu’s community soon learned of his newfound faith, and the principal of his school was planning to fire him, MSN said. On Oct. 21, four of his brothers arrived at the school and ordered Hamidu to renounce Christ, MSN reports. When he refused, the brothers began to beat him. “When we arrived, we found Hamidu on the ground held tightly by his three brothers bleeding as the brothers were shouting, ‘Infidel, infidel, shame, shame to our family,’” a witness told MSN. “Soon he was dead and lying in a pool of blood,” the source said. “He had deep injuries in the head and chest from a sharp object that hit him.” The brothers had fled by the time police arrived. An investigation was opened but MSN reported on November 20 that the murderers had not yet been found. 17. by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – As part of an ongoing crackdown on Nicaraguan Catholics and Evangelical Christians, Nicaragua’s dictatorial regime has expelled Bishop Carlos Enrique Herrera, president of the Nicaraguan Episcopal Conference, to Guatemala, Christian Daily International (CDI) reports. ‘ Herrera was arrested after a meeting with members of the Episcopal Conference in Managua earlier this month, CDI reports. He was deported to Guatemala where he is staying at a residence of the Order of Friars Minor, to which he belongs. Concerning the banishment of Herrerra, Nicaraguan Miguel Mendoza of media in exile reported: “The bishop of Jinotega, Monsignor Carlos Enrique Herrera, has been exiled from Nicaragua. First, they shut down the diocese’s Facebook page, and then they expelled him from his own country—all because he called the Sandinista mayor Leónidas Centeno sacrilegious for disrespecting the Holy Mass by ordering loud music and dances, which made it impossible to hear the service last Sunday.” Herrera is the third bishop of the Episcopal Conference to be expelled by the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, CDI reports. “Hostility toward Christians in Nicaragua continues to intensify, with those who speak out against President Ortega and his government viewed as destabilizing agents,” the Open Doors international Christian advocacy organization explains in a website report. “The situation has deteriorated significantly since 2018, when widespread protests broke out against the country’s dictatorial regime. Christians have been among those to raise their voice—but it’s coming at an alarming cost.” Ruled by the oppressive dictatorial regime of Daniel Ortega, Nicaragua ranks 30 on the Open Doors World Watch List 2024 of the top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted. 18. by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – The Pentagon announced Tuesday that the US will be sending Ukraine a further minimum of $275 million in new weaponry to continue its fight against the Russian invasion that began in February 2022, the Associated Press reports. The new tranche of weapons will be provided through presidential drawdown authority which allows the Pentagon to quickly get them off the shelves to Ukraine’s front line, AP said. Tuesday’s announcement follows US President Joe Biden’s decision on Monday (November 18) to give Ukraine the authority to fire longer-range missiles deeper into Russia. Biden’s decision then caused Russian President Vladimir Putin to officially change Russia’s nuclear doctrine by lowering the threshold for using nuclear weapons. “US officials contend that Russia’s change in nuclear doctrine was expected, but Moscow is warning that Ukraine’s new use of the Army Tactical Missile System, known as ATACMS, inside Russia on Tuesday could trigger a strong response,” AP noted in its report. The latest tranche of weapons to Ukraine include air defense High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, Javelin anti-armor munitions, and other equipment and spare parts, US officials told AP. In addition to the new weapons, the Biden administration is set to send Ukraine its portion of a $50 billion loan that is backed by frozen Russian assets before President-elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20, AP was told by US officials. 19. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News MOSCOW/KYIV/BUDAPEST (Worthy News) – Ukraine fired a dozen British Storm Shadow cruise missiles deep into Russia on Wednesday after launching it is U.S. ATACMS missiles, prompting Moscow to warn that it is lowering its threshold for the use of atomic weapons. Russian war correspondents reported Wednesday’s strikes on social media, and an official confirmed them on condition of anonymity. A spokesperson for Ukraine’s General Staff said he had no information. Earlier on Tuesday, Kyiv launched the first use of the U.S. ATACM, firing at a Russian arsenal in the Bryansk region on Ukraine’s northern border. In response, Russia announced “a change to its nuclear doctrine,” making it easier to use atomic weapons. Washington said it sees no need to adjust its nuclear posture but accused Moscow of “resorting to irresponsible rhetoric.” WESTERN EMBASSIES The missile strikes came as several countries, including the United States, briefly closed their embassies in Kyiv, fearing massive Russian retaliation. The U.S. later said the embassy would reopen on Thursday. The Pentagon also announced that the U.S. would give Ukraine $275 million in military aid, including more ammunition for theHIMARS rocket system. Additionally, the administration of outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden moved to forgive $4.7 billion in the U.S. loans to Ukraine. It was part of last-minute efforts to boost Ukraine’s resolve ahead of expected peace settlements under the next president, Donald J. Trump. Several sources said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin “is open” to discussing an Ukraine ceasefire deal with Trump. However he reportedly rules out making any major territorial concessions and insists Kyiv abandon ambitions to join the NATO military alliance. ENDING CONFLICT In exchange for Ukraine’s neutrality, the country would receive security guarantees from the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, Britain, France, China, Russia and the United States, Worthy News learned. U.S. President-elect Trump has vowed to swiftly end the armed conflict when returning to the White House, as hundreds of thousands of soldiers are believed to have been killed on both sides. Critics say Biden’s decision to allow the usage of the ATACMS, or Army Tactical Missile System, surface-to-surface ballistic missiles, could complicate peace talks. Yet analysts said the use of these missiles, which are capable of hitting targets at up to 300 kilometers (186 miles), may not much change realities on the ground. Moscow controls about 20 percent of Ukraine, about the size of the American state of Virginia. However Russia is advancing at the fastest pace since the early days of the 2022 invasion, according to military experts, ahead of possible peace talks. 20. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News JERUSALEM/WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – President-elect Donald J. Trump has selected Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, to serve as his U.S. ambassador to Israel during mounting tensions in the Middle East. The post requires Senate confirmation. Trump said, “Mike has been a great public servant, governor, and leader in faith for many years. ” “He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East!” Huckabee, a devout evangelical Christian, served as Arkansas’ governor from 1996 to 2007 and unsuccessfully sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 and 2016. After leaving the office, the 69-year-old hosted a show on broadcaster Fox News and a radio program. Trump also said he would nominate Republican Matt Gaetz of Florida, one of his fiercest defenders, to serve as his attorney general despite concerns about his alleged past conduct. ALLEGATIONS INVESTIGATED Gaetz was investigated several times for allegations of wrongdoing, and several Republican senators expressed reservations about supporting his nomination. “Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations, and restore Americans’ badly shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department,” Trump said in published remarks. “On the House Judiciary Committee, which performs oversight of [Department of Justice] DOJ, Matt played a key role in defeating the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax,” Trump added, referring to Gaetz’s defense of him during his first impeachment. The House Ethics Committee revealed in June that it was investigating Gaetz on allegations including sexual misconduct, drug use, and obstruction. Gaetz has denied all wrongdoing and maintained his innocence throughout a Justice Department probe — closed last year — into allegations that he violated sex trafficking laws and obstructed justice. Federal prosecutors in Florida did not file charges against him in the case of Worthy News learned. Pete is tough, smart, and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down,” the president-elect said in a statement. Trump praised Hegseth’s military record as an Army combat veteran who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay. Hegseth, 44, was a co-host of “Fox & Friends Weekends” and author of the book “The War on Warriors: Behind the Betrayal of the Men Who Keep Us Free,” which rails against what he calls the “warped, woke, and caustic policies of our current military.” Among other nominees are Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, Todd Blanche as Deputy Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as as Health Secretary, Russ Vought as Office of Management and Budget Director, Elise Stefanik as U.N. Ambassador, and Border Czar” Tom Homan. 21. By Stefan J. Bos, Chief International Correspondent Worthy News JERUSALEM/TEHRAN (Worthy News) – Tehran has condemned three European nations for pursuing a new censure resolution against Iran at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) after a leaked report showed the country is expanding its stockpile of uranium enriched to near-weapons-grade levels. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi cited efforts by France, Germany, and the United Kingdom to pass their fourth resolution since 2020 during the United Nations nuclear watchdog’s board meetings, which start on Wednesday. “This move…is in clear confrontation with the positive atmosphere created in engagements between Iran and the IAEA, and will only make the issue more complicated,” Araghchi told his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot in a phone conversation, according to Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The announcement came as the IAEA warned that as of October 26, Tehran had 182.3 kilograms (401.9 pounds) of uranium enriched up to 60 percent, an increase of 17.6 kilograms (38.8 pounds) since its last report in August. This level of enrichment is just a technical step from 90 percent enrichment, considered weapons grade, enough to develop a nuclear bomb quickly. Earlier this week, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Tehran hopes that Wednesday’s IAEA meeting, which is expected to pass a resolution against the Islamic Republic, will remain free of “political pressure.” Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei Baghaei told reporters at a press conference that the Islamic Republic hopes Britain, Germany, and France will “allow the issues between Iran and the [IAEA] agency to continue in a technical way and away from political pressures and considerations.” NUCLEAR WEAPON However, Israel and its allies fear Iran will soon develop a nuclear weapon, further escalating wars between the Jewish nation and Iran’s proxies in Lebanon, Gaza, and other areas. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned this week that Iran was “more exposed than ever to strikes on its nuclear facilities,” Worthy News learned. “We have the opportunity to achieve our most important goal—to thwart and eliminate the existential threat to the State of Israel,” he added. IAEA director Rafael Grossi expressed concerns about a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. “I say this with regards to Iran … nuclear installations should not be attacked,” he said in an apparent message to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Yet with Iran just “about 12 days” away from developing one bomb’s worth of fissile material, according to U.S. officials’ patience was running out in Israel and among allies. As we were talking, he happened to mentioned some disappointment about a friend canceling a fishing trip they were to going to enjoy. I replied, “Bro, maybe the Lord wants you to go fishing for men today!” He quickly answered that he’s much better at fishing for fish than he is at fishing for men. “At least the fish bite every now and then.” he said. “Well,” I asked, “But how much practice have you really had in fishing for men?” So many of us make excuses, reasoning that we’re just not good enough at sharing the gospel to do it regularly. But really -- how often do we practice? We can’t get good at something with out putting in the practice! Friend, let's really try to talk about the Gospel regularly. 23. by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – California and the Pacific Northwest are facing severe weather, power outages, and falling trees amid a “bomb cyclone” which began to bear down on the region on Tuesday and is expected to last until Friday, the Associated Press reports. A “bomb cyclone” is a rapidly intensifying storm system in which the central pressure drops by at least 24 millibars within 24 hours. Such cyclones can bring strong winds, heavy precipitation (rain or snow), and coastal flooding. The National Weather Service has warned that severe rainfall is likely to affect areas from the south of Portland, Oregon, to the north of the San Francisco area in California, AP reports. Hurricane-force winds above 75 mph (121 kph) were recorded along the Oregon coast, while Seattle, Washington saw conditions for a “mountain wave,” an atmospheric wind phenomenon that can have serious effects on the weather, aviation, and the environment,” AP reports. “Be aware of the risk of flash flooding at lower elevations and winter storms at higher elevations. This is going to be an impactful event,” meteorologist Richard Bann said in a statement quoted by AP. “Numerous flash floods, hazardous travel, power outages, and tree damage can be expected as the storm reaches max intensity” on Wednesday, the Weather Prediction Center warned. 24. by Emmitt Barry, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – The United States vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza on Wednesday, proposed by ten non-permanent council members. The resolution sought a “permanent ceasefire” and the release of hostages in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. The veto sparked criticism from other members, with a senior U.S. official accusing them of rejecting compromise efforts. The 15-member council voted on a resolution put forward by 10 non-permanent members, calling for an “immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire” and the release of hostages. The U.S. cast the sole dissenting vote, using its power as a permanent member to block the motion. The United States told the UNSC that they would only support a resolution that explicitly called for the immediate release of the hostages as part of a ceasefire agreement. This is the fourth Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza that the U.S. has vetoed since the war began. 25. by Karen Faulkner, Worthy News Correspondent (Worthy News) – A detailed report by the US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) published this month states that the Biden-Harris administration has been aware of a recent “dramatic” increase in illegal child labor among migrant children but has taken no meaningful action to prevent it. Moreover, the report asserts the Biden-Harris administration has failed to cooperate with state and local investigations into the exploitation and trafficking of unaccompanied migrant children (UCs) and has even obstructed congressional oversight of the issue. The report follows a formal investigation launched by Bill Cassidy, a Louisiana GOP Senator and Ranking Member of HELP, into the treatment of UCs and the record high levels of illegal child labor under the Biden administration. The report will not be easily dismissed as party political hackery as, among other things, Cassidy was one of just seven GOP senators who voted to impeach President-elect Trump following the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. Cassidy launched the HELP investigation after reports began to come in early last year of a “disturbing” rise in illegal child labor to levels not seen in about 100 years. “This was coupled with the fact that a record number of unaccompanied children (UC) began crossing the southern border beginning in March 2021, a trend that has continued to this day,” the HELP report explains. Placing the blame for the crisis “squarely” on the Biden administration, the investigators found that “top administration officials knew about the dramatic increase in illegal child labor, but took no meaningful steps to prevent its occurrence.” Indeed, the report says: “Tens of thousands of UCs were sent to emergency facilities that were not state licensed, had poor living conditions, and provided little to no educational or mental health services or outdoor recreation activity.” Moreover, the administration is accused of refusing to cooperate with the HELP investigation. “The Biden-Harris administration is also failing to cooperate with state and local investigations into the exploitation and trafficking of UCs,” the report says. “The Biden-Harris administration also obstructed congressional oversight,” the report continues. “When Ranking Member Cassidy sent a number of letters to HHS demanding answers on its failures to protect UCs from harm, the agency routinely took months to respond and refused to answer the specific questions asked. Further, HHS purposefully chose to not comply with nearly every document request and sought to block its contractors from sharing information with the Committee, including refusing to produce contracts HHS is required to produce under federal law,” the report attests.
