  1. Welcome sister :) Television has gotten so bad that I gave it up 3 years ago. we only watch DVDs of what God has shown us to be uplifting to Him. It is in our best interest to keep focused on righteous things. As we grow in the Lord, giving up unrighteous things becomes easier and everything that is not righteous seems to become trivial. WE also gain strength to overcome future struggles when we are in total surrender. I`m glad that you are here. I pray we get to fellowship often. God bless you!

  2. woops! I chose to post this topic and another in this forum so I could get to my 5 posts so I could than begin to post in other forums but just read that this forum is for welcome topics only. Please forgive me worthychat admin *blush* I noted the forum rules :) God bless

  3. He is risen indeed! But far too many are living life as a christian atheist. As if He doesn`t exists :( They miss out on His blessings and daily victories. His transforming power in our lives is real and is in harmony with genuine surrender. Daily self examination is crucial in this ongoing battle of the mind and heart. Daily devotion to Him is essential for growth, discernment, and strength. He is our Refuge, our Comforter, our High Tower, our Rock and our Constant Mediator of grace

  4. Do we love Jesus? Do we truly believe His words? Do we apply those words to our life , especially in moments we are put to the test? Or do we continue to let our selfish pride take precedence over He who should reign supreme in our heart and life?! These are crucial questions we should ponder if we truly care about growing closer to Him. We are to put ourselves aside and surrender to His will led of the Holy Spirit. But we always more often greive His spirit and break His heart by making Him second place with our words and actions. Are we growing in Him and becoming a new creature or is our growth being stunted by allowing our carnal feelings and lack of control take front row over Jesus our Precious Savior? Do we love ourselves more? He was cursed, spit upon, beaten and nailed to a cross for OUR punishment, yet not an offensive word left His lips. He did or said nothing to provoke or argue. Even in that very moment He provoked love by forgiving those who persecuted Him. We spit in His face time and time again by putting ourselves above Him yet He ALWAYS forgives us.

If we truly believe and love His Holy Word, than it should be ever present in our hearts and minds. We should be cautious to it. He says we are to forgive just as He forgives us! Over and over and over and over! How doomed we would be without His continual forgiveness! There is no time for anything less than this. The power of His truth must be applied in our lives when we are put to the test. Because we love Him and because we can't do it without His lead. What strength do we have in Him by not doing so? He loves ALL! We are to bless those who persecute us and seek to cause us anguish or pain. Not repay evil with evil and call it justified. Jesus and His mercy, love and forgiveness is our justification and we don't deserve it any more than the next person. No one is without sin! God says what we do and say to others, we are doing to Him. To Him!! That is serious! We must die to self and allow the God we say we love and are waiting for to return show His mighty power in our life to a dying world. Nothing else is more important than that! Jesus is more important than me!! Let us be mindful of Him unceasingly! God bless you all!

  5. Love and compassion can be shown in many different ways. A kind word, a thoughtful deed or even a smile. These are but a fraction of the lengths the action of love can manifest in. Love is best revealed in selflessness. When one holds others in regards above themselves. This does not mean that how we feel is not important, but rather, how we feel is uplifted as we reach a place where our delight is to serve others.
When our satisfaction comes from the spiritual, emotional and/or physical gain of others.

Perhaps even in the deeper depths of this love, is allowing it to flow freely to all we encounter. The undeserving and those who may consider us an enemy. What real meaningful satisfaction is there in repaying wrong doings with a trivial instant gratification of vain vindication? What is accomplished?  When we reward ill intentions with good intentions, it kills the spreading of a deadly poison called hate. It administers grace in the place of revenge and peace in the place of chaos.

When people and/or circumstances are interacted with by this standard, it plants a seed of good behind the scenes and sometimes turns thoughts, feelings and events around on a dime. Whether or not the other person acknowledges our efforts immediately or even at all is of no consequence because it is not in vain and will bloom beautiful results in it's own way and time. We can never truly understand what others have been through or why they behave the way that they choose. This is where compassion should be a constant virtue amongst our inner thinking. Encouragement has a huge impact on others and love, in even the smallest measure, breaks the bondages of hate, fear and sorrow

Self control is essential when dealing with selflessness, and it is not always easy. However, to practice something is to allow ourselves to get better at what we practice until it becomes part of our nature. We are everchanging and growth is an important part of life and it's endeavors. Our biggest enemy is often ourselves and selflessness truly sets us on a path to freedom and love is and should be the whole duty of man. God bless you all!
