Well I can answer the opposite in saying in OVER 4.5 billion years, anything is possible. I have studied philosphy and yes, how can something as beautfiul as life be a coincidence? God MUST have done it... Well if you go into science like I have, you will notice that life is just a fragile piece of luck with no manufactiring behind it. Evolution explains it all for me. I've heard it before that the truth is all around me and all but I don't believe in that because for me, everything around me is a geneitcal make up... A life form with certain DNA and all. Nothing godlike about it. But let's just stop... You know there is no middle ground since we have both made up our minds.

I got no problem with you believe in a god but the thing is, i need PROOF of what I see and what I live in... I mean, for you, if a big book full of stories is enough to satisfy your thrist for knowledge, then so be it. I find that accepting god is the simple answer to all of life's problems. I'm in no way trying to aggravate you people, just I don't share your views. I need solid proof and so far, only science has proven that. I mean, the Pope (thus christinaty) used to say that Galileo (the man who said the Earth is NOT the center of the universe)was a heritic and he was prosecuted and almost killed but the reason the Church back then never finished him off is because what he showed was irrefutible. The proof was solid. Before Pope Johny died, the actually admitted that Galileo was right (200 years late). Just to show you that even if in the bible it says the earth is the center of everything, science proved it otherwise and every person on this planet believes that. Because it's true and we have hardcore proof.

Just because a passage in the bible said that he won't change doesn't mean it's true. If I tell you god just came to me and told me that he was powerless to stop katrina, would you believe me? No... And same goes for the bible. Some "men" wrote it way back and who knows what they might have been doing before writing that book! Honestly, I say that Katrina = Gloabal Warming and you guys have a lously president who just didn't look at the warnings seriously.

Trying to add some humor... Just because something is written in the bible back then doesn't mean it's true today. So how come we can PREDICT the weather if god is the one controling it? If it's god toy, then it's beyond human comphrension. How can we EXPLAIN weather (tornados and hurricans for example) if it's in god's control? How can we ANTICIPATE what he will do? Seriously, religion is okay and all but there are limits to what you must believe in.

by now evolution should be a fact. For the people among us, let me try to tell you what I know and please point out whatever is wrong. Big Boom. Universe. Galaxies. Milkyway ----> Solar system from primordial Sun. Earth. Okay so our planet is made, so far only the big boom is fishy and we're solving it. Dark matter, anti matter and other complicated things. So earth... Big planet, thick atmoshpere, tectonic mouvement, volcanic activity and stuff. Rain. Oceans. So we got water after MILLIONS and MILLIONS of years. Time. Time and Rain makes life with Oxygen and slowly, the first primordial bactery were made. How? God? Satan? No simply by the most simple explanation, a sudden change. An impact from a meteor, atmoshpere becoming very toxic, whatver. It just had to be a change and the Earth reacted by making life. So life evolves for millions of years and SUDDENLY, multi celled organisms. How? Again, not got or ET but a sudden change (meteor seems the simplest...) Anyways, if you use my arguments till now, no biggie. So life evoolves. Slowly but getting faster. Land animals start coming, trees, dinos, etc... Then mammels get the upper hand when dinos killed off. Keeps on moving till apes start getting smarter. They change according to the eviroment and what do you know? We find us at the end. So what is wrong with that? Where are the missing links?

You guys are spinning around the question... You all say God exists because of a Bible! Who wrote it? God? Jesus... What of other religions? Allah? Boudha? It's all the same stuff! The human brain for the guy with the prob is a complex amount of nurons and stuff (my dad's a biochemist and studies theses sorta things) and the reason we don't understand ALL of it is because every thing from the area to the shape has an influence and it's too much for us to achieve with our mediocre technology... The reason life began on Earth is not because god touched earth and life sprouted! It's more or less certain that a meteor crashed into earth and began life like that, bringing new bacteria onto your planet. The universe was never created by God... All the physics prove otherwies... And dan, I'm not chrisitan and I don't do Xmas (which if you didn't know, from recent new testamonies found, Xmas isn't the birthday of Jesus We found out it's more likely around Spetember 15th!!! And the reason Xmas is on the 25th is because a Pope in about 1300 chose to have it then...) Traditions are from ancient times and it's time we let go of all thise to move foreward! Religion is and always has held us back! From the time when it wasn't allowed to say Earth was NOT in the center of the universe to today with the Church saying that Geneitc Research is bad... And abortion is bad... And wait, if your God is all powerful, we does bad happen? Why do young children get blown up for nothing (like in moscow)???

I live in a world full of FACTS only and it comes down to God which is the only thing that stands against science! I don't think any of you can even answer these questions! Why was God created? Who created God? Is God all powerfull? Can God change our life? Why are there more than 1 religion? Etc... I believe God was created for the weak of mind... When man was young, in Egypt, everything out of understanding meant God was it... The sun... The moon, why the nile flooded and the rest! Same with other things like Thunder. In austrailia, before we could explain thunder, people thought it was 2 Gods playing and fighting together! And as we slowly began to explain the world, we let go of God as a reason and replaced it with hard cold facts....

The problem is that I live in a very scientific area and either people call me evil sinn which I disagree with OR they tell me god doesn't exist... It's very tough for me to even begin understanding how prayers can help! I've prayed since I'm young but still no avail

Hi, I'm new to the boards... And well, it's just to talk about my spirtualism... I don't feel connected to a higher being and feel lost... I'm not an atheist... More of an ignostic (don't know which religion is the best...) and I don't know if God is even up there... I'm just soo lost! And many people don't let me try to connect because my name backwards in my mother tongue means Devil... Am I really bad? Why don't I feel connected? Help?
