Types,  we have types all over the bible.

1Co 10:6 Now these things were our examples(types), to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

1Cor 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples(tupos- types): and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

For example Nebuchadnezzar was the greatest and most powerful of the Babylonian kings.  He was also  " type " anti-christ.     The king of Babylonian (confusion) is Satan.

Dan 3:1 Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

This verse has "6's all over it.   Its a type of this verse.  The great men who have stood out in defiance of God, Goliath, Nebuchadnezzar and Antichrist are all emphatically marked by this number.

Dan 3:11 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

This image of the anti christ will be  broadcast to the world threw modern media.   Its a image of himself that is how it speaks.

Great comments.   Right on as to Nebucchadnezzar.

  2. (I'm quoting words from a man who wrote this about 1,800 years ago!  This man's teacher was Polycarp who was taught by John the disciple of Christ.  Please hear his call to compare things.)

If any one, therefore, reads the Scriptures with attention, he will find in them an account of Christ, and a foreshadowing of the new calling.  For Christ is the treasure which was hid in the field, that is, in this world; but the treasure hid in the Scriptures is Christ, since He was pointed out by means of types and parables

Hence His human nature could not be understood, prior to the consummation of these things which had been predicted, that is, the advent of Christ.

And therefore it was said to Daniel the prophet:  "Shut up the words, and seal the book even to the time of consummation, until many learn, and knowledge be completed.  For at that time, when the dispersion shall be accomplished, they shall know all these things."

But Jeremiah also says, "In the last days they shall understand these things."

For every prophecy, before its fulfilment, is to men [full of] enigmas and ambiguities.  But when the time has arrived, and the prediction has come to pass, then the prophecies have a clear and certain exposition.

And for this reason, indeed, when at this present time the law is read to the Jews, it is like a fable; for they do not possess the explanation of all things pertaining to the advent of the Son of God, which took place in human nature; but when it is read by the Christians, it is a treasure, hid indeed in a field, but brought to light by the cross of Christ, and explained, both enriching the understanding of men, and showing forth the wisdom of God and declaring His dispensations with regard to man, and forming the kingdom of Christ beforehand, and preaching by anticipation the inheritance of the holy Jerusalem, and proclaiming beforehand that the man who loves God shall arrive at such excellency as even to see God, and hear His word, and from the hearing of His discourse be glorified to such an extent, that others cannot behold the glory of his countenance, as was said by Daniel:  "Those who do understand, shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and many of the righteous as the stars for ever and ever."  Thus, then, I have shown it to be, if any one read the Scriptures.

For thus it was that the Lord discoursed with the disciples after His resurrection from the dead, proving to them from the Scriptures themselves "that Christ must suffer, and enter into His glory, and that remission of sins should be preached in His name throughout all the world."  And the disciple will be perfected, and [rendered] like the householder, "who bringeth forth from his treasure things new and old."

  3. I see it.   The part about "draw us to you, away from that which is grevious."    That can truly be compared to believers yearning for the rapture.    When we think of our "blessed hope" it is surely the rapture.    Draw us to you echoes that hope.    As to give us our bread for the coming day, that is to me much more subtle than Draw us, and if we are asking for bread for the coming day it could be a prayer in morning time, but it does seem to fit (asking for Scripture for spiritual need as we both see and read of coming events).   Hard to put into words.   The word parable has very interesting meaning, para as I recall means to lay things side by side for comparison, and ble from ballo (it said) can have the meaning "to see."   Jesus explained His use of parables to the disciples.   Thanks for this.

  4. Scriptures that promise that the Lord will take believers prior to the tribulation: (some of these are from memory so I may need to fix.)

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:  and the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air:  and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.  I Thessalonians 4:18  [So we can take comfort that He will catch us up to Himself.]

And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.   I Thessalonians 1:10   [Those who do not believe in an imminent rapture  would add the word death after "wrath" and are erring.  It just says the wrath.]

Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.   Titus 2:13

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in his pavilion, In the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me.  He shall set me upon a rock. Psalm 27:10     [This specifically points to "the time of trouble," also called "the time of Jacob's trouble," "the tribulation," and shows that believers will be where God dwells during that time.]

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.    I Thessalonians 5:9  [This does not say wrath at time of death.]

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.  Heb. 9:28

Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.   Romans 5:9

Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.    Revelation 3:10   [The time of temptation, I believe is the time of tribulation, trial of all the world.]

Call upon Me in the day of trouble, and I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me.  Psalm 50:15     [I had saved this Scripture prior to 26 September 2017 when I realized  Psalm 50 contains details about the rapture, about Israel's response afterwards, and about the wicked and what they must admit do if they hope to find the Lord.]

We have confidence to come into the holy place through the blood of Jesus.  Hebrews 10:19

Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest:  for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.  If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.  I Cor. 3:11-15.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder, the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.  Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him.  I will set him on high, because he hath known My Name.   Psalm 91:13-14

The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.   Psalm 34:7

Psalm 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.  4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.  5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.  Luke 12:32

2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished

2 Timothy 4:8  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

John 14:3   And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Jude 1:14   And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Isaiah 26:19-21  Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.  20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.  21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

I Thessalonians 4:18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Mark 13:32-37 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.   [We are like the porter who was to watch the door:  commanded to watch.]

Luke 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

    2dec2017

John said in Rev. 4 he saw first the throne, then he saw the 24 elders sitting before the throne.   (Some else noticed that the elders  were in heaven before the descriptions of the tribulation.)

Rev. 4:1-4  1 After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.  3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.  4   And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

    Hello <ary8,

It sounds as though you may be a part of the Greatest Generation along with me. :)  Could that be right?

    Quasar93

Maybe in between.   I remember back to when I was 3, for a few things (like long train trip, etc., and then couple of years later, more things.   Well, I just put up a post about Psalm 50 and the pre-trib rapture.   So glad I can put up a topic.

  6.  I believe in past weeks the Lord has given me new insights from Psalm 50, on the imminent rapture of those believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior.  See Scripture references at end hereof.

Psalm 50, with my comments in brackets:
1 (A Psalm of Asaph.)  The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence:  a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him.

[note by Mary:  These words remind me of the fire when Elijah was taken up into heaven, II Kings 2:11.  The following verses then tell who it is that He is coming for.  Christians are told to "wait for His Son"  I Thess. 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.   Jesus promised He will come for us, John 14:18, and this is our blessed hope, and our comfort.

He shall call to the heavens above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people

[I Thess. 4:18 states that He shall descend from heaven "with a shout" and that the "dead in Christ" and "we which are alive" shall be separated  from others and brought before Him for judgment.  This indicates that the time is when God calls out.  Judgement of His people is specifically referred to, and a separating of His people is implied and points to to the timing of rewards or lack thereof to Christians (I Cor. 3:11-15, regarding judgment for rewards or loss to believers.]

Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice

[This again echoes the words of I Thess. 4:18:  "caught up together" and the verses indicate who He will gather.  Believers accept Christ's death as their sacrifice.]

6  And the heavens shall declare his righteousness:  for God is judge himself.  Selah

[This emphasizes that the heavens will testify that God keeps His promises and the rapture of Christians through the heavens will reveal this to the world in a marvelous way.   Judgment is again referred to.]

7  Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee:  I am God, even thy God.

[Then we come to the point where the Psalm reveals that there is a message to Israel, to Jews who had not accepted Christ.]

8  I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

[This possibly suggests that the animal sacrifices are occurring at the time of the rapture.]

9  I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

10  For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

11  I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

12  If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

13  Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

14  Offer unto God thanksgiving: and pay thy vows unto the most High

[This is advice to Israel.  Some will realize that Jesus was their Messiah and that they can be thankful for this knowledge, and make a vow to Him.   It points to the need of Israel to accept the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus.   I believe many will immediately do so.]

15  And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me

[The Lord tells Israel what they need to do, gives His promise that He will deliver them too, and gives the outcome, that Israel shall glorify their Savior.]

16  But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

[Beginning with this verse, the Lord speaks to the wicked, and tells them they should take His covenant and declare His statutes, and that they have rejected Him and come under the law of sin.  Sinners must start with realizing they rejected Him and are in the time of trouble when His wrath is poured out.]

17  Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

18  When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and has been partaker with adulterers.

19  Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

20  Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

21  These things has thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

22  Now consider this ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

[So the Lord then promises salvation to the one who orders his conversation right, and offers praise, glorifying God.  Jesus' Name means salvation, and some of those left behind, not among the gathered people, will receive Him and be saved during the tribulation.]

It sure was.    I saw the newsreels, had enough sense to be concerned about how serious it was.     I'm so blessed, and just feeling all the time, every single day, how close we are to being caught up.    I'm new and when I can, will put up some encouragements I've found.

I totally believe in the pre- tribulation Rapture and it's seen in many places in scripture.

But here's one thing that's never been explained to my satisfaction.

Luk 21:36  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. [emphasis mine]

Taken in context to whom Jesus is talking to, I'm wondering what this verse is telling us?

    Anyone? Anyone?

I felt that it sounded like it is to Israel at the Second Coming.   I googled it, and think I found some excellent points.

The person brings out that the phrase "Son of Man" is used only in relation to Israel, not the Church.

Also, that the people spoken to are told to 'watch and pray always... that they may  be accounted worthy to escape all these things... and to stand before the Son of Man,' and then says the church is told instead   to 'watch and be sober,' and 'have the hope of salvation.'   They said that the ones being spoken to are 'escaping all these things' in order that they might stand before the Lord in their physical bodies when the Lord comes.   (So I think that makes excellent points that this scripture is for when the Lord comes to the earth at the end of the tribulation.  They are to pray that they make it through it.)   They add that Christians are in Christ by faith in Christ's finished work alone.    I thought he or she did an excellent job.

No one knows the day nor the hour of our catching away. To keep my comments as brief as possible I'm omitting supporting scripture.

The Lord could have come for his church at anytime from the day of His ascension, and there are no preconditions or prophecy that needs to be fulfilled. With that factual statement, and a pretribulational Rapture viewpoint, I'd like to discuss your eschatology.

I suspect it's entirely possible true believers might witness the destruction of Damascus, Syria, the destruction of Elam, the Ezekiel 38: 39: invasion, one of them, some of them, or all of them before our catching away. With my pretribulational view, born again believers are not appointed to the wrath of God, contrary to some opinions, is the entire seven weeks of Jacobs trouble, the seven year tribulation. So, sometime prior to the seven year tribulation having the P.T. viewpoint, born again believers (the church) is out of here.

I think you have done an excellent job of setting it forth.   As to what is next, you have chosen the 3 events that I think could happen, no idea of what order or if it will be after we are gone.   I had thought of Russia wanting a seaport, but your idea about them wanting the food production, and the symbol is good.
