So to traverse any infinity is contradictory? So therefore: a) We can infer that there must have been a first uncaused cause and b) We can rule out the idea that that uncaused cause had existed forever - that is, that it had been in existence for an infinite ammount of time past Would you be agreeable with that summation? The uncaused first cause existed before time and space therefore is not limited to time and space and can not be measured. If God is the uncause first cause and created time He cannot be measured by time. But stand outside of it.

A Christian should be put off by a screen name of Scientific ATHEIST! But it doesn't mean that we don't care and aren't praying for you! II Cor. 6:14 "....Therefore what fellowship does light have with darkness" -

that is a very good question. Even though I am probably not giving you an anwer to your question directly, I like to think of it like this. Have you ever seen your brain.......How do you know it exists? Someone has taught you that you have one and you believe it even though you haven't seen it. And even though I haven't seen God I believe in him through faith. And the experience I've had with him assures me that He lives inside me. You are an extremely intelegent person SA. I would just encourage to gather the facts of the Bible from someone smarter than me! Its been fun chatting with you SA, but I'm going to be leaving this sight permanently and getting back to work. Take care, your friend, S.W. -

Jesus related to the woman at the well by discussing something that she knew about: The well and the water: RELATE. Thereby creating an opportunity to witness to her. Jesus didn't need to spend thousand of hours talking about things that really don't matter: the water or the well, did he? No, because He knew what was truly important, salvation. God bless, your friend, S.W. -
The "Big Bang" Disproves The Bible

N.F. I agree Proverbs states that the fear of the lord is the beginning of all wisdom. So which of the two would be wise according to the Bible? Kirk Cameron! -
Warren states in his book "The Purpose Driven Church" on page 146 that their seeker groups are formed exclusively for evangelism, they provide a nonthreatening environment (in other words don't mention hell & don't convict them of their sins because they might actually get saved but we don't care about that we just wan't them to come. multiply our Church in a "friendly fun-loving atmosphere) and on page 48, Warren states, "you grow large if that is all you care about" that is not true churches are growing rapidly because they compromise the Bible to fit the needs of the congregation (customers). Warren also states that He refuses to debate or discuss what method works best yet on page 255 he all but makes fun of small town preachers. Saying, "Most church services move at a snail's pace." "Unbelievers have all but fallen asleep"

G-girl Look at the facts in the Bible, there are many people going to hell because they have made up a god in their own mind. For example someone who says to themselves "My God would never throw anyone in to hell." or "My god would never allow people to suffer and die." Guess what they are right. Their God wouldn't because he has been made up in their own minds to suit their desires, they have conformed Jesus to themselves instead of conforming themselves to the Jesus of the Bible! But only by reviewing the hard, cold facts of the Bible will we see the truth. Botz posted a really good response to one of your posts. I would review it again.

Man's Dominion The Bible tells us that animals are created "without understanding" (Psalm 32:9), and that human beings are different from animals. We are made in God's "image." As human beings, we are aware of our "being." God is "I AM," and we know that "we are." We have an understanding that we exist. Among other unique characteristics, we have an innate ability to appreciate God's creation. What animal gazes with awe at a sunset, or at the magnificence of the Grand Canyon? What animal obtains joy from the sounds of music or takes the time to form itself into an orchestra to create music? What animal among the beasts sets up court systems and apportions justice to its fellow creatures? We are moral beings. While birds and others creatures have instincts to create (nests, etc.), we have the ability to uncover the laws of electricity. We can utilize the law of aerodynamics to transport ourselves around the globe. We also have the ability to appreciate the value of creation. We unearth the hidden treasures of gold, silver, diamonds, and oil and make use of them for our own benefit. Only humans have the unique ability to appreciate God for this incredible creation and respond to his love. No, man is not just an animal on the evolutionary food chain. God has given him dominion (authority) over animals (Gen. 1:28). Man is intellectually superior to them and has priority over them--every animal is "under his feet" and may be brought into submission by him (James 3:7). Birds (Parrots) can be taught to speak. With a crack of a whip lions do what he says. even Killer whales obey his voice. Man's dominion is obvious. Cows yield milk for his cereal, cheese for his hamburger, butter for his bread, yogurt to keep him healthy, and ice cream to delight his taste buds on a hot day. The same Cow gives him meat to keep him strong and leather to keep him warm. Sheep and Goats also yield many of these same products. The Chicken makes eggs for his breakfast and provides finger-licking meat for his dinner. The sea overflows with an incredible variety of fish for him to catch and eat. Dogs protect his property and herd his sheep. Elephants lift great weights for him. Camels carry him across deserts. The horse is perfectly designed to be ridden by him. Man's dominion is obvious. Thank you, GOD!

that's interesting thanks for clearing that up. Did you know that the Bible states in Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." that means that we don't have to have evidence to believe, if we have evidence it wouldn't be faith. How else could God decide on who would follow him by being who he is (revealed to us through the scriptures). And it is by grace through faith that we are saved. A girl named Lea from Chi Alpha recently stated "I thought Christianity was about rejecting reality in order to psychologically prepare oneself for death. But now I know I was wrong." "But the natural Man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerened" - I Corinthians 2:14 -

That's very interesting. Did you know that Jesus Christ died on a cross for your sins. Isn't that wonderful. That even though we don't deserve it, (that is grace which means "unmerited favor") we still can inherit eternal life if we just call upon the name of the Lord and believe. Make Psalm 51 your prayer Get out your bible and read it and obey what you read. And get into a good Bible based Church. "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice." - Pro. 12:15 -
"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". - Romans 6:23 My advice would be for any atheists to turn from sin and repent unto God for the day of Judgment is quickly approaching. "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice". -Pro. 12:15

Good post N.F. I believe there is a creation museum in Texas, that has scientific evedince that supports creation. Sounds interesting!

I agree, I've asked for an interpretation of II Timothy 4:3 several times. And curiously the ones who agree with the seeker sensitive message haven't answered me one time. Hmmmmmm. Makes me wonder.

G-girl, I'm no theologian. But I have been studying the Bible long enough to know that that is exactly what He means. I know that it seems "mean" in some way, but this is why we should be getting the gospel out to the world. If anything this fact should show you the vital importance of the need for more missionaries and evangelists that are full of zeal to get out and see others get saved. Too often we are complacent with our own salvation and we tend to have a "Who cares if the rest of the world is going to hell." type of attitude. A person goes to hell because they have transgressed the law (sinned against God). Not because they are not "good" people (in man's eyes). "The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23 "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice". -Pro 12:15 This verse sums up a philosophy of a world that professes to be wise yet ignores the counsel of God's word.
