  1. I have studied the dispensational view for over 10 years and have learned a lot.
  2. With their belief in the priesthood of all believers and justification by faith in Christ alone and armed with the Bible written in their own language, Protestant settlers of what is now the United States came over from Europe to escape persecution and tyranny. In America, these Christian colonists would escape the long arm of the British monarchy in the American Revolution, being encouraged by the Bible and its ideas of justice and that in Christ all are equal under God. Their battle cry was "We have no king but Jesus"! The political leaders of this nation of Christians were largely Freemasons, an organization that might be best described as "pseudo-Christian" (at best!).
  3. Sorry, its' been so long for a reply, I wasn't paying attention.
  4. I'm afraid this is all going to lead to the Palestinians being disarmed and or marked, which at first glance is a good thing. We just hope this isn't a first step to the banning of all firearms worldwide and a global identification system where everyone's movements can be tracked.
  5. Dan Rather was born in Wharton, Texas where he was raised and became a TV news journalist with KHOU in Houston before moving on to CBS in the early 60s. Nothing in his biographies that I have read mentions his religious faith one way or the other. He has been emotional occasionally since the September 11 attacks. Here is a brief clip from the David Letterman show on September 18 (scroll down on the page). http://www.mediaresearch.org/news/cyberale...cyb20010918.asp Dan Rather seems to be the type that would want to keep personal things private to himself. We cannot judge him solely based on how we see him in public. He has definitely had a history on being outspoken with his unique Texas expressions and drawl, and perhaps these recent comments and emotions are showing us the true Dan Rather inside.

  7. Paul was afraid Gentiles might eventually feel this way, that they would become wise in their own conceits. So he revealed a mystery: "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." HOW LONG?

I feel that II Peter 3:8 and Psalm 90:4 will factor in to the coming of the Lord somehow: "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." II Peter 3:8 "For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night." Psalm 90:4 One plausible application might be the 1000 years referred to in Revelation 20.
  9. We must remember that the Church already consists of both natural and wild grafted-in branches of the olive tree. In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, all are one. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." Galations 3:28 We should pray that more branches be grafted in, both natural and wild. (Edited by mcfly1960 at 8:24 am on Mar. 14, 2002)
  10. We have a lot to learn from the story of Joseph and his 11 brothers as recorded at the end of Genesis. The 11 brothers in Canaan sold Joseph into slavery, who was carried away to Egypt. Later, Joseph by interpreting Pharaoh's dreams, saved Egypt from famine and was rewarded by Pharaoh, who made Joseph ruler over all Egypt. The story ends with Joseph coming to the rescue of his father Jacob and his 11 brothers, who all move to Egypt. Of course, the children of Israel in a later generation become slaves, are freed under Moses, and eventually cross the Jordan back into Canaan, the Promised Land, under the leadership of Joshua. Both Joseph and Joshua, I believe, are prophetic types of Christ. (Edited by mcfly1960 at 4:53 pm on Mar. 13, 2002)

    HOW LONG?

Xan is correct, I don't know if I said "Psalm" Sunday anywhere unless it was a typo. Palm Sunday is when Christians celebrate the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Gospel accounts of the Triumphal Entry are found in Matthew 21:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, and Mark 11:1-11, when Jesus fulfilled Zechariah 9:9:

    Rapture

We know there will be Martyred Tribulation Saints and a remnant of 144,000 Israelites with the mark of God in their foreheads, and the 2 Witnesses, who will be present during the Tribulation. During the antichrist's reign, I believe that Matthew 24:13 comes into play, where it says "he that shall endure until the end shall be saved", and that these Martyred Tribulation Saints get their "white robes" in heaven as we see in Revelation 6:11. This is in comparison to believers who are saved in the Church age, who get their "white robes" on earth. We know this from Revelation 7:14. (The "great tribulation" in Revelation 7:14, I believe, refers to the Church age. The Great Multitude here is seen in heaven, having "washed their robes". The Martyred Saints don't have robes to wash..they get them in heaven.) It should be noted that the antichrist's system has already been working against the saints in thisage from the very first century. The ultimate war with the saints will be when Christ returns with the saints to defeat the antichrist and his system. It should also be noted that when the wrath of God is poured out, particularly as seen in the vial judgements of Revelation 16, those that have the mark of the beast or who worshipped his image will "repent not", so I don't see this group as a target for evangelism.

    Rapture

I believe that you are referring to II Thessalonians 2:3-4 and 7-8. In verses 7-8, I think we can see the order of the events. We can see the Rapture, the Reign of the Antichrist, and the Second Coming as separate events [brackets added to illustrate]: "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out [Rapture] of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed [Reign of the Antichrist] , whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming. ["Second" coming , the wrath of Almighty God (Revelation 19:15), where the fowls are filled with the flesh of all men (Revelation 19:18,21), and their blood flows to the horse's bridle (Revelation 14:20) ] " II Thessalonians 2:7-8

    Rapture

Hi Teri, I was wondering who you thought the restrainer was, if not the Holy Spirit? Do we know for sure that many will be saved during the tribulation? Wouldn't this contradict God sending "strong delusion that they should believe a lie" (II Thessalonians 2:11 KJV)? And who will prophesy and do miracles? Is more prophecy needed after Revelation and the Bible? Aren't we told that it is the antichrist who will have the "working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders".
