  1. We should secure the southern border and close the holes so we can stop exploiting the Mexicans.
  2. I think some people are loosing sight of why the parties are even refered to as "conservative" and "liberal". Todays definitions are so vague its not even funny. If we focus on the root word then a conservative would be cautious and miserly where finances are concerned , and a liberal would spend freely, even excessively, and would be willing to take more risks. That is obviously the simplified view and does not fully represent what these parties or groups stand for now. The kind of people that these groups are comprised of seems to remain the same, however it seems the lines are more blurred. There are elitists on both sides that are in leadership positions in our government, all rich and influential before they were elected. To the dismay of many of us, those who run for political office require large sums of money to campaign and, in essence, buy their votes through advertising. I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't believe there are more than a handful of "elected" representatives that actually care about the concerns of those they represent. Our country is run by a bunch of lawyers and bureaucrats and the only reason they get elected in the first place is because they know how to work the system, not because they best represent what the majority believes.
  3. God be with them. They will have to be ready to debate, considering most will be very defensive. I am not very well versed at this point and would require a Bible with many tabs to certain scriptures in order to pose a worthy argument. I pray God will use them and speak through them to those who are lost.
  4. Its not worth the read. Let the politicians hash it out. We all know what they want, no matter how they say it it till means the same thing. I heard statements from Hamas about how they blame America and Israel for breaking the agreements made between Israel and the PA. Its rediculous.
  5. The "word" is a living thing. Just as we are each precious and special in Gods' eye so also is Gods' word to each of us.
  6. I too struggle with this. I have given up smoking, drinking, caffine and even stopped biting my nails but I have not managed to overcome this. I understand that is in my nature to sin so I know I can never be without sin until God makes it so. The only thing I can think to do is to ask for his forgiveness and pray that he will soon lead me to my future wife. I am hopeful that the woman I marry will fully satisfy my desires that I may not look at other women that way. But, I am fearful that I will not find a woman to marry until I can overcome my own lust. I cannot say. All I can do is pray, repent and try to sin as little as possible.
  7. Thats some refreshing news considering all the persecution happening around the world.
  8. More evidence behind why they want these churches registered. They will continue to harass these churches and their members until Christ returns.
  9. You should look into their campaign contributions. No doubt they contribute mostly to the Democratic ticket too.
  10. Satans puppets. I wish they would go back into their closets. I don't apreciate their "advocating" such a lifestyle. If they want to be included, they should stop insisting they be included. Its like a woman wanting into an all mens club. Somewhere there will always be someone that thinks the woman has a right to join whatever club she wishes. I think the gay activists are no better than the people they reject as forcing religion down their throats. Its not enough to simply be gay and free, they want everyone to be gay it seems. Why else would they push so hard for the rest of the world to accept them.
  11. Unless a pullout provides for a more secure Israel I would not give up another scrap of land to the Palestinians.
  12. We will see if it helps. I think the Sudan/Chad area needs some attention, and fast.
  13. They shouldn't have sold our ports to begin with. Foreign investment is fine, even welcome, but selling strategic infrastucture was just plain stupid. I just cant figure out why our government thought they needed to auction off our ports. Thats like leaving border security up to the Mexican government. You see how far that has gotten us. Then again, the greed, ingnorance and arrogance of our government officials is not really a secret now is it.
  14. Yeah, like they think they need to explain themselves. What purpose do you think a communist government has for a 4 million man army? They will probably use the same excuse as Iran and North Korea. We only want these weapons to counter the increasing threat of the United States.
  15. Abaas has already started to renig on previous agreements, why should Isreal trust him to keep this one? In light of his promises to Israel he still threatened to free him. And then he wants to blame the monitors for leaving? I think the monitors leaving indicates that they knew what was going to happen. Abaas is completely to blame for threatening to break his promise when he has borken so many others already. His rhetoric alone shows how desperate he is to stay in a possition of power even if it means undoing any progress that was made in the last decade.
  16. Yes, our government should have never (sold?) one single port to foreign investors. Leasing would have been a wiser choice. How can our government recover from this? If the deal with Dubai was to lease our ports then I would not be so quick to dismiss the deal, especially since the investigation is not even complete. I think it was and is very short sighted, on the part of Bush and "his government", to make such a deal under the table and then expect everyone to be okay with it. I think its failure can be attributed more to Bush and his administration than to racism or protectionism. I think more people object to the deal simply to spite Bush, than have any real concerns about security. I agree. I wish that he or somebody would have let the rest of us in on why the deal was so important, Arab relations not withstanding. I would also have to say that the liberal media and their elluding to race as the primary factor is the major cause for divestment. I don't think the deal failed because DPW is an Arab owned company, but thats what the media is saying, so thats what the Arabs are hearing.
  17. I totally agree. From what I heard on the news, the money is to go into a program where property owners that cap off their rent will qualify for compensation. The population in most of the cities here has increased quite a bit. The demand for housing could cause rental prices to increase. Its opportunistic for the property owners to do so, but they have and I would expect it to continue. This money could prevent some serious price gouging by property owners and management agencies.
  18. If they cant get Iran to give up research and developement, I dont see how they think they will ever be able to separate Israel from its nukes short of having them launched at them.
  19. Their being upset about it only shows that they actually believed Abaas intended to honor their agreements. How naive can you be?
  20. Wasn't he already in prison? Why try him again? Just put him back in prison. I don't think there is any need to exacerbate the situation. Since it is very unlikely that the Palestinians would have imprisoned him, its safe to assume that Israel put him in prison to begin with, so trying him again will only serve to antagonize the Palestinians. What makes no sense is that these prisoners were in Palestinian controlled territory (technically).
  21. Perhaps bush and "his government" should have been a little more transparent then. I am not against the UAE deal especially if its only a lease as they say. I also agree that the democrats and liberal media have twisted the conservative fear of muslims into racism against Arabs, which is totally blowing it out of proportion. I do believe the democrats are riding the wave and will use this to their advantage. The one thing that stuck in my craw was Bush threatening to veto any attempts to stop the deal, while he was right to do so, he should have explained himself. Yes, he should have to explain himself to the people, if the people don't agree with him. I hope they can salvage the deal, or at least our aliance with the UAE. I personally have no problem with Arabs as a race but I don't care to give the muslim world more oportunities to harm our nation. When muslims stop chanting "death to america" then perhaps we can relax. Until then I prefer to err on the side of caution. I am not endorsing a protectionist govenment or economy but I don't think we should let our guard down just because there is money involved.
  22. HERE HERE!
  23. Meanwhile they turn a blind eye to the situation in Darfur and now Chad. Where are the U.N. peacekeepers? Where is the line of nations wishing to help out? They must be waiting for the Good Ole U.S. of A. to take matters into their own hands since the world bodies cannot seem to agree on how to handle rogues and villians. If the U.N. cannot hash out an effective way to deal with Iran then it will, I think, be the final evidence that the U.N. does not function in the capacity for which it was created. Perhaps the U.S. government will find better use for the billions of dollars currently being funnelled into the U.N.. I cannot see how the U.S. would wish to continue to fund and humor a failed and corrupt world council not willing to enforce "international law".
