  2. it is no harm to remind you,  that most things on earth (society/ corporations/ churches/ businesses) are corrupt and deceitful - as someone said "not real and counterfeit".  most 'liturgy' for example has the form of religion but denies the power of Yahweh and has nothing to do with Yeshua.

like a few posts back - Paul was addressing those who the religious leaders were trying to decieve.

well, today, the religious leaders are having a heyday !  protected (wickedly) by various carnal means from religious to civil to criminal, locally in many places, and right on up higher in all of the religious and political governments ....

i.e. what is accepted by the world, is false and deceitful - from the enemy of Jesus.

the only standard to rely on is Yahweh and HIS WORD, AND as He permits, His Revelation thru Yeshua  (not thru religious men or man's corruption or man's religion) .

this standard is perfect and reliable - you must rely on Yahweh here online, as there is much deception and lies posted.

always , like the BEREAN'S - REMAIN IN PRAYER and GO TO SCRIPTURE to see if what anyone says is true ----

almost everything you read (everywhere) and see (all around/ in person and on the tv if you watch) every day is a lie.   that's how bad the world and world church is, and how full of deceitful power is everyplace.

Amen. It is the personal relationship that makes all the difference. Thanks for sharing simplejeff. God be with us all in our desire to know Him and come to Him. In Jesus' name and for his sake. Amen.

  3. Amen and Amen. Thank you very much for this important additional information seabrook.  Anyone reading this message and the replies should be very moved by the example we have here of brotherly unity in the spirit. We all learn by helping each other and this is most pleasing to God. May He bless us all in our desire to know Him and come to Him. In Jesus name. Amen.

  4. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:27

This of course means that we must be guided by the Holy Spirit. It does not mean that we do not need church, pastors, priests or other spiritual help. The Holy Spirit will guide us especially in discernment of things we hear or even see. Personally I love the "as for you". Of course this puts a very personal touch on this particular passage.

There are several things to note in relation to this passage (and also include verses 20 & 21).

    1. It is a confirmation to those who possess God the Holy Spirit, that He Himself will teach them ALL THINGS. God will personally teach the sincere believer who wants the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

    2. Other Scriptures confirm that the Holy Spirit will lead and guide those who are regenerated. So there is nothing conditional or uncertain about what is promised here.

    3. The Holy Spirit and the written Word of God work in tandem. Since "all truth" is in Scripture, we must look to Scripture (not "Holy Tradition") for the truth, and to the Holy Spirit to understand all truth.  This also means that the Holy Spirit and the Word of God will convict us of our sins.

    4. God has given the Church (and individual churches) men who have the gifts of evangelist, pastor, and teacher. Those who are sound in doctrine can (and should) also be teaching the truth.  Unfortunately many pastors and teachers have compromised the truth.

    5. Some churches and denominations have clergy that are called "priests".  That in itself is a departure from the truth. All believers are a Royal Priesthood, and the shepherds of Christians flocks who should be feeding and leading are called elders (Gk presbuteros = presbyter). There must be a plurality of elders also. The New Testament does not allow for a man-made priesthood, and the Levitical priesthood has been abolished.

    Amen. Thank you.

  5. Let's look at this again:

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:27

The word "teach" is in the subjunctive mood, which means

The subjunctive mood is the mood of possibility and potentiality. The action described may or may not occur, depending upon circumstances. Conditional sentences of the third class ("ean" + the subjunctive) are all of this type, as well as many commands following conditional purpose clauses, such as those beginning with "hina."

This is not a simple statement of fact.  It is a CONDITIONAL statement beginning with "hina"

    "that"         ἵνα hina

     "anyone"  τις tis

    "to teach"    ιδάσκω didaskō

And it is something that may or may not occur depending on the circumstances.

John's letters are somewhat cryptic, especially when read in English.  People should be cautious about reading into them something that is not there.

There is nothing certain here about not needing anyone to teach you.

Amen. My own experience of many years of no church or pastoral teachings has proved that fact. Thanks for sharing theresalittleflower. God bless you indeed.

  6. Currently by all accounts the one world government and one world church is quite in control of the majority of places and peoples;   so people have to be even more prayerful in who they look to for any kind of spiritual help.

If they go with the broad road (most popular) , the end thereof is destruction.    Only if they find the narrow path will they find Life and Life abundantly .....   the Scripture is true :  (for those who have received the anointing - by Yahweh's Will)  and all those who are abiding in Yeshua find freely in Him peace and joy and righteousness, as well as eternal life.  i.e. seek Yahweh(the Creator) while He may be found.....

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:27

Amen. Thanks for sharing simplejeff. Indeed we need the anointing  to keep us on the right road. It is amazing even in our own 1st line church the number of folks who are more interested in the budget, liturgy and dogma than knowing Jesus Christ our only Lord and Savior. Of course we try not to judge anyone but sometimes it is shocking if we try to share the Gospel and Scriptures with some of these "Christians." Have a blessed and Holy day Jeff. God be with us all in Jesus' love and for His Sake. Amen.

  7. John says he wrote those words to encourage them concerning those who would seduce them.  The Pharisees were well known for travelling great distances to make disciples of themselves.  There are some accounts of men coming in and seeking to lead and have everyone follow them.  The pride of life and the love of money, where the phrase love if money speaks to a love of being one who shines rather than a love of currency, distort and destroy whole assemblies like those led by the one spoken of in 3 John.

I was one of these types without knowing it until someone showed me my ego and pride.  It came through even in the way I read aloud.  Sad really.

Today, I understand the comfirmation I have from the inner witness of the Holy Spirit but equally understand the need for the others who likewise have this annointing to confirm my teaching.

    I need all of you.

Amen. Thank you for sharing this gdemoss. "Today, I understand the confirmation I have from the inner witness of the Holy Spirit but equally understand the need for the others who likewise have this anointing to confirm my teaching." my thoughts as well. God bless us all in our desire to know Him and come to Him. In Jesus' name and for His Sake. Amen.

  8. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:27

  9. Matthew 8 N.I.V.

    The Man With Leprosy

1When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.2A man with leprosy [31] came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."3Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured [32] of his leprosy.4Then Jesus said to him, "See that you don't tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them." commentary:Jesus Christ is always willing to heal any one of us. It is really a matter of "are we willing" to receive His awesome blessings. Many folks miss the point that when we read the Holy Bible God is talking to us. These messages are for us "TODAY". They are not miracles offered only in these stories but Jesus offers them to us if we will humble ourselves and come to Him. Praise God from whom "all" blessings flow.
