I mean no disrespect to you, but you should try reading the passages of the Bible where this comes from.

Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11 says that women may both pray and prophecy in church.

In chapter 14, he lists THREE groups of people who are to "keep silent" - and that chapter is about chaos in the worship service, not a blanket statement about all women.

    Paul says:

    1. Only two or three people may speak in tongues and if there is no interpreter, those speaking in tongues must "keep silent"
    2. Only two or three people may prophecy and if someone gets a word of prophecy, the one already speaking must "keep silent"
    3. Wives are to "keep silent" and ask any questions about the services of their husbands at home

There is no directive in the Bible for all women to be totally silent in church nor any directive that says a women cannot bring a problem to a man's attention.

My own pastor - years ago - denied the women of the church a women's prayer/bible study.  The men had a monthly time of fellowship/prayer groups/Bible study with men and we craved to pray together and read God's Word together as women.

He told us we could not because women were just a bunch of gossips and it would turn into a big gossip session.

Women at my church were broken to hear him say that to us.  One of the older and much wiser women of our church came to me (I was about 32 at the time) and asked if I would go privately  with her to his office and talk to him about this.  We did.  We did not "rebuke" him, but we explained our desire for women's prayer and Bible study.  He relented, but never apologized for the insulting remarks.

And we did not and do not hold it against him.  He has changed much over the past two decades.  I cannot imagine someone teaching that we had no Biblical right to address this with him in church.

As a minister I can assure you that I have read these passages many many time and have preached on them. If this is your interpretation then that's fine. We all have our back grounds that we came from. I am 74 years old and was taught God's word and ways long before the politically correct teaching came. This is the nice thing about this site. We can learn what other think and see or hear other opinions which I do with all respect. Have a nice day.

  2. I left the church that I was attending because I found out that the pastor believed one thing and taught another. Also, allowed women to rebuke men within the congregation. He said that he did not want to offend anyone. I am now having a hard time finding another church that will in fact preach the word of God. I'M not better than anyone else, but I will not lie about what God says just to be nice to anyone.

No I never said "one third is not in your book or the bible."

" I said ONE THIRD IS NOT ALL in my Bible," meaning one third does not mean all. You got it wrong jumping to conclusions, not I !

    Can we just move on?

DONT ACCUSE ME OF BLASPHEMING THE HOLY GHOST. WHO SAID ALL ANGELS ARE LOST? Where did you get that stuff? I said "ONE THIRD" of God's angels rebelled with Satan.

    Here is what I wrote, the first line of my post;

ONE THIRD IS NOT ALL IN MY BOOK OR THE BIBLE! Do read any of what is written or just jump to conclusions? You need to apologise for that statement.

Satan, who was once the most perfect angelic creation, and arc angel, (1 Chron. 21:1; Job 1:6-12; 2:1-7; Ezek. 28:11-17; Matt. 4:1-11; Pet. 5:8-9; Rev. 12:7-12; 20:1-10; Eph. 2:1-3; 2 Cor. 4;4; John 12:31).

    FALLEN ANGELS, (Matt. 25:41; Eph. 1;21; 3:10; 6:10-17; Rev. 12:7-12).

    DEMONS, (Matt. 4:23-24; 10:1-7; 12:22-32; mark 5; 1 Tim. 4:1; 1 John 4:1-6).

The confusion is in what you write. First you talk about one third of the angels, then next you say one third is not in your book or the bible. I did not accuse you of anything, I simply was making the point that one can loose his or hers salvation. Edit your next line. Do I read or do I not. Are you asking me or telling me?  Have a nice day. We all get mixed up on the key board at times.

Lucifer is an angel and angels can not be saved, only humans can. Nice try though.

These are the two people that lost their salvation that I KNOW OF. Lucifer and the Prodigal son. The Son got back with the father. This my son who was dead and is alive again. Can't do something again if you haven't done it before.

What America doesn't need, in fact what the entire world doesn't need anymore is, ear-ticklin', back-scratchin', penny-pinchin', nickel-nippin', soft-soap, compromising, pink-tea and lemonade type sissy preachers.

What America and the entire world desperately needs now is, old-fashioned, Bible-believin', people-lovin', barn-stormin', window-rattlin', shingle-pullin', God-minded, Hell-fire and damnation, separated, soul-winning, preachers who aren't afraid to preach  the truth!!!

I agree. Preachers today just don't want to offend anyone, they loose people, they loose money.

Catholics ( in some cases justifiably) hold a lot of flak for their holding on to manmade traditions often putting them on par or above the actual word of God. But I've found people of other denominations do this on other- thatnkfully non salvation related incidences. Whats frustrating is how people will cling to belief even tho contrary evidence is shown.

1)the KJV debate. I was raised thinking that the KJV with its 400 year old language is the only version of the bible to use. However rresearch lead me to see that while the KJV is excellent, there are recorded instances when other bibles give better explanations, plus some words have changed meaning since the 1700s so the KJV can give u slightly misleading or confusing messages.

For this reason some pastors who use KJV primarily will actually refer to the other versions with better explanations when the need arises.

But try telling that to people who have beenconditioned to be KJV only. I told a relative abt that and even gave examples (love of money is the root of all evil) . person started talking as if I'm some sorta heretic with  radical ideas.

2 I got a similar response when I pointed out that many instruments that we were brought up to think were inappropriate for service-guitar tambourine etc were actually permitted and encouraged in the bible.

    Just amazing

One mistake that Christians make is using the English  dictionary for words in the bible. I use the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries to define the words in the bible. Makes a big difference believe me..Have a good one.

You are just as saved, as you are "Born again".

And if you can become "unborn again", ......

    = Not going to happen.

Salvation is not a part time situation, and it does not depend on you to keep it., as it was not you that created you to be saved.

    What happened to Lucifer?

The Jews were warned before the Holocaust happened but they would not believe them. Many could have escaped. I think that the seven year tribulation will be somewhat like the Holocaust for the believers but much, much worse.

Just as the Jews could have been saved, I as a believe will be saved thanks to the Pre-trib rapture.

How about Eph 1:13 or John 6:39 or John 10:28-29 or 1 John 2:19? Or the hundreds of other verses that support OSAS? I find it fascinating that you can use a few  scriptures to support an unusual idea about the rapture but you fail to grasp Jesus message of eternal salvation and life everlasting.  To me the rapture is moot anyway, stroke, hit by a truck, raptured or old age when I die I go to be with Jesus forever as He has promised I have no need to fear otherwise. I often wonder if the people who picture God as hiding behind a tree waiting to snatch back salvation even know Jesus at all. They certainly do not have a relationship with the Jesus I know, love and serve. Meh, I guess all I can do is pray for them so I will.:)

Remember what that old serpent told Eve? She was with God, disobeyed and died spiritually, many are going to go for the lie, it's hard to obey God and easier to do your own thing.

From what I see this is the problem with contemporary christianity. Anything goes. We are all dead in our sins from birth. We are all separated from the Father right from the beginning. dying in sin only means we have lost our chance to repent. The choice is not to either reject or accept. We are rejected  from the beginning and Jesus saves us from this condition. What you seem to be saying is that until we reject Jesus we won't die in our sins. It might be pedantic but getting it right is important.

Remember the lie about dying that the serpent told Eve?

If your asking when the return of Christ will be the Bible says that only the Father knows the hour.  Not even the Son knows.  We will know the moment it happens.

Good answer, I don't know why anyone that reads the bible would ask this question.
