I agree with you in that we are seeing the unfolding of Bible prophecy in the Middle East. But might the region already have come under the leadership of one leader who as you point out "utters great boasts"?
Surah 19.88 They say: "(Allah) Most Gracious has begotten a son!" 89 Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!
In the book of Revelation we read: Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Daniel defines the term "beast": Daniel 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth...
Daniel not only defined the term "beast" but he did so in the very same context of the figurative language of a prophetic dream, and even used the very same three figures when he did so.
Daniel 7:4 The first [was] like a lion, and had eagle's wings...
Daniel 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear...
Daniel 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard...
Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly...
Christians, as well as Jews that don't yet recognize Jesus as their Messiah, understand Daniel's "lion" "bear" and "leopard" to have been the successive ancient kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia and Greece. John informs us that Satan gives the beast his power, seat and great authority.
What countries occupy the seats of those ancient kingdoms today?
Babylon is today Iraq, Medo-Persia is Iran, and Greece is Syria-Lebanon.
While the false prophet Muhammad's followers may have disagreements in doctrine that even incite them to murder each other, the composite kingdom "beast" described by John are all perfectly united spiritually by the false prophet Muhammad and by his Quran, and they are each and every one necessarily united by the spirit of antichrist as an article of their faith in the false prophet Muhammad alone. Indeed Muhammad's followers are taught that to confess that Jesus is the Son of God or even to pray in Jesus' name, is to commit the single most "heinous" and only unforgivable sin ("shirk") in Muhammadanism.
Quran Surah 9.29 Fight those who believe not in Allah ..... (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. 30 The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!
1 John 2:22 .....He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:
Through the traditional approach to Bible prophecy of historicism is isn't difficult to see that the "beast" of Revelation 13 may well be THE false prophet Muhammad's Islamic kingdom. Particularly when we view the "whole world" through an ethnographic hermeneutic, and understand Revelation as what had been, was at John's time, and was to be in John's future, regarding John's "whole world" (check Strong's for "world").
I believe that The Islamic State - which may be the tenth Caliphate - may well be the 10th horn on that composite leopard-bear-lion Islamic kingdom "beast".
