It has become apparent to the wife and myself that we want to go South to live. We've been in New England all our lives, more or less. Now in our mid-fifties, we are weary of the cold and need a modest home with only one floor, due to the wife's M.S., mostly. A small yard for the dogs, and a peaceful neighborhood with caring neighbors.
With 7 to 10 years left in me before Retirement, I am looking for work in South Carolina or Georgia, effective yesterday morning, and the wife is encouraging it. I'm not hooked into LinkedIn or Monster.com anymore these days, and am not sure how to best farm myself in the current market, after 12 years with my current employer; so I'll just start "networking" the best way I know how, and drop a hint wherever.
After fifteen years in QC (as a Tech, Auditor, Consultant, Troubleshooter, liaison between Suppliers and our company) and 40 years in Manufacturing, I believe I have a great nose for processes that work, and don't work, and can see things with an extremely experienced eye. My communication skills are there, and I've traveled the world (China, Mexico, etc) to evaluate our Sub-Contractors.
My "Church" experience is as a Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and sometimes Pulpit filler (Baptist Churches predonminently, but leaning towards Non-Denominational thinking these days) Music Director, Music Board Chair, Special Music (performer and coordinator). Saved for many many years, and living the life of a Believer for "real," (along with my wife).
The goal: get away from New England winters (we LOVE South Carolina, near Charleston); sell the house here, and find a single-story home (no stairs) and few leaves (love Pine trees).
We realize that we will be further away from our kids, our grandkids, and our burial plots, but we are willing to travel the extra miles (or have THEM travel the extra miles) in order to find our dream.
Ready and available..........Lord Jesus........where do you want us? Guide and Direct according to your Perfect Will, as we wait humbly to see the open door(s) you allow in our lives.
Pray that the wife and I will see clearly, the Lords' Desires for us, and able to see the pitfalls along the way that would attempt to snare us, and pull us off the path.
Who knows.........you never know who might read this and be prayerfully praying right now, for someone like me to be available to serve. Lord I am willing........do as you must.
