Do you have some information about 1 Thess 4:17 and Rev 12:5 that we don't know about, or is ignorance as blissful as denying the blessed hope?
-
I wouldn't go that far. Many nonbelievers have strange beliefs, read the wrong books. Ask him if he's non-osas, there's your proof.

Technically, Matt 24:20 is giving us two events (in winter nor on a Sabbath). The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week on any given week of the year. I guess when looking at it that way, the day and hour unknown has merit also. I hope this brings encouragement for October 10 rapture watch.. youtube(dot)com/watch?v=-0VhczXddBk Matt 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 5494 [e] χειμῶνος cheimōnos in winter, N-GMS 3366 [e] μηδὲ mēde nor Conj 4521 [e] σαββάτῳ· sabbatō on a Sabbath. It would be difficult for them to escape. Also, the weather in the winter could cause problems to the travellers. Another difficulty for the *Jews would be if they must travel on the *Sabbath. Jesus told them to pray that it would not be in winter or on a *Sabbath. The *Jews could only travel a short distance on the *Sabbath. That was the *Sabbath day’s journey. That was about 1000 yards or 900 metres (2000 *cubits). That rule was one of their traditions. To travel further would be work and they must not work on the *Sabbath day. The *Mount of Olives was about a *Sabbath day’s journey from Jerusalem (Acts 1:12). That distance would not be enough to escape on that day. *Jewish Christians may be unwilling to travel more than that distance. It's funny how nobody understands Gibbus, but he keeps posting anywaye

We don't get away with it iam, we are disciplined and sanctified through the power of the cross when we sin. Is it clicking yet?
-
Yes they are. You still don't get it. It hasn't "clicked" yet for you. People send themselves to hell by unbelief in the death, burial and resurrection, and you wonder why they call it easy believism? It's not so easy to believe is it? It's the power of God that keeps us saved, not anything we do. Pride keeps the focus on us, humility keeps the focus on God. 1 Cor 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
-
iam, yes you are talking about entering through works if you're adding hell to your doctrine. what you're saying is Jesus + forgiving others = keeping your salvation secure. If you don't forgive Tuesday and you die Thursday you're going to hell. That's false. In reality, Jesus paid the sin penalty for past, present, future sins, including not forgiving on Tuesday. ? It's a silly doctrine because you pick out certain sins that qualify for loss of salvation like unforgiveness. What about the 100 other sins you commit in your thoughts and actions every day. Are those included too? You would have to repent every minute of every day. You're right, you can't CON God. God knows who are truly born again and who are the religious. Jesus + 0 = salvation. God bless.
-
The world is trying to save themselves by entering through the wrong doors and their works. Somebody should tell them that there's only one door to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ himself. He IS the gate to salvation and eternal life, John 10. What is Jesus going to say to those trying to enter the kingdom through their works? Matt 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. God bless

What do you think discipline and sanctification is for, are you denying the power of God in the believer? Heb 12:4-13 James 2 has nothing to do with losing salvation. If you read closer, the topic is Godly righteousness or lack thereof. Why are you so focused on your sin. Believers are no longer condemned by their sin. There's a higher calling for us now, and that's to preach what Jesus did on the cross for us, not what we can do for ourselves. Preach the Glory of God, not the glory of man. Heb 6:4-6 and Heb 10:26-27 are actually a cross reference for the crucifixion of Christ and is using metaphorical language to describe the maturity of believers in Christ. Not many understand that Heb 6 thought process actually begins at Heb 5:11. Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the (mature), who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Heb 6:1 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to (maturity), not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, This has nothing to do with losing salvation, less one believes God throws believers into hell for lack of maturity, which is on the borderline of insanity. Non-osas says to repent of your sin while OSAS says to believe in the finished work of the cross and fully surrender to Jesus Christ. How can you fully surrender when you're still condemned through sin. God bless.
-
That is why true believers in Christ are covered under the blood. Jesus Christ is the only one who was perfect. It is a very dangerous place to believe in non-osas or works salvation. Your filthy religious works will not save you, neither will daily repentance. Belief in the death burial and resurrection is the only requirement, Jhn 3:3, Jhn 3:16, Rom 10:9. Believers follow the law not to save themselves but out of thankfulness of what Jesus Christ already accomplished for us on the cross. God bless.
-
It is if you add loss of salvation. Quenching the spirit is not loss of salvation, it's simply quenching the spirit.
-
Many people are missing the mark, they're all focused on legalism rather than the finished work of the cross. They never come to faith, but they have their works to show. Matt 7:22-23.
-
It's referring to quenching the spirit, not losing salvation.
-
Right, today the sin is unforgiveness. Tomorrow it'll be the 10 commandments. Next week, it'll be smoking a cigarette or jaywalking. Jhn 3:16-18 16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. Jhn 10:25-30 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30I and the Father are one.” Eph 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Rom 8:35-38-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Jhn 5:9-14 We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. 10Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. A - Admit you're a sinner B - Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead C - Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord God isn't looking for a Pharisee iam, He's looking for a relationship. Believe the Gospel and God's testimony, if not mine. God bless.
-
Well, thankfully our salvation isn't dependent on our imagination. The majority of people confess with their mouth, but their hearts are far from Him, Rom 10:9.
-
Right, God isn't a rapist type a thing? Eternal security is based on belief in the death burial resurrection, and sadly many do not have it because they prefer religion. God bless.
-
Iam, all the seals were already opened when John wrote Rev 6. The events in the seals however have not come to pass yet.
-
Timing is everything, if your timing is off then so is your wording.
-
No, your timing is off. The opening of the seals begins the 70th week. The great trib doesn't begin until the middle of the 70th week. Also, the day of the Lord spans from the first seal all the way to the end of the 1000 yr reign. God bless.
-
A better way to say it is, the entire 70th week is for the Jews and not the church. The Great Trib begins at the middle of the 70th week.
-
And that's what believers do, they continue in well doing, lest you be the accuser of the brethren.
-
It's not a matter of if we endure, it's a matter of when, at least for true born again believers it is. Apostasy occurs because they never had the root of salvation, which is Jesus Christ himself. They never came to a saving faith, they were never born again. Let me know if you see the contradiction (of non-osas) below. God bless. Matt 13:21 (does not use the word believe) (it uses trouble/persecution) Mark 4:17 (does not use the word believe) (it uses trouble/persecution) Luke 8:13 (uses the word believe) (aphistémi/depart) Rom 8:35, 38-39 (nothing can separate us, even trouble/persecution) 1 Tim 4:1 ( aphistémi/depart) Matt 13:21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Mark 4:17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Luke 8:13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. Rom 8:35, 38-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Tim 4:1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Luke 8:13 / Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible - which for a while believe: their faith is a temporary one, like that of Simon Magus; which shows it is not true faith; for that is an abiding grace, Christ, who is the author, is the finisher of it, and prays for it, that it fail not. The Persic version renders it, "in the time of hearing they have faith"; and such sort of hearers there are, who, whilst they are hearing, assent to what they hear, but when they are gone, either forget it, or, falling into bad company, are prevailed upon to doubt of it, and disbelieve it. The Arabic version renders it, "they believe for a small time"; their faith do not continue long, nor their profession of it, both are soon dropped: Pupp, Jesus comes like a thief to the world, to those who do not have the indwelling Holy Spirit, via the oil in Matt 25.
-
Pupp, this is why our eternal security is not based on works, it's based on belief in the finished work of the cross, Jhn 3:3, Jhn 3:16, Rom 10:9. The rapture is the escape.
-
Luke 21:36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man." 1 Thess 5:3 While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
-
Yes, if 5 years go by it is still a sign of the rapture and 70th week. The word "harpazo" in 1 Thess 4:17, Rev 12:5 and the 70th week in Rev 12:6-17 doesn't change, 2 Pet 3:9.
