Isaiah 17:1 The oracle/doom of Damascus. Behold Damascus, being deposed from being a city; and it shall become a ruinous heap. 2 The cities of Aroer being forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. 3 Then fortification (or, defense) shall cease from Ephraim, and dominion from Damascus. And the remnant of Syria shall be like the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts. 4 And in that day it shall come to pass that the glory of Jacob shall be brought low, and the fatness of his flesh shall be made lean. … 6 Yet gleanings shall be left in him… 11 [It shall be] a day of affliction and of enfeebling suffering.

Damascus has been continuously inhabited for 4000 years. WHERE WILL BE THIS UNDEFENDED EPHRAIM, IN WHOSE LANDS(S) WILL BE THESE OVERLY-FED ISRAELITES, WHEN DAMASCUS IS DESTROYED?
