You are close, all that I know of God I have tested against the Written Word He has given us.

I have had many personal experiences with God and many that my own human weakness told me was God, but the Bible didn't agree.

I do trust God's written Word more than my own human ego

 

Trusting God himself, alive and real is totally different than trusting God's written Word or the bible for the latter is not the Lord God.

What do you think of any specific God's work that the devil cannot do in any way he can?

Thats a pretty condemning statement. At no point did jdavis say his faith is confined to a book. He merely stated that he didnt write anything down. Nowhere is it written that one must write down a special thing God states in order to be saved. One is saved by faith, not by writing down a special revelation. 

 

My statement is based on our long exchanges of posts and it is obvious that the guy knows God through the bible thus my "your faith is confined to a book" for the bible is a book.

How can you know you were in the right place and not tricked by Satan.

Since you dismiss the scriptures you have nothing to test it against except your own personal opinions.

 

It was over a month that the Lord Jesus taught us about Satan and his devil and on how we can determine how they operate in this world. The Lord even gave us authority for one week to cast out demons in His names and, indeed it happened,  but after that, we are told to do what is the normal way of dealing with the devil - to call on to the Lord and ask Him to drive the devil out. Kindly come to think a million times of what nature and make are you going to test the Lord God and His utterances to those whom God is inter-acting today? Is there anything better and higher than God himself?

Ghosts floating around do not exist, and aliens certainly do not exist. Using our imaginations for the wrong reasons can be, not good.

And your basis for saying the above is what?

 

How do you know it's Jesus? What if whoever is talking to you (Jesus or perhaps someone else?) tells you something that is contrary to Scripture? How do you know if it is the enemies of God disguised as angels of light or the voice of Jesus?

Jesus has many ways of proving Himself that He is the Almighty and it is beyond the capacity of men to comprehend it unless they were there when the Lord proved Himself of His Lordship over all. What do you think of any specific God's work that the devil cannot do in any way he can?

A. This is false and goes directly against Scripture. See post #4.

 

B. This is false and goes directly against Scripture. The result of of eating the fruit was allowing sin to enter their lives - seperating them from God. It was only by God's mercy that they weren't killed the day they ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.  

 

Gen. 2:15-17

¹⁵ Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. ¹⁶ And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; ¹⁷ but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

What do you take Scripture to mean when it says what God has joined together? And Jesus in particular re-emphasized this idea of one flesh and joining together.

So it sounds like you believe that personal revelation is superior to Biblical revelation in this instance?

A.  The bible is not the Lord God and eternal life does not reside in the bible and contradiction is only in the people's mind since God knows what was truly said by Him.

B.  You did not carefully weigh what you said in this part because if the result of eating the fruit was allowing sins to enter their lives, then they were really clothed in sins after eating the fruit.

C.  Joined together is the tie not in marriage or marriage per se and one flesh is the offspring which will come out later, come to think of this carefully. Tell me, did you and your spouse became literally one flesh after you were put in marriage? But how about your offspring, didn't they become one flesh as a result of the union of your flesh (sperm cell) and that of your spouse (egg cell)?

I believe that the Lord God himself, not the personal revelation we received from Him,  is superior over the bible of today.

 

Then Paul, Peter, James, and more are all heretics for daring to leading groups of Christians.

Paul was the worst, he even gave rules for pastors. Why did God allow these people into the Bible?

 

Have you personally seen Paul, Peter, and James daring to lead groups of Christians in the way you think they lead them, were you a witness to these people then? God has his own right to do what he pleases, better ask God himself so that you may be able to get the right answer to your question, should you be willing.

 

If we don't need pastors then why would Paul have written Eph. 4:8-16?  That passage makes no sense if John means that we don't need teachers.  Clearly we need them or God would not have sent them to us.

 

 I John 2:27 parallels verse 24 and is part of a the same line of thought.   John in this passage is saying that they have no need of a teacher regarding the truth that already abides in them.  He is not saying that they no longer have need of a pastor or teacher at all.

 

Come to think of this in the first place, have you witnessed/seen Paul writing those passages the way how they are recorded in the bible today? How do you understand the whole chapter of John 10? Why don't you take the reverse that God let it happened that way for Him to see where and to whom the people will come for the resolution of the issue, would the people come to God or would the people put their trust in what is only written or would they come to their fellow men to know the truth, what do you think?

2.  No, I do not say I am correct because we are both human beings prone to errors and mistakes and only the Lord God, alive and real, is the Truth. The things that we got from Him are nothing and are not meant to be any source of teachings about salvation and of God, they are only testimonies to God who gives such things to people of all ages.

My poor eyes, sorry about that, but it is a little bit above, anyway, look at this (post no. 24 or up);

 

As in the days of the apostles, so are the days today with Jesus the Lord God, nothing is new under the sun and only His means in talking/communicating to the people differ but He Himself, unseen, is still the one involved in guiding and teaching His sons/families/friends/followers/disciples today in our time. Did you come to know Jesus that way?

 

One truth that the bible doesn't have and that was hidden to mankind for quite a long, long time is the fact that Jesus taught his disciples that no one within the church of the Lord is allowed to act as men pastor simply because the Lord is the only Good Shepherd/Pastor/Teacher in His Church. Also, the Lord God did not actually say to Adam and Eve that they will surely die by the time they eat the fruit that He forbids them to eat. The Lord told us that what He said to the two is that they will be clothed with sins by the time they eat that fruit. Another one is about marriage where the bible has the record that the two will become one flesh but in reality, the Lord told us that what He said to Adam and Eve is that He will give them one flesh and it is about the offspring that will be the result of that marriage, not that the husband and the wife will become one flesh. These are only some of the hidden truths that is beyond the limits and bounds of the bible today.

 

I do believe God inspired the original scriptures but God warns us that the bible is not the Lord God.

 

I cannot prove to you or anyone that God is alive and real, and neither can anyone else. Belief in God requires faith, proof removes the need for faith.

I know that God is alive and real due to His movement in my life.

Now, answer the question....on what basis do you claim to be correct about the Bible and all of us are wrong.

 

1.  Allow me further to pursue this question to you, have you talked to God and has God uttered to you something about Himself where you were allowed to write down as evidence that you have encountered God, alive and real?

Please explain. Do you mean Jesus came down 2000 years ago? Or do you mean that Jesus has personally appeared to you and proven Himself to you?

The Lord God who is alive and real, He is the one who is true. Both the bible and the things given to us by God are just testimonies to Him that He is real and alive and that we have to come to Him should we want to be saved and to know God.

Your basis of truth is the bible and my basis of truth is the Lord God himself, real and alive, it is but normal for both of us to be travelling on different track thus the misunderstanding/s. If in your own judgment the revelation that we got from God contradicts the things written in the bible, what danger may your judgment be posing against us, are you and the bible the Lord God?

Neither will I hold the bible nor will I hold the revelation we got from God to be true since God is the only TRUTH that I can hold on to unto eternity.

The Lord, though unseen, came down to us and spoke to us and introduced himself to us and proved himself to us that He is the Lord.

Ironical even your own view cannot be supported in any way. you cannot use the Bible to support it.

 

Once you are under the tutelage of the Lord, you will not be alienated from knowing the truth and the Lord Himself. The bible is not the basis of the truth but it is the Lord God who is the basis and sole authority in all truth.

 

Do you then view Paul's and Peter's writings to be in violation of rule and thus we should disregard all their writings?

 

To be safe, treat those writings as testimonies to the Lord Jesus and you will be in good hands, for sure. If you want sound teachings that will surely lead you to the way to your salvation and knowing God, then go and come to the Lord Jesus Christ in the way how He exists and lives in His own way of living.
