Daniels prayer...for all of Gods people, not just for some and/or a part of them

Whom does the prophecy in Dan 9 concern?  All or just some...

Dan 9
4  And I prayed to YHVH my God and made confession and said, O Lord God great and awesome who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him and with those who keep His commandments

Note:  Commandments given to ALL ISRAEL - Gods People - Not just the Southern tribes, Not just the House of Judah

5  we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled and even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments

Note:  All Israel had departed from His precepts and judgments - Not just the House of Judah, Not just the southern tribes as the Northern tribes had done so first

6  and neither have we heeded unto Your servants, the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes and to our fathers and all the people of the land

Note: The Prophets were sent to/for all those of Israel

7  To You Lord righteousness [belongs] but to us shame of face as [it is] day this to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and ALL Israel, those near and those far off in ALL the countries to which You have driven them there them because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You

Note:  The prayer continues, verse after verse to include ALL ISRAEL, not just a part of it, not only those still in captivity (House of Judah) but all, House of Israel and House of Judah as clearly identified in that verse also

8  YHVH to us [belongs] shame of face to our kings our princes and our fathers because we have sinned against you

Note: Again, ALL of Israel had sinned against Him, not just those from Daniels tribe, not just those still in the area

9  To the Lord our God [belong] mercy and forgiveness though we have rebelled against Him

Note: ALL Gods people had rebelled.  Not once has there been any 'separation/division' of Gods People in this prayer.

10  And not we have obeyed the voice of YHVH our God to walk in His laws which He set before us by His servants the prophets

Note:  Yet again, His laws were set before ALL Israel even before the dividing of them into the 2 nations.  Notice how His 'chosen servants' set before the rest of the tribes the words of God.  MANY are called, FEW are chosen.

11  And Yes all Israel has transgressed Your law and has departed so as not to obey Your voice therefore have been poured out on us the oath and the curse written in the Law of Moses the servant of God because we have sinned against Him

Note: ALL Israel transgressed, The Law having been given to ALL Israel.  So far, we are 8 for 8 regarding WHOM the prayer of Daniel is concerning

12  And He has confirmed His words which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us by bringing upon us disaster a great for never has been done under whole the heaven such as what has been done to Jerusalem

Note: Jerusalem was the place to which ALL of Israel went before the dividing of the Houses to the Northern and Southern.  EVEN before the destruction that took place after the death of Jesus, Jerusalem had had a kind of disaster 'never done' anywhere else.

13  As [it is] written in the Law of Moses all disaster this has come upon us and yet not we have made our prayer with before YHVH our God that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth

Note:  Again, Law of Moses went out to all Israel

14  Therefore has kept in mind YHVH on the disaster and brought it upon us
for [is] righteous YHVH our God in all the works which He does and though not we have obeyed His voice.

Note:  Disaster had come upon all the tribes and at every mention,
all of Israel is addressed...and to be sure this is true, we are given...

15  Now Lord our God who brought
Your people out of the land of Egypt with a hand mighty and made Yourself a name as [it is] day this, we have sinned, we have done wickedly

Note: We all know who came out of Egypt

16  Lord according to all Your righteousness, let be turned away I pray Your anger and Your fury from Your city Jerusalem, mountain Your holy because for our sins, for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people [are] a reproach to all [those] around us

Note how the 'theme' remains the same and continues throughout.   There is not one verse even suggesting/hinting that Daniel is ONLY praying about some of Gods people and not ALL of them.  The 'place' where Daniel is making the prayer FROM, does not in any way change WHO the prayer is concerning.

17  Therefore now hear our God
to the prayer of Your servant and his supplications and cause to shine Your face on Your sanctuary which is desolate for the sake of Lord

18  Incline my God Your ear and hear  open Your eyes and
see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name upon because of not for our righteous [deeds] we do present our supplications before You but because of Your mercies great

19  Lord hear Lord forgive Lord listen and act, not do delay for Your own sake my God
by Your name Are called for Your city and Your people

Again, NO distinction being made in anyway shape or form as to the vision concerning only a section or part of Gods people.  That is "what is written" when we get rid of all the "wisdom of man" that men seem to think it is ok put on it.   Without any doctrines/traditions here to muddy up the waters, we see what THE WORDS OF GOD themselves actually speak to.  The SPIRIT of the prayer is easy to follow especially when not burdened with words 'added' by men.

21 and yes while I [was] speaking in prayer and the man
Gabriel whom I had seen
in the vision at the beginning,
being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the offering evening

Note: when was he seen?  in the vision at the beginning.   What one was that?  The chapter previous, before Babylon was taken over by the Medes...

In 8:1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

aka the end of the Babylonian rule.  We were introduced to Gabriel here in 8 when he Interprets Daniel's Vision

8:15And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man. 16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. 17So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

18Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright. 19And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

Hopefully NONE of us believe 'the end' took place 2000 years ago since here we still are and if someone could believe that, then there is most likely nothing anyone could point to that would change their mind...that is in GODS hand

23And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

No one, not even at any time in profane history, FITS the description given
as one
1.  who stands up when the transgressors are come to the full
2.  destroys wonderfully, BY PEACE destroys many
3.  who stood up against the PRINCE of princes

Back to Chapter 9

23 At the beginning of your supplications went out the command and I have come to tell [you] for greatly beloved you [are] therefore understand the matter and consider the vision

Just to be clear
