If you have no interest, no need to reply, otherwise it just clutters the thread with irrelevant posts, and provides nothing useful.

We have seen quoted, that Jesus said that for those who can receive it, indeed, Eiljah has come, in the person of John the immerser (baptist). Does this mean the John is literally Elijah? I doubt it. Jesus said John came in the spirit and power of Elijah. I take this to mean that John the immerser, fulfilled some of the role of Elijah, but that this is in the form of a type, a symbol, prefillment, not a fulfillment.
In any case, we know that John the immerser, does not totally fulfill the prophecy of Elijah's return. How do we know this?
In Matt 17:11, Jesus refers to Elijah's coming as a yet future event. When Jesus said this, John had already been beheaded, so obviously, the coming that Jesus referred to in Matt 17:11, is distinct from John the immerser.
In Mark 9 we see this:
11They asked Him, saying, “Why is it that the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 12And He said to them, “Elijah does first come and restore all things.
Isn't that interesting, not only does Elijah come, he apparently restores all things. What ever that means, it seems that Elijah's role is major, perhaps more major than announcing the Messiah - preparing the way, shouting in the wilderness. In John 1, we see this also:
21They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
So, John the immerser's own testimony, is that he is not Elijah.
I have to say, that the bulk of the evidence points to John not being Elijah.

God's crowning achievement to His creation, created in His own image is trash?

FIrst of all Omega lets keep it clean...ok?I don't want to look at any girl with her boobs hanging out which is the case with the girl you posted with the pink dress and head phones. You will not be welcome on this thread if you continue to do so.She said He said is funny and crazy thread but lets keep it appropriate and Christian.I respect the thread to much to trash it up.I do not consider the pink lady a good Christian influence. Please do not associate my bopeep with that person you posted.I don't find it either cute or funny....
oh brother! I don't see any "boobs hanging out", nor do I think I see a woman, look like a manikin or a doll I think. If you want a funny and crazy thread, maybe lighten up a little, or you might limit participation to those types of believers who think dancing and musical instruments are a sin, Christmas is of the Devil, and always look like they just ate a sour persimmon. The fear of encountering people like that, keeps many people out of churches. People are attracted to persons who love, accept, are fun, generous, kind, and who know how to accept people and their flaws, yet without compromis of principles and being over judgmental on the small and debatable stuff.
It looks to me that you asked why the association with an aviator, that picture did a great job of illustrating the point. If that picture offends you, I assume you must either:
Never go outside
Never read a magazine or else are terminally offended
Never use the internet

I saw that, but I used self control! There was a really funny one I thought about posting, but I think it is not politically correct enough, shame.

Probably one of those stories that took a small bit of truth and exaggerated it waaaaay beyond imagination. with that being said, interesting lol.
As the author of the story, I can assure you that is the case, some truth, a fair amount of exageration, and some out and out lies!

Well, I guess anything is possible, when you take a philosophical look at Hell instead of Biblical examination of hell.

I am sorry, but I wanted to post this in conspiracy, but it doesn't really sound like a conspiracy. Add to that the fact that I am not authorized to post in that thread, and since it is intended to be mildly amusing, here you go.
Electro-Magnetic Pulse Weaponry - April 17, 2013
The U.S. Navy is said to be developing a new super magnet that will reach 250 Tesla in magnetic fied strength, roughly equivalent to 5 million refrigerator magnets.
The purpose of the magnet is unclear, but it has been learned that the specifications for the mounting base, match the specification for some sort of pad being retrofitted to the Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). The 1092 feet long vessel is currently moored in SanDiego, California, where this work is being prepared. A satelite image reveals the modifcations being made.
Challenges exist in magnets of this strength. For example, if not poperly shielded, energizing the magnet could pull an anchor off the sea bottom and tear through the hull of the ship. It could damage steel framed buildings. If there is a particularly heave metal object in range, the force could tear the magnet from the deck of the ship. The magnet is so powerful, that it will be able to impart at atractive force of several hundred pounds on a metallic object as small as a can of tuna, 25 miles away at 1/3 power.
Coincidentaly, the new Gerald R. Ford class aircraft carrier, is said to have three times the electrical generating capacity as the Nimitz class carriers have. The First Ford class carrier, is scheduled for delivery in 2015, and feature a similar looking mounting area on deck.
The Reagan (and many other warships) is fitted with a dual band radar system capable of resolving metalic objects the size of a golf ball, at 100 miles distance. Speculation is that the radar in cunjunction with the magnet, might be some sort of weapon system, able to deactivate or perhaps even remove enemy weapons at a safe distance. The radar could be used to aquire targets made of metal, and the magnet subsequently pulsed to damage, move or remove objects containing magnetic material.
Certainly, this could be used to disarm soldiers of rifles etc, conventional forms of attack are equally effective and are more cost efficient however. Speculation exists that in as much as the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan is scheduled for deployment off the coast of North Korea, that perhaps the magnet might be able to splash a missile. Current anti-missile technologies exist, but are not 100% effective.
A more likely use of the magnet, is to use it to capture enemy personnel:
