  1. Revelation 12:7-12 It’s progressive: In verses 7-10 he speaks chronologically of things that happened in the past, than in verse 11 he speaks of the future. In Verses 7-11 are meant to illustrate his point in verse 12. Which is a point we are to apply to the present time. Verse 7-9 speaks of Satan being thrown out of heaven. (past) Verse 10 speaks of Christ coming and dieing on the cross and resurrecting (past) Verse 11 speaks of those who endure the tribulation. (future) Verse 12 refers to us, letting us know that that devil was cast down back in the day, and he is aware that he is defeated and so his attitude is “if I’m going down I’m going to take as many as I can with me”, but we who are saved and operate out of the spirit in faith, should rejoice, because the devil can’t defeat us. But for those who aren’t saved and those who are saved but don’t live right, woe unto them because he is here and his wrath is being poured out. (present) the idea is, he warred against heaven and lost, he warred against Christ come in the flesh and lost, he will war against those who miss the rapture and experience tribulation yet endure and Satan will lose that one as well, therefore if we serve the lord than he cant defeat us now!!! Praise God!!! Revelation 12:12 can be crossed referenced with 1 Peter 5:8–9 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. So 1 Peter 5:8 lets us know that Satan can only devour those who allow him to; “ whom he may devour” 1 Peter 5:9 tells us that he may not devour those who resist him. James 4:7 tells us that if we submit to God than we can resist the devil and he has to flee us just like he had to flee heaven. I wrote this in a hurry cause I’m on my way out the door, sorry that its not very organized.
  2. James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. According to the book of James, as long as their body is alive, than their spirit must be in it.
