In total the FBI received 203,086 gun background check requests, required for purchases at federally licensed firearm dealers, on the major U.S. shopping day, USA Today reported. The requests broke previous single-day records of 185,713 and 185,345 on Black Friday in 2016 and 2015 respectively, according to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System database.
