  1. So you are saying you hold him in high esteem and he hurt you with his reply. Who else has hurt you? Someone has for you to feel this way.
  2. I'll be looking for you to say something good about someone.
  3. Okay, and who are they? Have you found any? Can you name them? Or is this just some kind of hatred game you play with Osteen?
  4. Then who would you listen to? Who do you listen to? What church do you go to? You want to be so critical about Joel Osteen? Let's hear about you.
  5. Yes, Joel blew it that day, not prepared at all. Who else has done that? Presidents have done that. I'm sure many others. Would Larry King catch him off guard again? I doubt it. Did you ever do anything wrong? Say the wrong thing? Realize what you were believing was wrong? Did people hate you for it and bad mouth you forever for it even though you changed? Hasn't every TV preacher done something wrong? Should we show hatred to all of them? How many Christians bad mouth Joel Osteen without ever seeing him even once on Tv? Without having ever seen him preach within the confines of a Lakeland Church service? Without ever having read one of his books? The hatred Christians show Joel Osteen is far greater than the mistakes he has made in life. And the devil likes it that way.
  6. Paul spoke to Titus of the church, but the church was made up of a lot of unbelievers. Titus had a tall task ahead of him. 2 Timothy talks of disowning God That's what they were doing on Crete Claiming they were saved but disowning God 2Timothy 2:10; says, "Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory". Now what does that mean? And how does it go along with 2 Timothy 2:11-13?
  7. Listen to a Lakeland church service rather than shortened sermon made for TV. The Lakeland church is very good and there are more speakers than just Joel Osteen. Even so, he fits in well and I look upon him rather highly. I've gone to so many churches and so many pastors these past 30 plus years, and no one's any better than Joel Osteen.
  8. I think Joel Osteen is good. If you listen to the Lakeland church service on the internet every Sunday morning, you will feel fulfilled in many ways you don't get in local churches. I feel bad that people think so poorly of him when he does so much good.
  9. 2 Timothy 2:12; is related to Titus 1:16; "They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him". Titus is talking about a false profession of faith. Luke 9:62; speaks of indecision and backsliding. That's really changing the subject.
  10. You don't have to tell them what to do. That's not what the thread is all about. Reread the OP.
  11. What if God doesn't accept that? What if he stays on you all the days of your life until you give in and go to heaven when you die? Why? Because he promised he would never let go of you. You may be a quitter. You may see others as being a quitter. But God is not a quitter. You may break your promises, but God will not break his promises. You may think you are so big that you can tell God what to do, but I disagree with that. And you may know the words on how to get rid of God, but why would you even think them? Why would you tell other people how to do it? Why do you tell other people they have the right to do it? When was the last time you read about the Garden of Eden? Who's side are you on?
  12. The Gospel is all about Good News. What you say here is bad news. Why?
  13. So if I say "Jesus is no longer my Lord", then I'm no longer saved?
  14. Are you a nun? Like a Mother Superior or something?
  15. That's called "Lordship salvation". Very legalistic.
  16. Simply you say. Sounds simple enough. How do I take the truth I have already received in my heart, and take it out of my heart and place it elsewhere? Does that sound like a foolish question? It sounds foolish to me. Yet this is exactly what non-OSAS people say we can do.
  17. Hi Heaven, Notice that falling away is not spoken of as anyone the writer is speaking to. In fact, in verse 9 he says we are confident of better things in your case. What he is doing is, starting in verse 4, pointing out the perils of apostasy. And these apostates are a direct reference to 1 John 2:19; "They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us." If you continue reading Hebrews from this point forward, you'll see the church being edified more and more.
  18. Thank you royal member for the answer and for giving me your time. But I could argue or debate is a better word all day long. As a teenager, I stopped obeying my parents out of rebellion. I knew what they were saying was the truth but I stopped obeying it anyway. I knew they were still my parents and in my own way, I still loved them. Therefore, I don't see stop obeying the truth as being a way to stop believing.
  19. For all you non-OSAS believers out there, I was wondering, how do I stop believing that God has saved me and start believing I can quit believing when I want.? Please noticed I asked "how" do I stop believing, not why or any other question. If I decide to quit Christianity, I need to know how to do it. And who better to ask than the "believing that you can do it experts."
  20. You seem to have great knowledge in this. I was prayed over in church but did not receive the gift of tongues. Then, in the middle of the night as I slept, I started speaking in tongues and woke up my wife. She told me about it in the morning as I prayed in tongues all night. I've been doing it ever since. 18 years now. If the gift is dead, then what am I doing and where did it come from?
  21. He sees the money Copeland's making, and he wants in, enough to make Copeland vice-Pope.
  22. No, I meant this one. https://pulpitpimps.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/pope-copeland.jpg
