However, if someone says they're abstinent, it means they are abstaining at the time, when I've heard celibate, it carries a permanent conotation, its an oath. Â God never lets us be tempted more than we are able to withstand though. Personally, I think the teaching about celibacy in the Catholic church is what got them so many perverted priests. They often feed on certain internet sites which show child porn - and some are married and or single men; church-goers of all denominations...hey, look - this kind of sickness knows no boundaries...age, race, or religion. We need to not put it all on one group of people and stereotype .... I can't even imagine what the poor priests who are totally committed to feeding the poor and tending their own church flocks must be going through. Everywhere they go someone's looking at them with suspicion. The innocence we once knew in America is gone. Ozzy and Harriet is replaced by Ozzy and Sharon.
