"They said they will not recognize any legal paperwork from our church: that includes birth certificates, wedding certificates and death certificates. Children are not even considered to be legitimate if they don’t have recognized paperwork."</p><p>The PA's announcement comes after the "Christ at the Checkpoint" conference in which about 600 evangelical Protestants from around the globe gathered to discuss Christian Zionism, a theology some claim adds to the violence in the Middle East by giving credence to Israeli policies.</p><p>During the conference's opening ceremony, Minister Fayyad told the assembly that his government respected the rights of Christians; he said they all celebrate the same religious holidays and that PA officials even attend Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.</p><p>Further, Fayyad assured them that the PA respects all holy places and it will allow unfettered access to them in the areas under its control.</p><p>However, Khoury said First Baptist's message of reconciliation between Arabs and Jews conflicts with the hatefull messages sponsored by the PA: Muslim clerics routinely broadcast anti-Semitic rants on PA TV while "peace activists" turn sections of Bethlehem's security barriers into billboards for their fatalistic jihadist propaganda.</p>

I think I saw this pastor on Zola Levitt programming. Very sad but he is courageous.

  2. It is sad to read about Liam Neeson. I remember him most of all as Oskar Schindler in "Schindler's List". Seems so incongruous to me.

Anyway, I am not sure if he really is that dedicated to convert to Islam. I do have to admit some of the Islamic archtectiture can be very nice to look at from an artistic perspective. I get the sense that he is in another country where it is almost exotic to be in an Islamic area with that forced emphasis of the bells and the prayers daily. He has to realize they do not have the option NOT to participate. It is part of their culture and tradition in a religious sense. He has to realize those things should not be confused with the actual teachings and tenets of the Qu'ran. I do not see any real commitment driving him to convert to Islam.

I remember when Natasha Richardson died. He did seem to be very affected by her death and I think that may be a factor in why he seems to be a seeker. He mentions reading books on God and atheism. He is looking. I pray he looks in the right direction and finds the truth. Islam is not it.

  3. I see-

So, it is literally impossible for Gillard to be an atheist humanist? ;)

No, that is not what I said. Specifically I said the terms are not necessarily inclusive. As I said before, Julia may be an atheist, etc. but claiming that all humanists must be like that, or that all who hold her political/economic views hold a similar philosophy is a bad analogy akin to making a strawman argument.

Then, it would not be "incorrect" to call her as such.

  4. and if you get the chance ask Jesus if he's happy about you buying gifts for everyone but him, and don't forget to make a fuss over that tree. When you light your yule time log, as Him if he like the flames and how the smoke rises up the chemney.... but especially ask him if he minds celebrating his birthday on someone Else's special day.... Do some serious praying about it and see what answers you get.

I thought I'd ask Him what He things about our Christmas celebrations.

I can't say I was expecting to 'hear" an answer; I don't seem to be able to hear from Him so well as some others I know.

But surprisingly, a thought mixed with a feeling came to me,

"I just want to be remembered."

    Aw, Nebula.

I don't feel "convicted" about celebrating Christmas either but I do emphasize we celebrate the fact that He was born for a purpose to be our Savior and Messiah. We give gifts because God gave the greatest gift which is Yeshua, His Beloved Son. That is what Christ-mas is all about: celebration of Christ's birth.

All the other "stuff" during Christmas is just that... "stuff". I don't even mind gifts or lack of gifts for myself.

A lot of the traditions come from Germany. There are other traditions that aren't celebrated widely in the U.S. when it comes to Christmas but you may see those in some Western European countries.

    Just my 2 cents in.

  5. That is actually a good idea to memorize parts of Scripture at a time. It helps us to focus on what we're memorizing.

I did Philippians 4:19 few years ago- it just stuck into me. It came in "handy" (not sure if I like this phrase but can't think of anything better to describe it) when a situation occured and the Lord saw me though it.

  6. Quote weeklystandard.com;

Sebelius: Health Care 'Really Is an Issue of National Security'

Dec 1, 2011 • By DANIEL HALPER In South Carolina earlier today, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said "that America’s health is a matter of national security and that she’s optimistic the Supreme Court will uphold the nation’s health care reform law," the Associated Press reports.

During a visit to the South Carolina coast, Sebelius spoke with a black nurses group and then was to attend a conference on improving access to health care.

The nation’s health “really is an issue of national security,”
she told the nurses group, adding that a healthy, productive work force “is an essential part of our prosperity.”

These folks are shameless in their attempt to deceive.

    National Security?

  7. Nearly three years into President Obama’s first term in office, Michelle Obama finally said something with which I can agree.

At a recent fundraiser for President Obama’s re-election campaign in Providence, Rhode Island, the first lady told her audience:

“We stand at a fundamental crossroads for our country. You’re here because you know that in just 13 months, we’re going to make a choice that will impact our lives for decades to come … let’s not forget what it meant when my husband appointed those two brilliant Supreme Court justices … let’s not forget the impact that their decisions will have on our lives for decades to come.”

This will affect 2nd. Amendment rights, perhaps forever?

"brilliant" may be subjective, I think, in her opinion of the judges her husband picked.

  8. Rezko Sentenced to 10½ Years, Media Ignore It And/Or His Ties to Obama

    By Noel Sheppard | November 23, 2011 | 10:40

Depending on which news outlet you rely on for current events, you may not have heard that convicted Chicago real estate developer Tony Rezko was sentenced to 10½ years in prison Tuesday.

On top of this, unless you read the following report from Reuters, you mightn't have known just how connected he was to a junior senator from Illinois who just so happens to be the President of the United States:

Against the tide neb. Some people would claim that all these people that Obama is tied to don't even live on the same planet he does so there is no way he could know them.

So, there really is life on Mars?

Sorry- Just had to say it... lol.

  9. Oh yeah. I was on a board that discussed Global Warming. I'm kind of burnt out on that topic but I don't hold it in high regard.

There was an article somewhere before that I think I saw about NASA documents showing there wasn't much to Global Warming as stated.

Al Gore had a cussing fit about the global warming deniers in a public speech at some event. Obviously, he was very angry he wasn't taken that seriously as a prophet of global warming doom. :lightbulb2:

I think it probably had more to do with the fact that he was going to take a bath on the sales of carbon credits.

    That too.

  10. I was referring to the hypothetical arguments you presented and they all seem to lean toward a sliding slope of relativism and those arguments doesn't quite work for abortion especially if one is so inclined to define abortion purely from a disassociated point of view.

Hope you get the connection now.

You are misreading his responses. Luftwaffle is showing how this event completely collapses the pro-abortion camp's attempt to dehumanize the unborn.

Uh- that is kind of what I meant.

  12. This has me thinking...

Apparently the family is taking legal action for this event.

I would love to know what the charge would be. If the charge is negligent homicide and the court rules in favour of the plaintiff, then by law any late term abortion must be a homicide?

But the family has consented to have the sick baby injected initially so even if they do win the case, they would have been fine with killing the sick baby. The only difference is that the

one had congenital heart disease and the one didn't. So killing people with congenital heart disease isn't homicide?

The same logic applies to something like involuntary manslaughter.

Either way the implications don't work well for abortion.

Other options may include a negligent destruction of private property charge, or suing for psychological trauma, which avoids dealing with the humanness of either baby, but then any baby is devalued. Which would mean that if somebody maliciously murders a baby while in the womb, at best the charge would be rather minimal.

    Slippery slope....

  14. I realize this is kind of an oldie thread but I checked the website. Interesting. I probably liked the bright pink swim skirt and a matching tank top would do fine.

I usually wear one piece and a shirt over unless the shirt impedes my swimming. I don't swim much these days but I do make my daughter wear one piece swimwear or at the least two full pieces like a tank top and a skirt or skort. She was on the swim team this past summer and all the kids wore regulation swimwear that was pretty modest for the girls.

  15. I don't intend to vote for Obama unless some clown like Cain is nominated. He is a nice guy, he has no business being president though.

I have been thinking about this comment you made Forrest, in calling Herman Cain a clown. You could go to any tv station in America or any circus, draw lots between all the clowns and make one the GOP nominee, and I would vote for that person over Obama. They couldn't do any worse. If you could vote for someone worse than a clown, you could surely support a clown. I would compare Obama to a clown, but that would be insulting to clowns.

I'm sorry but I had to LAUGH at the mental picture of the clowns huddled in a circle while someone push a clown and sticks on his head a hat with GOP nominee written on it. :24:
