Worthy News: Despite Bush Veto Threat, Congress to Take Up Stem Cell B
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in U.S. News
God gave us guns and nuclear weapons also. Does that mean we would be offending God somehow by not using them? Some of you should rethink this. God gave the scientists the intelegence to created biological weapons but that doesn't mean they the weapons themselves are go, so neither should we consider invetro fertilization different. It's not what we create or discover that is the test, its how we react to or use this knowlege that is the test. -
Worthy News: Mass. Court Backs Gay Marriage on Ballot - ABC News
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in U.S. News
If that were the case, then the government should mind their own business with regards to how people raise their children, since it too is an issue of privacy. It wasn't that long ago that the government redefined "child abuse" so strictly and narrowmindedly that parents no longer feel safe disciplining their own children. Why should the government be permitted to interfere with one set of private affairs and not feel it within their sphere of influence to set boundaries in other spheres? -
Worthy News: Mass. Court Backs Gay Marriage on Ballot - ABC News
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in U.S. News
I believe every state, that has not put such a measure on the ballot, should since the federal government is unwilling to do anything about it. What I am curious about is how anyone can view such bans as unconstitutional. I wish to know what part of the constitution guarantees the right to marry anyone or anything a person wishes to. Do they claim that it infringes upon their right to happiness? -
While their actions again are viewed as extreme, they have very legitimate reasons for taking such drastic measures. They will destroy anthing necessary to prevent the terrorists from moving the hostages out of Israels reach. I am however concerned about an attacks against Lebanons military, what little they have, because it will create another security vacuum which Syria may again feel compelled to fill, again.

Guilty by association. Syria has made no efforts to reign in Hezballa. To the contrary, all the indications are that they are supported by Syria, with the majority of funding comming from Iran. While the world community cannot see it, or choses not to, Israel is well within their rights to protect themseves from terrorism. If the governments of Syria and Lebanon willingly tolerate groups like Hamas and Hezballa then the damage they receive is a direct result of that tolerance. Also, if neither country is able or willing to reighn in these terrorist groups, someone must, and it may as well be the country the groups have chosen to coerce.

To my Arab brothers: The War with Israel Is Over
O'Dannyboy replied to a topic in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
Thinking back on my last statement I am reminded that the Bible tells us that Isreal will be attacked from all sides but that God will Fight for Israel and send a very unmistakable message to the world that the Jews are his people. It is inevitable that the Arabs and Muslims will NOT take a hint. However there is no doubt that the groundwork for the 3 1/2 years is being placed, in spite of the current conflicts. -
I don't know about the rest of you, but I consider the clergy about as Christ-like as these cults you refer to. You know, the ones that dance with snakes. I admit, as long as the world sees the clergy as Christs' representatives, they will have a most notable effect when casting these "verbal stones".

Worthy News: Castration a solution for sex offenders? - MSNBC
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in U.S. News
If the government has a problem with capitol punishment in the case of murder I don't see where there is any chance of it in the case of pedophiles. While castration may not be 100% effective in preventing future attacks by these criminals I think it would be very effective as a deterant, especially in conjunction with a health prison term. -
Care to show us where a muslim has been stoned by Christians for "evangelising"? Lets put the past behind us for a moment and look at the now. Ireland not withstanding, where have you known Christians to be violent and intolerant of other religions? Uhm... The crusades... In the name of God... History is replete with violence on behalf of Christianity in the name of God. Unfortunately, while these sorts of gorilla tactics are non-Biblical, non-Christian, they still came in the name of God and gave Christianity a bad rap. Read my post again. What Christians are NOW behaving in a similar fassion? Where, NOW, do you see Chrisitians stoning people of other faiths? Where NOW do you see Christians persecuting people of other faiths? As for the crusades, as I understand it, the muslims prompted such a harsh reaction by the RCC when they sought to take over Christian lands and marched north. The crusades began as a means to regain the land that was taken from "Christiandom" by the muslims. While they, the crusades, might be considered an "over-reaction", they were not the convert or kill tactics they have been made to seem.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- The Bush White House and its lackeys in the Senate have reached a new low in their quest to bestow amnesty on 11 million to 20 million illegal immigrants, while doing as little as possible to secure our nation's borders and ports. Here is the article. I, for one, am gratefull that there are some who wish to keep this topic in the spotlight. While the politicians continue to debate this issue, there is a virtual media blackout preventing most of us from following the progress. As long as we have people like Lou Dobbs sending us reminders, there is, as he said, hope for our country.

Worthy News: Castration a solution for sex offenders? - MSNBC
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in U.S. News
Power is not an issue with sexual offenders, like pedophiles. It may be a motivating factor with rapists, which are also considered sexual offenders, but it should not be considered the primary motivation. I honestly believe that chemical castration should definately be considered as a deterant to sexual predation, especialy pedophiles. -

Wise words. I think Mr' Ibrahim realises the futility of the palestinian "struggle". If only the terrorists would relise this. -
Worthy News: Scientists grow sperm from stem cells - London Telegraph
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
After reading this I didn't have to go any further. What do you think the implications would be if they could "make" sperm cells from a female embryos' stem cells? This becomming a practice would be yet one more nail in the coffin for traditional marriage and would only embolden the gay community that somehow homosexuality was the way it was meant to be in the grand scheme of things. I have no doubts that the gay community would actively seek and fund any studies that would allow same sex couples to reproduce offspring in what they would consider a natural way, given that the child would have the genetic material of both persons. This is not a good sign. -
Who is Humiliating Whom?? (A Must Read!!)
O'Dannyboy replied to a topic in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
This is very troubling. Most of us are aware of the descrimination and anti-semitism against the jewish people, we just do not know the scope of it. All I ever hear is how "oppressed" the palestinian people and yet the world is completely oblivious how the Israelis are prisoners in their own land. How would any of us feel if we were forced to wall ourselves in for safety sake? I hurt when I think of how Gods' chosen are reduced to a perpetual mode of defense and yet are perceived as the intruders thanks to propaganda and the gulability of the world powers. -
Worthy News: Obama Tells Dems to Get Religion - ABC News
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in U.S. News
At this point I believe both of us are disagreeing for the sake of it. I tend to speak to quickly and give more importance to my views than to those of others. I guess we should all understand that our opinions have little to no importance unless we are first asked for them. I tend to volunteer my opinion more often than I should. While I believe the ten commandments to be very important in the history of all men, I do not feel personally responsible for all of humanities salvation. When it is my time to fulfill Gods purpose for me, I have no doubt he will let me know when, what to do and say, it is not yet that time. -
Worthy News: Castration a solution for sex offenders? - MSNBC
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in U.S. News
Perhaps, instead of forced castration, they should increase the prison sentences and offer castration as an alternative to those prison sentences. As I understand it, they can chemically castrate men now, without having to actually perform sugery to remove the organ. They can cause impotancy with chemicals preventing men from achieving errection. If I am not mistaken, this would not affect sperm production, and even if it did they could extract the sperm and freeze it prior to initiating the process of chemical castration. I have little doubt that this would all but illiminate that persons desire, let alone ability, to force themselve on unconsenting persons. -
I am beginning to believe that it won't be long before pro-family groups are forced to hold parades of their own. If people find it so easy to justify the "right" of Gays to parade around showing pride in their socially unacceptabe lifestyle, then the rest of us have just as much "right" to display our unity and belief in the "traditional" family unit.

We should not rule out the possibilty that they purposefully downed the rocket before it crossed Japaneese air space. The timing of these so called "tests" indicates North Koreas wishes to taunt the govenment of the United States for reasons one can only guess. -

Gasp! Just immagine how they would feel if they had their own 9/11. Perhaps the American aproach to battling terrorism isn't as excessive as some may have previously thought.
