Hey some thoughts from a guy who used to have over 400 8 tracts, albums, and cassettes pertaining to many sorts of secular music. Rock, rap, jazz, country, you name it.

After a few short years in my new found walk in Jesus Christ, I found myself understanding that the secular music industry are "false preachers" in a sense.

Their message? Blaspheming God, sex, drugs, rebellion, witchcraft, depression, suicide, alcohol, killing, pride, bestiality, add infinitum...

And that is still their message today!

So, at the Lord's beckoning in 86, I tossed all of them in the trash. Some of them collector’s albums worth money because of their mint/pristine shape.

On the "swear words" ask God to help you grow in His ways, consider a few of His verses on the matter.

I'm no longer a Christian. I felt that God hasn't really been there to help me, but to persecute me, or to help people persecute me. I have now resumed my status as an agnostic.

Oh yeah. I have started singing and rapping. Mainly secular. And I always try to respect the music I am doing. So you may hear a few swear words. When I write music, it's rare that I swear in my own lyrics. So don't have a go at me if I swear in a video.

I have only been here for under a week, but I have noticed that no one replies to topics that I've started. This is my 11th post. About 3 or 4 of them are topics that I've started. To my knowledge, only 1 topic of mine has received a reply. That topic is where I introduced myself to WCF.

Why is that? Are my topics not interesting? Do you ignore posts from new members? I don't get it.

I am not sure why that is? I usually just scan what is in the threads, and if something pops up that looks interesting, I read it and decide if there is anything to add? Sometimes the OP is something I agree with, so I just leave it be because there is nothing to add? Sometimes it is not something I have time to get into? I will take a few minutes to see what you have been posting and get back to you.

To be honest, most threads aren't really that interesting here. Someone start a thread about Catholicism not being Christian and I will happily debate it with you.

Because of this post I was prompted to go and read all 11 of your posts to understand why I have not responded to anything you have written. Upon reading them, I found that you posted 1 that was of interest and that was your recent enrollment in college. I do not have interest in gaming nor sports as I see both as a waste of time considering that I am working to do that with my life that Jesus, as I understand him, would do with his in my place. The fact that you are new has little to nothing to do with not replying to posts you make. You posted about recently receiving a NLT translation in a thread that has a topic that usually goes bad and I chose deliberately not to get involved much in the thread.

That said, I would like to encourage you to think about something for a moment. This thread is centered around you and how your being affected by what you perceive to be the lack of attention you are receiving here on the boards. My whole life has been lived this way, looking at myself and how the things/people in the world affect me, until I began to understand that I needed to see what I could bring to the world rather than what I can get out of it. If these things bother you, then I plead with you to go to our Father in heaven and ask him to help you be confirmed more to his image so that you will be less self-involved and more other centered. Please understand, I am not condemning you or putting you down but rather seeing in you the person I was before Gods grace changed me. I remember what it was like to be in your shoes and hope that you can one day see it as I do now because it is beautiful from my new perspective.

If you would like to start a PM with me and chat back and forth about the things of God and living as a Christian who is seeking to know and be known of God, I would be happy to entertain conversation with you and give you all I can to help you grow in Gods grace as it is the grace of God that replaces the self centered thought life with thoughts of your fellows and him.

I am a regular user of christianchat.com. I have been a member since March this year. You start as a Junior Member. When you reach 30 posts, you become a Member. Once you reach 100 posts, you become a Senior Member. I recently became a Senior Member on the site. Many of my threads and posts have been replied to there. So I am wondering why that isn't happening here on WCF.

Well, I can't answer that for you without going and doing the footwork to read your posts over there. I don't have the time to do such but simply encourage you to see what you can bring to the table here and continue posting.

I enjoy gaming, but haven't done much lately. Most recent system is the Gamecube.

If you like the Gamecube but want to try something new, purchase a Wii. Then when you want to play a game for the Gamecube, put the disc into the Wii and it works.

You want a good RPG? I think the Fable game series on the Xbox 360 is an RPG. There is also The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age on the PS2 (I know the PS2 is retro, but there are some good games on it that you can't get on anything else).

I love video games. My favorite is on the xbox360....and It has LOTS of violence and profanity and plain out sinful things, but I know that it isn't real....OBLIVION....

Still, a lot of people despise FPS's like Call of Duty because it sort of mocks the real thing. On the game, when you die, you respawn about 5 seconds later. In real life however, once you're dead, there is no respawn option.

I would love to buy a new game but my video card and system is obsolete and I can't run new releases. The newest game I have is older Halo (which I beat). I love Clancy's Rainbow six 3, I know it is old.

Can't you purchase a new or better console? Try beating Ratchet and Clank 3 (PS2) about five times.

When I was in high school, I was the goalkeeper for their football/soccer team. Are there any other goalkeepers here?

I recently received an NLT One Year bible. One Year bibles are a great ways to read and study the bible.

I'm a Christian and I have a political opinion. I support the Labour party. Mainly because they believe that children and teenagers should not suffer because of the economic crisis. The government is taking away opportunities for young people to cover the financial debt. It's not right. I'm a young person. I can't go out and do stuff because there is nothing to do.

I own a KJV, NKJV, NIV, NLT and a Portuguese translation of the NT. I also use the ESVUK, RSV, NASB, ASV and many others when I have the opportunity. I mainly use the KJV because it is the version that I got attached to more than my first bible, which is an NIV. Many English translations are accurate, you just got to find out which versions you think are accurate.

I play video games a lot. I play on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.
