  1. I'm trying to encourage as many people as possible to join me in fasting and prayer to prevent socialism. Not a starvation fast, but just something to sacrifice for 6 months to a year, like coffee, a certain TV show, carbonated drinks, or something like that. Every time we have the desire to do what we are fasting, it should be a reminder to say a prayer to God about protecting our country from socialism. Prayer and fasting is the most powerful thing we can do, and God doesn't need a majority. Gideon, David, Joshua, etc. defeated huge armies with only small ones. We can do the same! Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mighty mountains! I've heard about what's going on in Africa right now and God is doing incredible things. Just a couple of examples - A Muslim's deformed leg was visibly restored and reattached in front of a Christian church, and a corpse was raised from the dead in a Muslim funeral - both events led to mass conversions of Muslims to Jesus Christ. Prayer is powerful, and God is powerful. If He can raise the dead, and do all the other countless miracles He is doing all over Africa, He can handle this! Please, join us in fasting. And please forward this via email to all your friends and spread the word any way you can. Thank you so much!
  2. The KJV is probably the least accurate. The NRSV and NASB are actually the most accurate as they are literal translations. These are typically used as reference bibles, when you are confused about a scripture's meaning. They can be tough to read as they sentence structure is awkward. The NIV is a literal translation but with the sentence structures modified more for English to make it easier to read. So, it's really the best of both worlds IMO. The Living Bible and The Message and books like that are NOT translations, they are not intended for bible study. It's more of a devotional type of a book. They are very loose "translations" and based on one person's idea of what the original author is meaning. At least that's all what I learned in College.
