Four Dual Witnesses, Part 2:

The Resurrections of the Righteous and the Evil Dead

1) Matthew 24:15 “Therefore when you see the Abomination of Desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, having stood in the holy place…”

1) Daniel 11:45 And he [the King of the North] shall plant the tents of his pavilion between the seas at the glorious holy mountain…”

2) Matthew 24:21 “…then there will be the Great Tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

2) Daniel 12:1 “And then there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that time.”

3) Matthew 24:16 “…then let those who are in Judea escape [or, flee] to the mountains.

3) Daniel 12:1 “And at that time your people shall escape [or, be delivered]

4) Matthew 24:24(, 11) “[During the Great Tribulation]…there shall be awakened false christs and false prophets, and they shall show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

4) Daniel 12:2 “And many [or, a multitude] of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and to everlasting contempt.” Cf. John 5:28-29

Shall be awakened”: the Greek verb egerthēsontai is used here. This exact word is used in the Bible in only one other place, 1 Corinthians 15:52 – “…the dead egerthēsontai/shall be awakened…” The root of this verb, egeirō, means “to arouse/wake from sleep or death.” An example of its use: when Jesus died on the cross, “the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints which slept egerthēsan/were awakened [from death], and [came] out of the graves after His resurrection…” Matt. 27:52-53

Daniel 12:2 puts a new light on these parallel verses in Matthew 24 that hasn’t generally been recognized. The standard understanding of Matthew 24:24, 11 is that these false christs will arise from among the living people of that time. However, in the light of Daniel 12:2 and John 5:28-29, which tell us that evil people (as well as righteous) will come forth/be resurrected from the dead – a more likely interpretation is that false christs and prophets “shall be awakened” from the dead. This will occur during the Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:21), but before the Rapture. Matt. 24:30-31 So the indication is that the resurrection of at least some of the dead will take place some days before the ascension to heaven of the righteous, the “elect,” in the Rapture. Because otherwise, the false christs and false prophets would not have the opportunity to “show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” Matt. 24:24

These scriptures have major implications for the time of the Great Tribulation, during which the Son of Perdition will do “the works of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,” and during which “God shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie.” 2 Thes. 2: 9, 11 For example, the Son of Perdition might claim that he himself brought about the resurrection of the dead; some of whom will then “show great signs and wonders,” to delude the world’s people into believing that the Son of Perdition is the Second Coming of Christ.

One view is that those who were evil and died in the years before the First Coming of Christ will be awakened from the dead prior to all who have died after His First Coming. Even as the righteous dead who died before the First Coming will have arisen prior to their brethren who have died afterward.

Another view: according to Jewish religious tradition, the dead will be raised on Tishri 1, Rosh Hashanah. However, their judgment is not to be concluded until Tishri 10, the Day of Atonement. If so, the resurrected unrighteous dead would have 10 days to deceive people. Considering how an unexpected resurrection of the dead would become an instant worldwide news event, 10 days would be plenty of time for the Satanically-dominated globalist media to spin the narrative any number of ways.

While this scenario cannot be insisted upon, it should be considered something for the wise to be prepared for.
